One of my favorite Hammer films. It's not perfect, but it's so much fun. It gets flack for being in a modern setting, but they keep him stuck in a church so it has a gothic feel. This was also my 2nd Dracula after Prince of Darkness. Those 2 seemed to be on tv the most in the 70s

I think Dracula works best when he's in the 19th century or maybe earlier than that. Not that it can't work but bringing him into a modern day setting doesn't have that gothic feel to it.

I can't help but love this installment. Wish Dracula had been given more to do - actually be out and about in 70s London - but it's so much fun.

That would have been amazing! Seeing Christopher Lee as Dracula actually walk around London at night in search of fresh blood. Have the police find the bodies piling up around London, with bite marks on their necks and then bring Van Helsing into the story. That would have been so much better!

I love this film and I think the opening is the best of the series. I do think they missed a trick by not explaining how they came to be fighting on the coach. Also some of the music in this is genuinely unsettling. Christopher Lee's face in the face off in the church with Van Helsing is incredible. Great film.

Cool, Stoneground scene was fun, Hammer should have hired Sabbath instead to do Children of the Grave In the Church!

I know a lot of fans don't care for this film, but I like it very much, along with The Satanic Rites of Dracula, which I like even better.

I've always loved this film. I can't say the same for The Satanic Rights Of Dracula, which will be getting a review next Saturday.

@@ZoneHorror.That's about how I feel. This one has a certain cheesy charm and characters who are fun to watch even when they're being dumb. Rites of Dracula has a more interesting and topical premise but handles it in a very dull way with little chance for the characters to shine (and vampires laying elaborate suicide plans in the Hammer-verse always seems dumb when suicide by Cushing - the local equivalent of suicide by cop - is so easy to manage.)

I'm with you - Love both of them but Satanic Rites gets the edge for me - was lucky enough to see a print of it at a film festival
