Great tutorial! Will this also work with fedora 36?

Yes, but I do not recommend it. In Fedora 36, the RPM database has been moved from /var to /usr, and that makes a huge difference. In addition, I've come up with a new way of creating subvolumes that makes rolling back snapshots considerably easier and more reliable. I've already published an article on it, and I'm now working on a UA-cam video about it. I'll upload the video in 2-3 days. Next week, I'll most likely upload an article/video regarding LUKS1 and snapper together. If you need it sooner and are comfortable with Linux, take the installing Fedora 36 and Snapper part from my blog article and the encryption part from this video.

I was looking for something like this. Question, why LUKS 1 over 2?

GRUB 2.06 only supports LUKS-encrypted devices using the PBKDF2 algorithm. LUKS1 uses the PBKDF2 algorithm. LUKS2 uses the more advanced Argon2 algorithm, which is not supported by GRUB. Although LUKS2 supports PBKDF2 key derivation function, it is better to encrypt with LUKS1 as it takes less space in the header than LUKS2. The next version of GRUB 2.11 is expected to provide LUKS2 GRUB encryption using the Argon2 algorithm.

why adding snapper rollback into linux is such a long process of mounting and unmounting?

with arco its a piece of cake but, arco comes with a very buggy pre configuration so its not an option for me so what are my options for an easer process gurada bare bones?

That is correct. Unfortunately, Fedora will not allow you to encrypt the /boot partition in the Anaconda installer. So you'll have to work it out after the installation is finished. That's why there are so many mounts and unmounts. As for the snapper, it is gradually moving towards a built-in rollback functionality, similar to Suse Linux, beginning with Fedora 36. RPM package databases have been moved from /var to /usr in Fedora 36. This is a significant improvement. Fedora, like Suse Linux, is expected to include the built-in feature for snapper rollback by version 38. Until then, I suppose this is the best option.
