Story -:
The story is narrated by Salman, who moved with his family to Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Karachi, in 2004 due to his father’s job at the Steel Mill. Their new home was a rental property in a two-story building with four portions. Salman’s family lived on the ground floor, opposite their neighbors, Faisal and his family. The upper two portions were vacant.
One evening, when Salman’s mother took Faisal’s mother to the hospital, the children were left alone at Faisal’s house. As they played hide-and-seek during a stormy night with a power outage, Salman hid in the storage room, which felt unusually cold. As he waited quietly, he suddenly heard deep breathing near him and felt someone touch his hair. Terrified, he ran out, only to find Faisal and the others calling for him from the stairs. Meanwhile, Faisal’s younger brother, Haider, kept insisting that he saw a shadow upstairs, which Faisal himself had also glimpsed but chose to keep quiet to avoid scaring the younger kids.
That night, as the storm raged, Salman and Faisal couldn’t sleep, troubled by eerie thoughts. They soon started hearing footsteps from the upper floors, despite knowing the portions were empty. The following day, when Salman went to Faisal’s house with his mother, he tried to close the storage room door but felt resistance from inside, as if someone was holding it. When his mother closed it effortlessly, Salman realized something was terribly wrong.
Later, a new family moved into the upper floors. Soon after, mysterious knocking on doors began across all four portions late at night. The families, frightened, recited prayers. The next morning, an expert was called, who confirmed that the building-especially the storage room, staircase, and an empty adjacent plot-was under supernatural influence. A spiritual cleansing was performed, restoring peace to the house.
Salman’s family lived there for fifteen years without further disturbances, while Faisal’s family stayed for six years before moving elsewhere. However, their childhood horror experience remained unforgettable.
