This is great information, thanks!
Great stuff
My wife and I are east coast skiers and are heading to Colorado in a couple of weeks to ski. We plan on skiing Copper, Winter Park, Steam Boat and A Basin. So my question is this... what width skis would you recommend? Here in the east, we typically ski on skinner skis since we don't have a lot of power but I am wondering if we should bring our wider skis? I have some Head Kore 105s and another pair of 93s (these are my general all-mountain ski). I've also got on Blizzards in the 85 range and then some Parlors that are 77. What do you think? I am leaning toward bringing the 105s.
Thank you!
I would bring the 93s. They'll do well in powder but will also do good on all the other terrain
Actually CDL’s trail is sometimes groomed, which is very nice.
Oh, that is nice. It seems to me that Copper has more groomed blacks than most ski areas? Is it just me that feels that way?
@@SRGSkiing Yeah I think they might. Breckinridge also has quite a few, but Copper is definitely up there I think
This is gonna be a weird question, but is there any place to camp near copper? Or even better, is there a parking lot they will let me sleep in?
Unlike most resorts, Copper will not permit you to sleep in any parking lots due to a bunch of political jargon involving the Summit County Government. There is the Tiger Run Resort between Breckenridge and Frisco, but staying there will depend on what you're intending to stay in. They only allow RVs, and will check it for aesthetics if it's old. Otherwise, there are a bunch of campgrounds around Dillon Reservoir. It depends a lot on when you plan to go and what you plan to stay in. If you would like, feel free to reach out to my email with some specifics and I'm sure I could help you out more.
Are there lots of snowboarders? Could you make a vid for snowboarders? I cant hit the moguls, again great stuff mate
Yep, there are plenty of other boarders at Copper. A video that may come up in the future is a guide to the best groomer pods in Colorado, but I won't be making any snowboarder-exclusive guides anytime soon, sorry. I appreciate the support!
Did you know Copper opened up some trails in the closed section below timberline lift?
If you're talking about Timber Road, then yes. It's absolutely awful. A lot like easy road but a bit wider. Requires pushing the whole way unless you're just a speed demon who comes flying down from the blues
@@SRGSkiing No I mean that this year they cut some new trails in what used to be a closed section downhill from Timber Road.
(To the left as you’re skiing) I’ve just seen them on the map I haven’t been there this year
Oh, I see. I actually did ski those. They're nice mild runs through the trees. Pine Cone Alley is just a touch narrow which is why it is a blue
hidden gem of a channel
yes
