I have a question. How did the driver of a loco get the "go" from the guard? EMUs had the bell signal. With locos there's no looking back down the train, no visual signal I can see. How did it work? Thanks.

At 8:37 you see an RA light up on the signal, the platform staff press a button when ok to depart
