Would have picked Ports in Age V as well. Counter Infantry Rifling (the arsenal tech that boosts skirmisher multiplier against heavy infantry) also applies to Daroods, so they would do double damage against musks.
Kevin should have gone for Ports, you can't go picking fights with redrocks without counter infantry rifling in late game. I also had good success going for Oromo instead of Somalis (because once the daroods are gone the alliance becomes useless since you can only train 10 of them which is not enough to fight back against artillery) and building up my influence with the extra goats to sustain artillery production late game.
I have a weird brits build where you go manner boom click to fortress with the make the merc scerms from the tavern, make musks and ship the skerms for 1000 coin and 1300 coin. Also have the mams card age 3 if i need a cav switch. It’s pretty decent imo

I feel a trade monopoly win is justified if your opponent is making 3 layers of walls with musket/falc behind them. fight lame with even more lame 21.
