For anyone trying to decide which style of control arm to go with: I have the MM Extreme Duty LCAs (the ones with spherical bearings on both ends) and I found no appreciable difference in NVH in my full interior weekend toy.
Man! Where those the original rear control arms you took out? They looked heavy and beefy. Are the J&M rear control arms lighter than stock by any chance? If so what's the weight difference?
Hi Oscar, Yes the J&M Rear Control Arms are lighter and stronger than the OEM control arms. We do not have the exact weight difference, however, you can contact J&M to get further details on the weight.
So the front rca gets torqued to 100lbs without a load on the axle? Then the rear one gets tqd to 85 lbs with it loaded. I hope so because that’s what I did…
wait a minute, you said once the ball is centered remove the outer bushing and metal shell. Why would you need to remove the one side of the outer bushing that you just slid into place?
There is no set "mileage" for the control arm bushings but they'll last. J&M does warranty their products and here's the link: lmr.com/page/jm-products-warranty If you have any other questions, feel free to call or email us with the Contact Us link. what's going on and 4 years later I'd assume you got them in lol. What or how did you end up making the job easier, did LMR's customer care team help make it that much easier and what can you share? Right now I have a set of non adjustable J&M's on my 94 that I'm going to remove and put on the 95 that I'm about to build. The 95 has a nice ride height already but I will put new shocks, struts, arms, ect on. The 94 needs to be lowered in the rear and right now it looks like it's between the J&M and MM. I like the MM's in that they have the bushing installed already but $100 more. If it is too much of a hassle I'll just get the MM but if I can save a hundred bucks that's always nice lol. This video does make it look easy so that's why I'm inquiring. I haven't seen anymore videos of rear LCA bushings installed and was looking for one or ones that guys had to use more force or what showing how harder it is.
When installing new new suspension components that include new bushings, it's always best practice to torque the components with your parts under load, so bushings do not bind up. You can always use just stands to create load instead of torqueing directly on the ground.

This kit is designed for 79-98 only. However, we do offer other kits that fit 99-04 here: lmr.com/products/Mustang-J-and-M-Products-Rear-Control-Arms#15269
Not pleased with how difficult the bushings are to install both in the arms and into the car. Spend a little more and get the Maximum Motorsports as they went together much easier on my sons car.
I've had good luck with the J&M control arms. The bushings aren't that bad to install, but we all have different expectations. You can't go wrong with Maximum Motorsports parts either. Thanks for the comment. -Landan
When I have the money I will be doing many of the installations from these videos so thank you guys very much. Keep up the good work!

Those torque boxes are mint 😂

I was just following the instructions that were sent by J&M and figured they would know best since they're the ones that built the parts. -Landan
Nice lower control arms
We couldn't agree more!
Did you install the coil pigtails facing the driver's side?

How many street miles do these usually last before you have to replace the bushings

I used a U-clamp and socket to start pressing them in, and then the hammer and wood to seat them.
@@MrCaribe65 did you mean C clamp lol? It's hard to believe they are that much of a PITA to get in with lube and even a sledge.....

Why did you tighten the lower shock bolts after the vehicle was lowered?

Ahhh, I understand. Thank you! 👍🏽
So these aren't recommended for an 04 v6 mustang?

You forgot to mention that synthetic grease is stickier than sh$t and hard to get off. 🤣
You should not grease the outside of the bushing. Just the inside.
Um.. false. Helps the bushing to not bind up or make noise when it's greased.
