Sarasota Police: Getting To Know Your SRO (School Resource Officer) at Brookside Middle School

School is starting soon for students in the City of Sarasota. As kids head back to class, the Sarasota Police Department wanted to take an opportunity to introduce your School Resource Officers.
As of August 2014, in the City of Sarasota, there are three (3) School Resource Officers. Officer Todd Perna is assigned to Brookside Middle, Officer Sheldon Cantrell is assigned to Sarasota High and Officer Chris Devaney is assigned to Booker High. Sergeant Eric Bolden is the Supervisor of the School Resource Unit.
In Sarasota County, each high school and middle school has a School Resource Officer. In the City of Sarasota, there are only two high schools and one middle school. That is why we have an officer at each of the high schools and then one at the only middle school in the city limits.
