    Glad to hear that George is ok and his neighbors are looking out for him. Lord knows he can be a pain in the butt, but he's had a rough road and this is what aloha is all about 💓

    George paid for the dozer work himself. Dozer Bob did the work basically charging him for expenses and fuel. George spent all day Monday cleaning up his campsite on Leilani. A large pickup truck of cinder was spread along the path but much more is needed. If any neighbors want to help you can bring more small cinder. It's $20 for a large pickup truckload at the Leilani Pit. This pit is only open on Tuesday and Friday. Or you can get red cinder from the Kapoho pit Monday through Friday. Mahalo!

      Andy Laskey I also just found his channel and subscribed. You live in Cornwall UK. I had a paternal Aunt Mae who married a man whose last name is Blatchford and was from Cornwall. Actually was pointed out by a grand daughter of his who was able to recognize the home he lived in and shown on the series show of Doc Blatchford. One of their sons became to be known as Doc Blatchford. Interesting. MY husband liked the show.

    That's really cool if they're really trying to help him and not trying to loot. I can't believe that the government has not try to make access to these homes that are not destroyed I mean come on. All they need to do is make a flat surface it doesn't have to be perfect. Looks like the guava makes a pretty good road surface

      Aloha Mindy and Charles,
      I’m in complete agreement with both of you. This eruption happen in 2018, between Governor David Ige , Hawai’i County mayors, state government workers along with related unions, more could of and should of have been done by now.
      Charles, I’m just disappointed that George had to lose his leg first before they got off their lazy duffers to do something positive and meaningful.
      I wonder how many other residents in that area could benefit from this wonderful gesture. I know that you could Charles and maybe Mindy also.
      Perhaps a “Go Fund Me” account or page could be started for all of the local residents in this area who simply just need a leg up and help get their lives back on track again.
      From here on Oahu, I , I’m afraid that all I can do is offer words of comfort and maybe a slight ray of hope.
      I will go pray to Buddha and hope that he hears not just my voice but all of your voices also and offer his sincere kindness.
      Deepest love and respect,
      Todd WH6DW

    I’m in shock that the officials haven’t came and cleared the road for people to move back to their house! We’re spending time sending people to the moon but they can’t come clear one freaking road so people can get to their house? WTF

    • @truthbetold1855
      @truthbetold1855 2 роки тому +1

    • @barbarafrey9154
      @barbarafrey9154 2 роки тому +1

      @@truthbetold1855 I’m aware of that. What I meant was that the world is so technologically advanced that we’re sending people to the moon yet people can’t help these poor people plow a road. I wasn’t speaking directly at any branch of a government lol. When lava covered that highway they cleared that off real fast. Everybody else I guess is just left to fend for themselves.

    • @ziggybender9125
      @ziggybender9125 2 роки тому +2

      @@barbarafrey9154 The issue is that the rock bed is pretty thick, plowing a road leaves side walls of highly crumbly lava rock which is a hazard. Therefore they have to clear the path much wider and then safely fence in the side walls. That's the first issue, the second issue is this happened in poor neighborhood known for off grid living style. If it was in an influential neighborhood it'd done by now, basically the government doesn't agree with off grid living to begin with. Oh and the 3rd issue is even if you clear it, the volcano can still erupt and flood the area with lava all over again.
