    Great Job. Demystifies the removal process. Thank you. You joined two small pipes and then the filler with the clamps?

    Any tips for getting the new curved filler hose onto the fuel filler pipe. Struggling to slide my new pipe onto it. Was going to try dipping the end in hot water to try and expand it but don't want to damage a new pipe ?

      I can't remember for sure but I think I remember doing as you mentioned using hot water just enough to soften it a bit to enable it to go on easier.

    U think i can do this as a novice ?i have a t2 from 74 for 8 years it worked Ok only somme oil leaks and i took it to a mecanic to fix the oil leaks yeaterday i took it back after 3 months time that the guy kept it in His garage ,So as i was saying yesterday i picked it up drove it 7 km and started misfiring,and engine died ,it s trying to start but Doesn t ,took the fuel pump out gave it a key or two put the gas in a bottle and it has a red color with redish depozits on the bottom of the bottle ,now i m Gonna cut thegas pumphose line at the end where the filter goes in drown the gas of Gasoline and would it be wise to try to clean the tank without renoving it ?would that work ?i have to cut the rubber gasoline hose because the rubber is stuck on the mouth of the gasoline filter and i can t remove it

    Can you show me how the breather pipes are suppose to be ran? Do they connect to each other? All of the rubber pieces on mine rotted off and fuel leaks everywhere. When I cap them off, my van dies. When I leave them open gas leaks everywhere as soon as I turn her on. I can't find any diagrams for it or anyone who works on these old things. Thanks for any help you can provide, Will

      Both pipes should meet the T piece and then from there go to the air filter. Mine were connected to a vacuum port on the carb when I first got it!! Hope this info helps.

    can you leave the motor in it while removing the tank? or does it haft to come out

      If you have a Type 1 engine like I do you will need to drop the engine right down to get to the tank out. The problem is the fan housing. You can get access by removing the gearbox hanger bolts and lowering it while supporting it like you can see in my removing the firewall video but it won't be enough to get the tank out completely. If you have a Type 4 engine I believe it's a lot easier because you don't have the fan housing in the way. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      That was my exact question. It would have been extremely helpful to address this in the video I think...

    what year kombi/model is this one?

    • @T2BusCrazy
      @T2BusCrazy  7 років тому

      Gary Stinten mine is a 73 Latebay. The tank was a little tight fitting due to a stopper bolt at the bottom but you can squeeze it in. It might have been modified since i bought it.

      It's a 1973. Now the tank is bank in I can't get to it to measure I'm afraid.

      Gary Stinten Hi Gary, sorry its fitted now so not sure. I got it from megabug so they should be able to help with dimensions.
