Should definitely get a tune by loi done, I hear it brings the torque full gob for most of the rev range, supposed to feel like a new car. Also, excellent work man! great content... as always
_not a car you’d typically expect to see doing hot laps but you did it justice, well done_ 👏🏼
Looked like a lot of fun, your ISF is a great car!
Done a few laps of Manfeild although not quite as fast as that!
Nice driving! That bump at turn 2 can really unsettle some cars. You held it well!
Since you're tracking your car, just to spread awareness... Additionlly to usual faults (valley plate leak, cracked headers, starter problems etc) I guess we can add radiators that blow up to the list! Had mine fckd yesterday. 115 000km on the clock only, mint condition car. Luckily I catched it just as it started leaking after seeing fresh fluid under a car on shopping mall parking lot close to home. Pulled it out today and it's a major PITA for something that should be simple radiator replacement. Of course, never heard of this issue on them or had any car in generally that would have radiator fail so soon. Yet, one google search later reveals it's super common on them around that mileage. If your has more and it was never changed, you are running on a borrowed time. New oem one is up to 1000$, depends where you are. Full aluminums are like 2-3x more than for other cars for some reason (1000-1800$ here in Japan). I've uncrimped and removed top tank and surely enough it is cracked around inlet hose area where it's the hotest and whole plastic has became brittle.
As for oil temperature, IS F has one ATF heat exchanger inside the radiator and one ATF cooler after radiator. I think transmission heat exchanger is what's causing overal coolant and oil temperature to go up (throtugh engine oil heat exchanger). Best would be to bypass ATF heat exchanger and get a bit bigger ATF cooler but not the best idea for daily driving as there will be more fluctations in transmission temperatures. Addint thermostat would help with that part. It would also take engine way longer to warm up and it's already warming up slowly as is.
@@PutolevePetitliph This is actually a largely Toyota/Lexus thing as I've heard. So keep an eye on it.They are designed very similar and use same materials. I also have JZX110 Mark2 (1JZ), with 200 000km and didn't had such problems so far but then again my radiator looks newer than many with lower mileage so it could've been replaced aready before. Then again, they used to make them way bettwer back then, even though it's just couple years of difference.
@@code111japan ok noted. I had 350, 2006 model (230 000km). Noticed coolant on top of the radiator (no overheating, and never needed to top up the radiator), the tensioner pulley is due for a replacement.
Recently sold it for 7k. Getting another 350 f sport 2011 for 10k with 87000km. I hope it’s worth it.
Glorious engine! Such a tail happy car haha....
Haha well yeah at the absolute limit it sure is. Under normal driving it's very controllable though and doesn't step out unless you really poke it
Great driving, can tell you have a good feel for the car! Do you play racing sims?
An oil cooler is definitely a good investment! More peace of mind and more track time lol
Yeah although frankly I don't normally drive flat chat on track so I don't really think it's necessary
You should do some AC on vs off laps to see if it actually does make any difference.
The compressor is probably programmed to disengage at full throttle, but maybe not.
Yeah frankly on a massive 5.0L V8 I dunno how much difference it would make haha. Definitely on a little tiny 1.3 turning it off makes it faster
If you want to go quicker at the track grip and suspension is where it’s at.
Heat is the enemy. Some will say go for more power Id go the opposite power adds more issues than anything else.
The first mentioned allows you to get the most out of what you already have and I think that’s what a lot of enthusiasts miss.
@@KiwiCarLife what are the plans for the car.
I’m an old JZA80 track guy from about the early 2000-2014 odd.
6 bars is not unusual if you are tracking it above lets say 20 degrees and longer than 7-8 minutes. Ive got mine never pass that though, but i heard transmission fluid will get too hot as well at some point. For the occasional blast at the track its fine though, nice work on the steering too btw 👍
Yeah I wasn't too concerned, I'm sure the car is built to take it, but I notice there is an A/T overheat light. Haven't seen that yet but I imagine I wasn't far away.
I remember Top Gear IFS review and how Jeremy hated it. I was young and stupid to understand HOW WORONG HE WAS
Do you know which episode was that? I couldn't find Top Gear doing review of iSF, only Fifth Gear. Found only GS-F and RC-F vids with Clarkson dude. He seemed to love GS-F, hated the RC-F. If you know any shit about cars, you don't need some tv show review to tell you what's good or not, but regardless, it's cool to see car you own in some movie style action.
Yeah Top gear reviewed all the F products and the only ones they really liked were the GSF and LFA.
To be fair Clarkson has driven more cars than we can imagine. Hes comparing it agasint so many cars. Whats good to us might be average compared to a c63 s4 m3 ect
Ive always wondered how long AT's last if you downshift them that harshly. I mean, the clutchpacks will not like it. But i guess only putting them around defeats the purpose of the car.
In automatics that don't rev match yes it'll be putting wear on the clutches, however, this and basically every other performance AT rev-match like you would in a manual, putting a lot less wear on them.
If you don't mind me asking, what do you as a day job for you to be able to afford such cars at your age?
Review some falcons commys dude
@@KiwiCarLife I'm not the biggest fan of them either. But bro it's a kiwi car review channel u gotta do some fords holdens
Ironically if you drove slower you would go faster. Brake harder and earlier into the turns, use all the track, then slowly feed in the power while getting the car straight. Probably 2 seconds a lap there.
2 things, A. Nice helmet you look like a sigma male. B. that car is fat (dont take it the wrong way) but you did a fantastic job at handling it!
Haha yeah only reason I wore that instead of my normal full face is for audio quality. The Accord track day video had terrible audio quality with the full face
Tbh I was watching the face camera view more than the track view 😂 great vid man
Hahah big time concentration
