- President Donald Trump is trying to turn the debate over a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border back to his political advantage as his signature pledge to American voters threatens to become a model of unfulfilled promises.
Trump will hold his first campaign rally since November's midterm elections in El Paso, Texas, on Monday as he faces a defining week for his push on the wall -- and for his presidency and his 2020 prospects. Weakened by the disastrous government shutdown and facing a fresh deadline Friday, Trump is trying to convince people that that he'll continue to push to build his long-promised wall, even though there's no way it would be anywhere near complete by the time voters have to decide whether to give him another term.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers were negotiating ahead of Friday's deadline, but on Sunday people familiar with the talks said the mood among the bargainers had grown sour. They spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private talks. #MAGA #Trump #TrumpElPaso

Sir Loxley Mendoza As Christianity and Islam rose from the same area, there isn’t much difference. They both believe in the Old Testament. The main difference is their messiah. Both sacred texts are filled with violence, murder and suffering. The god of both is very human in disposition and a terrible parent. It is easy to see that these could not be true. No good lowly, earthly parent would ever consider “eternal torment” an option for their child. We don’t even like our children to get a scrape or cut. You will tell me that god knows best. I say, religion is one of the things holding back humanity with its folkloric stories of doom and gloom and cult behavior in its followers. It gives humans an excuse to follow their basest and most animal instincts.Religion existed thousands of years before those from the Middle East religions, however through their violence and murder accepted by followers due to their “rightness”, have made themselves a scourge.
I don’t suffer the temptations of the religious. Tell a human not to look at something 20 times. The urge to look will become uncontrollable. Same with religious teaching. A psychological game created by the Priest Class. I gave up invisible Gods and everlasting life shortly after I gave up belief in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. I don’t steal, kill, covet, swindle and so on because I have no desire to. Even if I did I would reject these thoughts because of the disruption to myself, those around me and the community at large. I have found religion to be the poorest bringers of peace there is. Look at the thousands years of violence and fighting, still going on today. I am happy to quietly die without struggling with my ego, which believes it has a right to live forever.

Every news outlet in print or other media except 3 or 4 are fake news? What is the probability of that being true? It’s very unlikely unless we are dismantling our democracy and the Constitution for state run media. It’s been done before in other countries by listening to politicians bent on power.
Commenters also forget to point out that most of us benefit from “liberalism” through Democratic Socialist polices such as Social Security, Medicare, social Services, Food Stamps, aid to farmers and many, many more programs. When we create these policies we are spending our money on ourselves. This is something the ruling class hates. Trump does what he usually does. He tells a part truth. He is not telling you that we have socialist policies in place, he refers to pure socialism does mention it, again creating confusion for citizens who know little of politics. All of the advanced countries with happy and productive citizens employ Democratic Socialist policies.
Trump also fails to tell you of the millions of farm laborers putting food on your table. Been happening since the start of the industrial revolution.
He must appeal to racist and people who have little contact or knowledge with workers simply believe him without checking out the facts. Our labor force for food production is about 50% illegal workers. You don’t hear Farmers and meat producers and packers shouting about immigration as you do . They are worried as to how they will feed you. As good Americans I am relying on you to take up the slack when ICE returns the workers over the southern border. Yourselves and your descendants will be our new farm labor force who will do as the workers do now; work from dawn till dusk, in cold&heat&rain for minimum wage in terrible conditions. Most people in Trumps supposed merit system can find better places to live, Scandinavia, The Netherlands and others.

I am not an American, I don't live in the USA and have never visited the USA. Two sets of our children have emigrated (not to the USA) and have just received citizenship in their new country. However, the start of their process demanded that every member of the prospective two families be able to speak, read and write English (which they could, even the youngest of the grandchildren). I was one of several thousand who could not get in because the El Paso County Coliseum was full to capacity. Still, walking to the back of the line (we got there at 4:30 PM), it was *wonderful to see how many El Pasoans showed up for this rally. I never expected this many El Pasoans to show up; many young people too...there is hope after all!
