What did you do with the certification sticker? If these helmets are for playing in, they are not valid for use in a football game without the sticker. They MUST be painted and certified by a NAERA member. They also are required to have a warning sticker.
@@TheMountainMan The helmets used in professional football, do have warning labels on them. In the NFL, the warning label decals are usually placed on the right rear side.

I actually use Montana paint. It works really well
220 for the sand paper? Only that? I am gonna paint my helmet soon. But i was checking which one would be better. Any advice?

Would you recommend stuffing the holes for the screws, that attach the facemask, so they don’t get gunked up with paint?

Do you use a gloss to finish it ? I’m spray painting helmets tomorrow for the first time got primer, paint ,gold flake gloss and regular gloss
On these helmets I used single stage paint so the paint comes mixed with clear in and I just add a wet look hardener

@@juicefamtv6191 let it dry for a few days so the paint can settle in. But without a hardener it still may chip

Sticker can be placed inside if it’s useable. You don’t see college teams or pros with warning labels on their helmets lol
