I don't know why or when UA-cam started flooding my suggestions with specifically 30-40 year-old Japanese ambient synth albums, but I am so grateful to have been exposed to this stuff.
I simply can NOT thank you enough for sharing this beautiful space with so many of us. Until I found your channel I had never heard of many of these artist. My anxiety goes from 10 to zero. I can sleep at now for more than a couple hours and you have honestly changed my life through the music you've so kindly shared. Thank you so very, very much. Stay well. Peace to all, everywhere.
Yes I did not realize music had such potential until I started listening to Kokubo's work 3 hours before I had a presentation. I went from quite anxious about it to mostly calm. I am looking forward to listening everyday now.
I listen to this everyday. makes me feel that what I do in life is not that important and is not worth the stress. and it's ok not to be perfect and we have to be happy with that. greetings from India.
Playing this in my house on a sunny day...stray black cat strolls in and makes himself at home with one ear on the sound. I'm at so much peace today ❤️
Update. That cat that strolled in 2 years ago is now living with me safe and sound. She's called Luna. I forgot I wrote this at the time. Seeing it again is making me tear up with happiness 🥲
Man just sitting at my desk with a boatload of tears, feeling as though all the pain and sin of the world has just washed away. I'm with all my family and friends living in peace and harmony forever and ever.
It is but such a shame, how many of these albums are just not aviailable anymore. The hard press releases are, of course, long sold out. Even if you are lucky to find one of these masterpieces somewhere online, you will have to pay a small fortune to get your hands on them. But even digital version do not exist, not even on Bandcamp or more niche websites. What makes it more weird is that Takashi Kokubo even has a Bandcamp account and is selling digital field recordings there. Why not sell these masterpieces digitally? Maybe some publishing/licensing mish-mash? Anyway, thank you very much for uploading these works and with that offer this great work to those who are new to discover this truly outstanding artist. Shows you the importance of public sharing and preservation.
Man...the 90ies were outrageous concerning Electronic Music. And I'm so glad I grew up in Berlin - early exposure to Techno then Trance ( Sven Väth - Accident in Paradise, Chicane - Offshore etc ) then Ambient ( Future Sound of London Lifeforms Double LP, Aphex Twin, Brian Eno - Prophecy Theme ) then Drum n Bass ( Timeless by Goldie...the best of all time )...then I got lost in Vangelis, Steve Roach and everything I missed out on - like this beauty...
Synths have been around for a while and more than pads and drones, now artists use them to create beauty and dreams of possible Paradises. Takashi Kokubo's gentle uplifting creations are inspirations for me to see the beauty of life. Thank you.
I feel like I'm inside a Kingdom Hearts level, roaming around the beautiful scenery and interacting with that world. So blessed to be alive to listen to music like this. It is truly amazing how we are able to stumble across something like this. It makes me feel grateful for everything positive and negative that happens on a daily basis. Keep uploading these lost, but not forgotten gems. Music is everything, especially when it sounds like this.
This type of programming is saving my sanity. I am only surprised that I never heard of these artists because I followed New Age and “Space” music for decades.
I lived in Orleans one of big city of the Loire région in France! I used to spend hours walking down the Loire with my lover talking about everything, we started doing that while i was in a very sad moment of my life. Now my family is living soon. This album reminds me of the peacefull moments i spend with im so thank u so much For uploading
Si tu avais un top de chateau/monument a me faire visiter en Loire,tu me donnerais quoi a visiter ? (juste un futur va nu pied sur les routes pour un petit projet tour de france gastronomique/culturel)
Always puts me into a state of mind which I am not used to. Enchanting, whimsical, and warm all over, Takashi Kokubo takes me to a special and unique place in my mind every time. Thank you should be for posting these masterpieces of musical art. ;-)
as always, these recordings seem to exist out of their time, so eerie. Now I'm waiting for the link, in the meantime, thank you for digging those out of the unknown !
This music is so beautiful and sounds classical to my ears. I love all his works and wish i could find more of it. It seems like some of his music disappeared from youtube a while back, and i have no idea where to find it now. Thanks so much for making these wonderful works available.
I wish I was in a world were it was peaceful were I was a hero in the world. I wish if I ever die i wish I die in a place were it's beautiful and ether the sun sets or goes down. Well that's all I'll say
I feel like I am watching a beautiful dragon rising in the sky. The dragon belongs to no one, not even nature itself. It is free, and I am freed letting it go.
@Python593 there's nothing preventing anyone here from doing the interview to get on said trackers or finding someone to invite them (unless they've previously been banned). Also, most anything that's on those trackers eventually trickles down to Soulseek and other public forums/blogs. It's not that I'm against sharing these brilliant albums but there are certainly better places to do so than on UA-cam and risk having the channel taken down/account disabled.
im not here because of anxiety, i had beated that sh*t long ago with style. im just cool, i discover all kind of beauties and this was also one of them. :] see you guys around
i still couldn't find the album that was recommended to me by youtube like a year ago or so. it was also one of these things. you know, ambient music from japan that is just way too good. but it had these male vox that sounded on the one hand as if they were about to whip each other but also just really happy and non-sexual. i don't know if it was uploaded to this channel or some of the other japan-ambient-something-channels but if anyone knows the titel or anything pls tell me. one hint was: the track from the album i mean was also in the middle of the album, and i think it also had exactly 3 tracks, just like this one
I don't know why or when UA-cam started flooding my suggestions with specifically 30-40 year-old Japanese ambient synth albums, but I am so grateful to have been exposed to this stuff.
Would love to listen more to something like this. Could you recommend some of your discoveries?
Same here🙂...
oh idk…maybe it has to do with your obvious obsession with all things japanese? lol cmon.
@maccd im smoking cigarettes in your car with the windows rolled up
Gotta GREAT suggestion if you like this music. Search out a guy named Andreas Vollenweider, you will love it. Caverna Magica is a great album !
The insects on the cover are adorable. They look like they're carrying out their lives doing what they have to do. Bug business, it's kinda important.
Beautiful comment :)
bug appreciation~
those are day flies, so every second has to be important business for them!
Very true, bugs deserve compassion too
Bug business - big business. Busy they are with life itself, in perfect resonance with Nature: A thing of beauty, indeed!

Yes thanks for helping us discover the wonderful healing space of Japambient. ⛩️🇯🇵
I listen to this everyday. makes me feel that what I do in life is not that important and is not worth the stress. and it's ok not to be perfect and we have to be happy with that. greetings from India.
That's a nice way of putting things. Describes perfectly my feelings.
Shout out from Austin, TX
Picking a favorite Kokubo is like picking a favorite nap spot in an oasis of watefalls and hammocks. This one though...
Playing this in my house on a sunny day...stray black cat strolls in and makes himself at home with one ear on the sound. I'm at so much peace today ❤️
played this today and it put my cat in a very calm mood, felt like we are one with the universe

@Marcelo Sampaio Yes, he's called Takashi Kokubo.
Sometimes i am in the water castle. Sometimes i am in the forest castle.

Exiting winter and beginning Spring -
Nothing better than experiencing this passage listening to Takashi Kokubo's musical pearls...
Synths have been around for a while and more than pads and drones, now artists use them to create beauty and dreams of possible Paradises. Takashi Kokubo's gentle uplifting creations are inspirations for me to see the beauty of life. Thank you.
Kokubo has become like a favorite fragrance to me.. 🪄✨️💛✨️
This music was with me during countless hours of work. To some degree, it supported my career.
A little window of beauty dragging me through a sleepy Thursday afternoon. Only one more day til the weekend 😊😊😊

I am at a loss for words to express the depth of Kokubo's musical legacy to the world. Listening to his albums keep us silent, anyway.
Fantasia - very elegant and Bach-like 😊 Never thought I would like that old Farfisa organ ( trying to emulate a trumpet) sound so much 😊
I just found about takashi what a beautiful music stealing the heart and senses❤
this series is mindblowing - the perfect summer music
This is absolutely beautiful
Gorgeous
My heart smiling and opens up

thank you for this beautiful morning album ◡ the feeling of sunshine when it's on my skin.
I don't normally enjoy "relaxing" instrumental music (unless it's VGM or lofi), but this is something special. :)
Is this how pure happiness sounds?
