Sacademicus Hello sir, I constructed my house of size 30’x40’ with 16 columns out of wich 10 nos are 9’’x15’’ and 6 nos are 9’’x12’’ but the footing we had done is 4’x4’ and some 3’6”x4’ but the depth of footing is casted only 9” then upon my request to the contractor next day again we casted 9” concrete that is step footing without any steel and scrubbing the surface of concrete, is it safe for g+2. Plz reply
the footing should be a RCC i.e with steel reinforcement if your structure is framed structure but if u r executing a load bearing structure then you need to provide strip footing.kindly answer which type of structure u r constructing( load bearing or framed)? in any case u need to revise ur foundation since u r proposing a Ground+2 structure.
We are doing frame structure the proposed design is for g+2 but right now we constructed only ground floor, and the footing we did mat footing that is only 9” depth once i came to site next day i complain about the depth is very less thats why we again did footing next day for 9” thick that is in step shape. The design is RCC frame structure with mat footing
without reinforcement in the foundation i cannot grantee the stability of foundation since the columns will have punching effect on the mat and also there will be upward pressure from soil. kindly share the design for better understanding. otherwise if 1st floor slab is not constructed then please provide Isolated RCC footing only at the column location.

We did footing with reinforcements but the depth is only 9” we did concrete is it safe for at least g+1
