lol don't forget Vegetable Man, The Man Who Invented Himself, The Man Downstairs, The Man who Loves the Rain, Man With a Woman's Shadow, Man in the Air (unreleased), The Green Boy... Then there's "Time Girl", "English Girl", "Antwoman", "Lady Obvious", "Lady Waters (and the hooded one)", "Queen Elvis".... So many characters.
Yes sir, I do like it. Subscribe I will. Nice capsule overview of his career and new record. Look out, though, Dennis, there's *another* new record coming out shortly!
Hi Mark. Good shows. I've been a big fan of Robyn Hitchcock for decades and have seen him in concert here in Seattle many times. The Soft Boys were great. My all time favorite Robyn Hitchcock album was with the Egyptians: Queen Elvis. I can listen to it forever. His self titled album from 2017 is in my list of fav albums of his. However, the new album Shufflemania left me bored. I think part of the reason is that I feel the production/engineering/sound quality is very muddy. And because of that, all the songs seem to run into each other and sound all the same. Like one long drone. I'll give it a few more spins and maybe it will grow on me. But for now I'm somewhat disappointed.
I've never listened to Hitchcock before so thank you for the enlightenment! An amazing artist.
Listening to this was like having an old friend drop by and hang out for the afternoon.
Awesome!
Great summary of a great record! Danke
