Transport Minister: I doubt it's going to cost $48 million to destroy newly installed infrastructure, clean it up, AND repair the roads afterwards. Also Transport Minister: Traffic Congestion costs us 11 *BILLION DOLLARS* worth of _"productivity"_
The Province gonna bungle the construction costs removing Toronto Bike Lanes like they did with the Eglinton Crosstown LRT & the ballooning costs of the new Toronto Provincial Court House.😂😂
The province has been completing many projects months ahead of schedule. I hope the same holds true for the removal of these lanes and restoration of the roads.
@@henryludvor6275 like what and how much did it cost, stop the propaganda sausage everything politicians do ballooned to double price double time because they take too many days off long lunches and meetings the story goes on, Ford has been the worse premier so far with misleading the public and corruption
@ lol no they havn’t. The Eglinton Crosstown was suppose to be done one year after Ford was elected he fired people and replaced them with his own cronies and now the project is still delayed. The courthouse cost is ridiculous almost a $1B for one building.
Have you even seen the lanes? They are not parking curbs but rather large concrete barriers. Bollards and raised curbs in some areas too. Stay in your lane.
if you've seen the downtown bloor and university bike lanes, you'll know they go far beyond just paint and consist of lots of raised, permanent pavement and concrete barriers, and removing them to replace with car lanes will require a total redesign of those streets
Defund CycleTO, cancel CafeTO, abolish Toronto Bike share. All these other wasted programs that the city pumps money into and you'll find out removing bike lanes is a bargain. Also ban and outlaw cycling and all of a sudden all the roadblocks of removing lanes will also disappear
getting more people to bike is actually a bargain for the city, car dependency is very financially unsustainable and drivers already don't pay their fair share for the road damage, air and noise pollution, and danger they present. look around the world and you can see cities with extensive bike infrastructure actually have lower traffic and spend way less on transportation infrastructure compared to car-centric cities. the reason so many torontonians want better bike infrastructure is because it's consistently been proven to be better for cities around the world
People who complain about bike lanes causing congestion are99 x of 100 single occupants drivers. The city needs to toll single use cars and congestion will end
Or let's do the following things: - 1. Create a Dome around the city to block any non Torontonians to enter the city including tourist, and for Torontonians to not be able to leave the city because most cities outside Toronto require owning a car as mode of transportation. 2. Let's make Markham the financial capital of the country like it used during 70's and 80's, and while we are at it, let's make it the New Capital of Ontario since it will be more easier for non Torontonian people to go to Markham without worrying about hitting a cyclist since their blind spots won't be blocked by Traffic cones similar to the ones that are on the University Avenue.
The Transportation Minister needs to watch NOT JUST BIKES UA-cam Channel! 👍

The transportation minister cites 12 year old data and won't look at the city's data. Cons are exactly what they are...CONS!
Many people use bikes to get where they need to be. Not everybody is in a position to own a car or use other public transport.

Corrupt city council puts forth corrupt numbers - what a surprise.
That’s exactly what it is
BIG BUCKET OF BLACK PAINT
YET SOMEHOW IT WILL BALLOON TO 100 MILLION

The estimate is of course way off
you can't question that.... it's toronto the city of milk and honey....💩🧠🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
more efficient better subway with no kicks back all round
Yeah no all projects regarding transportation have all come inflated sk ask yourself how this isn't going to be over budget either.
Whole bunch of useless ppl
Yes I agree. The entirety of Toronto City Council is useless and should all lose their jobs
not only the city but the province useless and corrupt just ask ford cr** head

They legally cannot ban biking without banning driving first
Trudeau is a clown.

Stop using cars. Stop using bicycles. Stop walking outside. Stop being a nuisance. Just stop existing. 🤷
Grow up, clown.

Kidding, but for real Toronto isn’t that great 🤷
