It speaks volumes that you enjoy this so much coming from an MT09. I have an XSR 900 myself. I would love to rip one of these. Looks like my old ninja 400 except with a proper 4 cylinder.
Break it in like you want. All those factory recommendations are for safety purposes. A bike broken in at WOT will have far less ring blowby because the rings will seat properly. This has been proven multiple times. No need to baby it, just rip it up, change your oil frequently, and forget about it.
I got the exact same bike and the smiles per gallon are priceless. I'll never sell it. Plus it just looks so good. Where about Florida are you? Its gorgeous there!
11:35 If I can give some feedback, you did this at the beginning of the video too, it sure sounds like you’re over-revving it which over time will cause accelerated wear. IF that’s what you’re doing and it wasn’t just a fluke, it’s No big deal, just work on finding that sweet spot. Better to over rev than under rev, but not by that much
I've got the same bike, absolutely love it! The "recommended" break-in period in the manual from Kawasaki is the same for every model. Keeping it below 4000 RPM is possible for cruisers and naked bikes but certainly doesn't apply to a supersport.. that's basically riding the clutch at all times.
Motor cycles are purely emotional atleast in the us. The spec sheet is a good place to start but cant really tell if you like it untill you ride it. Glad your enjoying the zx4rr still
I regret buying Quadlock. It looks great but the cases are terrible quality and I find it finicky to attach to the mount…RokForm or the other one I always forget the name of is next for me.
Dude ive had a rok form on my phone for 2 years now and it still looks new, they are extremely good quality. Military grade. Quad lock doesnt even come close. They also copied rok form’s twist mount design
Are you still hooking your skill with manual shifting or was that just a couple of flukes (happens to all of us especially if we haven’t ridden in a while). If so I recommend ignoring the quickshifter and riding only manually shifting until you’ve got it perfectly and take off perfectly smooth every time etc. slow speed skills help with this and clutch control a lot. If you’ve already got it all figured out just ignore this. I taught myself too so there was a period when I didn’t fully realize how far off I was from being great with the clutch all the time
@ do you have high bitrate “mode” activated on all your presets? I wish Apple made action cams…phones suck at action camera things and action cams suck at everything but being an action cam…would love if my quality and sharpness didn’t plummet the moment it starts getting towards the end of the day and the sun is setting. I know the new ones are much better but I might try to hold out another generation or so in hope that lower light performance keeps getting much better.
Fwiw my ninja 400 had a yoshi alpha t race exhaust and it was WAYYY too loud. Same for my XSR900. Downgrading both to a slip on or a full exhaust that still has a muffler is the way to go. Full exhausts with zero muffler or resonator etc is insanely loud
The single r is just the same bike without a quick shifter and a couple other tech features…same exact motor and tune, so it’s just as brilliant imo. Arguably better looking if you prefer the solid colors and you can just add a quickshifter back
Shame cf moto’s competition to this isn’t coming here. Don’t think the Honda is either. Also maybe you could color match the exhaust tip to the white or blue of your bike. Or fabricate an exhaust extension of a couple inches.
Cars are boring man. I love them too but lets be honest, its going downhill. They just keep getting heavier and more boring and more expensive. Bikes are just so much more exciting in every way. Become a Motorcycle reviewer! You wont regret it🤙🏼
Love it!!! I am here for all the ZX4RR content ….. even if it means daily ride videos with pure sound….. it is intoxicating to hear that engine!

I think I would have enjoyed the xsr more than the MT... Love the conversion that can be done to the rear seat on the xsr
