Greyhound should roder some of these with extra legroom, a lavatory, sedan door, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. They would look great in the Neoclassic livery!
Charles Randolph These buses provide service to NYC's express longer distance routes. Namely Staten Island..and the outer reaches of The Bronx,Queens and Brooklyn. Some of these places are not in reach of Subway service. Some of these routes especially the SI routes are upwards of 30-35 Miles in length to places like Tottenville I think they qualify for intercity buses.
Go to 4:57 & end it at 5:02 because one of the Queens Village Depot maintenance crew just pressed the 4th button on the bottom after the destination number 6741 which is the S74 bus destination is going to Tottenville. So he presses the 4th light blue button & dial in the destination number of 1571 & he wants to make sure that the destination sign is working functionally. And the sign reads "M57 Crosstown, Broadway-West 72nd Street" which it goes along the West Side of Manhattan corridor route. What he does here is to double check before the X63, X64 & the X68 bus operators will go & drive out to pickup the express bus riders along the designated routes via Midtown Manhattan & the last stop on the X63, X64 & the X68 buses is at 23rd Street & 1st Avenue. The X68 express bus will stop at Midtown & 57th Street as well during weekday rush hours from AM/PM (check bus timetable) morning & evening. So that's how a maintenance crew checks in to make sure all of the express buses are all set to operate.
Those are nice buses. The D4500 MCI is exactly what I used to drive so this looks very, very familiar to me. It's allll coming back to me now! Yeah, those are sweet buses.
What type of service to these massive buses provide? Do they really use these intercity style buses for standard rapid transit? Last time I was in NYC I saw them everywhere
What a big piece of garbage. That's not a transit bus. That's a coach for tours. MTA. Wasting our tax dollars and throwing them down the drain on equipment the don't need and aren't qualified for.
These MCI couch buses is nice but years later they get worn out to keep them going they have to fix them keep them running like new. QUEEN VILLAGE bus depot in Queens keep fixing these buses they don't get new ones Bad News. I take the couch bus QM 63 at Merrick Blvd.
These big bois are absolute power houses.

Even though I'll take an X3 over a CT, the CT is a beautiful coach.
