Actually Yale does a lot for the New Haven community (unlike other Ivies like university of pennsylvania in Philly). They donated $1M last year alone to the city for Covid-related initiatives and pledged to help them raise $5M, the Yale buses can be used by members of the community not just students, they have created several free stem programs for schools in the area, there are a lot of initiatives for students to get involved with the community, students actively volunteer in everything from immigration to education local NGOs.

The school is a business and should contribute to the community it’s in, not put the people in danger who work and attend them bc everyone living outside of the tower is suffering and these huge institutions do very little to assuage any real problems.

@@jamiezenichi1017 There are other schools. And it was founded by dirty money, with elitist policies, and on principles of exclusion. And still, the school is there and is revered as it- a “nonprofit” institution- does very little outreach that really helps the surrounding community.

Actually Yale does a lot for the New Haven community (unlike other Ivies like university of pennsylvania in Philly). They donated $1M last year alone to the city for Covid-related initiatives and pledged to help them raise $5M, the Yale buses can be used by members of the community not just students, they have created several free stem programs for schools in the area, there are a lot of initiatives for students to get involved with the community, students actively volunteer in everything from immigration to education local NGOs.
