If you count frames they both take 9 frames to draw and aim, the difference is that Cad drew on Hunter's mark and Hunter did not fire until after he was hit, despite having full extension. So they're about the same speed but if Cad were any SLOWER or had he not negated Hunter's head start by shooting from the hip, then Hunter would've likely won.

Hunter literally moved faster than Cad did, shown by his arm a moving further distance than Cad did in the same amount of time, but Cad moved more efficiently and that closed the gap. If Cad had gone for full extension or if Hunter had shot from the hip, Cad wouldn’t have been fast enough. The scene demonstrates how Cad has experience and how “experience outranks everything”. So despite Hunter being a super soldier he still falls to human issues like hesitation. Cad is a hardened cowboy, this is just another Thursday for him. He’s had 100 stand-offs and he has the confidence to sit there and draw on Hunter’s mark bc he knows that Hunter is already under pressure bc of Omega, he won’t be making good decisions and that’s exactly what we see with Hunter’s telegraphed draw, full extension, and then his hesitation.
Honestly he maybe should have been bc hunter actually outdrew bane but because he drew military style with his arm extended he couldn’t shoot faster. Bane is still the king but it’s not like hunter was slouching.
He did try, that’s just how he shoots. You see gunslingers don’t aim their arm OUT while firing, they learn how to aim from the hip. Bane’s pretty good at it, that’s why he mostly wins duels like these. Hunter was actual faster drawing his weapon but Cad only needed to raise it slightly to fire, Hunter stretched his arm- costing him valuable seconds.
I do think this is Prime Cad Bane here going toe to toe with Hunter. It shows how ruthless and skilled he is that he managed to outshoot an enhanced clone soldier like it was nothing, and then kidnap an innocent child.

Cab bane was a awesome character but i pretty sure boba Fett killed him i mean he might still be alive but i dont see why they bring him back he was in his 70s or 80s during the book of boba Fett
crazy it was truly a matter of skill and technique then speed and reflexes. Hunter was faster but Cad Bane shot from the hip, less movement rather then extend and shoot. Soldier vs. the Gunslinger the outcome was obvious even when i first saw this. Wanted my boy hunter to win this to but it was obvious the winner lol
