  • So many hacks happening today because of leaked credentials. No need to do something technical when you can just login. Hackers have realized that it's easier to just log in rather than hack.
Big thanks to Cisco for sponsoring my trip to Cisco Live and this video.

The problem is that inexperienced people are being given access to technologies, as consumption will always prioritize economics over security. 99% of all security breaches are based on human error. However, we are now heading towards innovations where, as a true owner of digital property, you will not be able to identify yourself, leading to paranoid behavior. Mark my Words.

I think Cisco are on the right path here, there is nothing worse than having to use 2FA all the time. Patterns and behaviour, are a good approach as most humans don’t change that often, and it’s harder than you think to copy someone at a granular level.

As I listen to this, I think real-time is CPU usage. Then I look at my processor stats, most of the time, I am below 30%; I have to try hard to hit 100% for any length of time. There seems to be a lot that we could be doing.

Well this will make privacy non-existent even worse than the non-existent privacy we have right now.... "If it can be built compiled or encrypted it can be reverse-engineered and decrypted" 😮 since ancient times... Also true since then the mass aggregation of personal information is not only a threat to the information but also our freedom.... 😮. Also true since then if you can't walk through the front door then you creep through the back door if you can't creep through the back door then you blow the front door down and rely on human nature to create a temporary window to take the data...

I think social engineering and phishing are the attack vectors that will always work, you just need to know about the human behaviour, person's likes and uses, and then you need to make it as authentic looking possible.

This discussion sparked a lot of excitement and fear. I understood that 90% + data leaks happens due to human error, mostly due to leaked credentials. The future according to CISCO looks like massive data collection from every endpoint possible backed up with bio-metric authentication. All this data will be aggregated and evaluated by AI. With so many incidents happening we humans cannot keep up with this. Unfortunately the is no workaround today. When we cannot distinguish what's real and what fake we are on the edge. It looks like we are heading towards machine controlled future anyway. We created matrix. We created machines to monitor us and keep us "safe" from ourselfs. Does anyone have same opinion?
