The winrate is low but the K/D is higher than Russian and German tanks at top tier. Yep, M1A2 has better K/D than the BVM and 2A7V. People keep saying it's the players being worse, but every nation has premium top tier vehicles that could ruin the win rates, it isn't some plague of unskilled players dropping ONLY ONE SINGLE NATION to 30%. It's the SPAA and CAS options and how they interact with win conditions. CAS removes tanks that have outplayed and outpositioned the other team on the ground, SPAA prevents CAS from removing those good players in good positions. If your CAS and SPAA are easier to use and more effective per spawn in doing their job, then you beat a team with solid tanks and equally-skilled players. CAS and SPAA are why US winrates are low while having a higher K/D than countries with 65% win rates.
Are you really trying to say USA has terrible CAS or am i misunderstanding you? They are easily the best CAS nation in the game from low to top tier. Even at top tier an F-15E can easily destroy pantsir by just dropping GPS bombs outside of the pantsir range which it gets 20 off. The reason why american winrates are so bad is really just the players. The level 10 clickbait player meme exists for a reason.
I also play a lot of ground sim from 9 - 12 BR and even though my KD is the same for both sides my winrate 60 - 70% on the russian side is just better vs the NATO 30 - 40% winrate. Half of my NATO team struggles to get even a single kill in stuff like 10 BR ground sim.

It is true the turret should be uparmored more as the M1A2 -> SEPV2 are all based off the Swedish trials with export armor nearly equivalent to the army Abrams at the time (90s). It was upgraded throughout the SEPV2. Even then there's still an accepted bug report which will buff the SEPV1/V2's turret side armor by 250% against chemical.
Everyday I still wait for them to implement the turret ring bug report and hydraulic pump bug report they accepted months ago. There's other bug reports for it too that were accepted - though this goes for every single accepted bug report known to the snail.
The problem with the abrams is incorrect lower front plate armor that is missing DU inserts. The 50 mm modeled incorrect turret ring that is much larger and thinner than irl

Engine smoke is a good trick at top tier (or high tier in general) for one reason only: because you'll face many stock tanks with unlocked thermals!
