So, start fixing the all star game by making this rule change. Some may agree or disagree but I can almost guarantee it will be a good start to making the game better!
"It's really not that hard to fix" You're about to say something stupid... were the solution "that simple", greater minds would've already implemented it. "Winner gets home court" And THERE'S the stupidity!! Wanting exhibition games to affect regular season games is dumb. Players are already load managing and happy just to make the tournament, as few to no teams have an ACTUAL "advantage" at home. Sure, Denver have "altitude"... but most arenas are "sanitised safe spaces", and with such player movement, no true "home crowd" is ever formed. It's just the male version of "WNBA needs to lower the rim".
If I'm an All Star on a bad team (say Melo as a Knick or SGA last year) why would be "incentivised" by "home court in the Finals" when I won't even make the Playoffs?? If I'm Jokic/Tatum, I'm already the number 1 seed or can get it organically. So again, where's the value/incentives?
Suggestion 1: Next year's allstar game should be old school vs new school. I.e. Old school team LeBron . New school team Antman. 🤷🏻.I think we could get some juice some defense out. Suggestion 2: Expand the bench by 2 players. Limit the time players can be on the floor. Blocks and steals earn player's extra minutes. Players can even gift their earned time to other players. Suggestion 3: and this is where I need you guy's help. Royal Rumble style Allstar game. Not fighting but what I loved about the wwf royal rumble was the countdown /anticipation of the next person coming in. The crowd would all join in, so exciting.
The biggest problem is the big money players are paid these days. They just don't have the same motivation players had in the past. I mean you have pretty average players making 20 million a year. This will be a problem for the NBA going forward and figuring out how to get these guys motivated to compete consistently. Adam Silver has been weak. A new comissioner that isn't afraid of the players would help.
Money is an illusion Players don't work hard because they don't get paid millions They are spoiled brats who have ruined the game because all they want is $
Where did you get that from? Please tell me what you’re basing that on? And are you seriously saying that they should be paid less even though they’re making the NBA more money than ever? I’m sure you’re just as willing to do that at your job, right? I don’t think you’re working as hard as you used to when you were paid less. So let’s strip your raise.
The players are the same as they always been. It’s the people making the rules that are making it a dismal sport to watch for the people watching. The ability to control the game and make bets . Getting crappy calls wrong and having technology to fix and then they don’t fix it. So many things wrong but it isn’t the players. The all star game doesn’t have enough impact on their career. It’s all about the rings not the all star game. Just me.
My idea: 3x3 tourney for all stars. 4-6 team tourney, play to 27 or whatever so it can be completed im a couole hours. I think 3x3 would spur competition, especially with a winning purse.
The NBA is garbage! Don’t believe me, here’s proof: 1. Traveling hardly ever called. 2. Carrying the basketball allowed. 3. Palming the basketball allowed. 4. #2 and #3 means a player “ has handles”. 5. No emphasis on playing Defense. 6. Rules that favor the Offense. 7. Outrageous final scores ( see # 5 and #6) 8. Rampant Iso ball 9. Load management 10. Divas/entitled players 11. Questionable officiating It’s absolute trash!
If its trash today, then its been trash. Theres no way ppl can go actually go back and watch the games and say they are better games than today. Its all nostalgia.

Lets talk about how much lebrons face and head have changed since 2010ish. Insane structural changes. Cream and clear type stuff. Can we also talk about the free throw discrepancy? The nba is blatantly carrying lebron. Its embarrassing
@@robertw174I get that, I think the most suspect thing of Bron is the growth that he had to remove from his jaw way back and also his name on certain lists in certain clinics
It's more of the quranteed contracts that's mostly at the helm of this problem ...Once a player signs , he immediately goes into cruise control....and that's Factual 💯
The problem is not because of the money or injuries. In order to fix the game we have to fix the mentality of these players. They flat out don’t care. They don’t care because it’s a reflection of the culture of this country. We say we’re the greatest country or #1 in everything but that was in the past. We’re doing nothing to uphold that standard and posture as if we still are. The US NBA players think they’re so good that they can’t be touched bc of the reputation the past stars built. But now we’re getting beat on the international stage. They make excuses to say we’re not sending our best. However, our best doesn’t want to compete. The mentality is at an all time low bc we’re praising guys as the best who don’t deserve it.
What they need to do is scrap the skills challenge. Have the celebritiy game Friday the right after that have the WNBA all stars play the top 15 HS boys Then Saturday have the dunk contest and the 3 point contest Sunday have the allstar game but fine the players who don’t show any effort because they’re wasting a roster spot
Tatum DOESN'T NEED "exhibition game" to secure HCA!! So WHERE is the incentive FOR THE BEST TEAM IN THE NBA???? Last year, #1 MIL didn't make the Finals. So DEN got HCA by record... But you'd want EIGHT SEED Miami to get HCA because "exhibition game won by the Eastern Conference"??? 73-9 GSW need help to get the #1 seed???
I think theres a case to be made that the regular season should be shortened by about 20 games. That way less wear and tear throughout the year and more of a chance of players playing harder. Alot of these sports leagues seasons are too long especially baseball
Simple fix... Keep the 3 point contest, make the dunk contest feature "STREETBALL DUDES" who can compete against NBA players, make the ALL-STAR GAME FINALE a tournament of 3 vs 3 (first to score 10 points wins, every basket is 1 point). The tournament would be the best 3 players from a selection of like 50 countries. Let's get creative, and share ideas, I want to see more competition at the NBA ALL-STAR GAME!
This dummy wrecked the game and now acts like the only way to fix things is now to start by getting rid of the Allstar game. Notice how Silver doesn't even mention the fans.
They should threaten to take away the whole All Star weekend so that players don't get a 4-5 day break in the middle of the season. I bet that would give players incentive to play harder for one more game.
Lol, they don't care because it wouldn't erase their guaranteed contracts. It'll just make it one step harder to get to those contracts, but they're making so much money now that it hardly matters. 💸💰
The media literally will say "dont matter till you do it in the playoffs" now yall want players to give their all during a time where "it dont matter?" Make up yall mind man.
I think the all star game needs to have all 1st team offense and all 1st team defensive players incorporated. Them defensive guys will make the game competitive.
Its the nba its beyond saving atm.. The game has been taken over by overpaid prima donnas.. Ive always said it Mj gave the best quote on oprah regarding this.. When u give some1 too much they are not going to try as hard.. We have millionare players who are mediocre at best n the only reason they look any good is because the game officially killed defence..
We have players risking injury right now so they get selected as an All NBA or allstar and get a $45mm bonus. But they see no need to put on a decent show for fans. Insane!!!
I disagree, a solution would be to change the schedule. Everyone knows the day before vacation you do the absolutely least! So the answer is reg season games end on a Sunday. Players get Mon - Thursday off. Friday Allstar weekend begins, Saturday events, Sunday is the game. Monday everyone flies to their city. Tuesday is off day. Wednesday the games resume. I actually think giving the players a break before the game, you will actually get a better performance from them.
Get rid of the All-Star Weekend and instead hold an Invitational Tournament at the end of the season, complete with all of the usual All-Star Weekend events. I say the end of the season so that players don't have an excuse about being tired or using it as time off as an excuse not to play hard. Let there be a trophy, a financial award, and an MVP. Hell, add a defensive award to it too. Invite all of your usual All-Stars and if they don't play hard, don't invite them back. Let the players who actually want to put on a real show for the fans have a chance to raise their profile by impressing the fans who buy/tune into it. I envision a game where the likes of LeBron and Harden go once and never again, because they chose not to really play, and the likes of D'Aaron Fox or Alperen Sengun get to shine: Legit stars who don't make the usual All-Star game due to bigger (lazier) names being in the way. Make these lazy superstars have to deserve being invited to such an event rather than it just being a popularity contest where some of these guys who will actually try have a chance to make a name for themselves.
Bring back physical basketball/handchecking etc, get rid of the play in tournament you dont perform you dont make the playoffs period. No more load management, you miss games without being injured you lose your paycheck for that game.
This is my solution and I think it will work I don't even need credit for it whoever wins the All Star game East or West the whole conference gets a win, the conference that loses gets a loss in a 83 Game season. This way you're playing for the whole conference.
It’s the media personalities and talk shows like this putting so much emphasis on a championship. It’s if you don’t win a ring you’re not an all time great. So players want to be healthy in the post season giving them the best chance to win a ring and not be a Charles Barkley at the table with Kenny, and shaq.
Yup they do this and then wonder why the regular season isn’t as valued as it once was You can’t have your cake and eat it lol, honestly it all started when greatest of all time debates just divulged into how many rings you got, not saying rings aren’t important that would be idiotic but they made it everything and disregarded everything else
the funny thing is this is the CLEAR proof that the players are not as good as they used to be in the nba stop mentioning INJURIES as the reason for NOT PLAYING HARD athletes KNOW that the easiest way to GET injured is to "dog it" (not hustle with concentration on your craft) while playing a high octane sport so please stop
Rob kinda got a point..Any boss o ever had that was "soft" or a employees boss ,was usually that way cause we produce at a high enough level where they didn't have to be so strict
The NBA has to make the all star game be a competition between NBA players and g-league players. The NBA players would have to compete, or they would be embarrassed worldwide.
It just gets made fun of or criticized now. Do away with it. Honor the All-stars another way, still have the 3-point, Dunk and Skills challenges, and add another skills/shooting challenge or two and some other entertainment (how about Logo or half-court contest, HORSE, a 2K tournament, some things like that), funny and engaging interviews and player content to "All-Star Weekend," but you don't have to actually play a phony game.
@@hideaway9686 Why have a 3pt contest when that's essentially EVERY GAME now?? Why have a dunk contest of we need drag in G-Leaguers?? Maybe we could get a girl to shoot 3s, cos heaven knows we don't see enough 3pt attempts... JORDAN WEPT!!
It can be saved. Do the USA vs the World. Have foreign players from leagues overseas and foreign-born players here on one team vs American born players. Or how about one nation's national team vs the NBA all-stars? Serbia, Lithuania, France, Greece or Spain. Maybe 3 games during the weekend. That would be fun.
Contracts should be drawn on a yearly performance basis. But for that to happen the league needs a reboot. Players jobs should be threatened by fans not watching games in arenas and on TV

Suggestion 2:
Expand the bench by 2 players.
Someone call Gordon Ramsay or Jon from Bar Rescue to come & look at upper management in the league starting with Adam Silver.
Money is an illusion
Players don't work hard because they don't get paid millions
They are spoiled brats who have ruined the game because all they want is $
Where did you get that from? Please tell me what you’re basing that on? And are you seriously saying that they should be paid less even though they’re making the NBA more money than ever? I’m sure you’re just as willing to do that at your job, right? I don’t think you’re working as hard as you used to when you were paid less. So let’s strip your raise.
@@rickyrobby8133
The NBA has lost 30+ million viewers since 1998 … there’s some facts for you …
The players are the same as they always been. Just me.
Let's have a Thanasis challenge. Thanasis takes on random fans for a 1v1 challenge
It is solely all on the players there is nothing the league can do….all effort nothing more nothing less
My idea: 3x3 tourney for all stars. 4-6 team tourney, play to 27 or whatever so it can be completed im a couole hours.
I think 3x3 would spur competition, especially with a winning purse.
Horrible idea. The rising stars do something like this and it’s an absolute disaster.
GO WATCH "BIG3"!!

The NBA is garbage!
Don’t believe me, here’s proof:
1. Traveling hardly ever called.
2. Carrying the basketball allowed.
3. Palming the basketball allowed.
4. #2 and #3 means a player “ has handles”.
5. No emphasis on playing Defense.
6. Rules that favor the Offense.
7. Outrageous final scores ( see # 5 and #6)
8. Rampant Iso ball
9. Load management
10. Divas/entitled players
11. Questionable officiating
It’s absolute trash!
The actually question is.... is the NBA beyond saving? It's a trash product.
Bingo
If its trash today, then its been trash. Theres no way ppl can go actually go back and watch the games and say they are better games than today. Its all nostalgia.
@@javon1134how can you prove your theory then? In other words, that’s just your opinion. It’s not a fact
Steph Curry broke the NBA. It will never be the same.
@@javon1134stop it. The players were more skilled in the previous eras than this one. It is not even close. We have film to prove that
lol…I remember when Run DMC tried to go gangster with their 1990 album Back from Hell, and their mid 1990’s album Down With the King. Their lyrics got edgier and they even started cursing too…They even tried wearing all black and high black combat boots too. They didn’t quite fit in with that harder style either.
Always look at the source of the problem: The 1 Single Problem: ADAM FCKN SILVER
Lets talk about how much lebrons face and head have changed since 2010ish. Insane structural changes. Cream and clear type stuff. Can we also talk about the free throw discrepancy? The nba is blatantly carrying lebron. Its embarrassing
Not saying Bron isn’t using PEDS but your body changes physically and structurally as you age it’s a part of life

@@HeathOverledger spread the word
Have the celebritiy game Friday the right after that have the WNBA all stars play the top 15 HS boys
Then Saturday have the dunk contest and the 3 point contest
Sunday have the allstar game but fine the players who don’t show any effort because they’re wasting a roster spot
The only way to save the NBA All Star game is for the game to count towards home court advantage in the Finals. Anything less will be insufficient.
That still don't make a difference or does it make any sense
@@anthonytaylor7928 🤡
@@anthonytaylor7928 stop eating lead paint chips
You do that and you take way incentive from teams to try and win as many games as possible in the regular season
David Stern literally punished the Spurs for not playing star players but players are actively taking games off for rest today.
Stern was the goat commissioner
Chris...Alladin pants.. lol😂
All it takes is 1-2 alphas taking the game seriously. The leader of the NBA players is a Lebron and he’s soft. Once Lebron goes, it gets better.
LeBum destroyed the NBA making into friends league
The NBA all star game yes. But all star weekend as a whole no. They just need to do 1 on 1, can’t get more competitive than that.
They will still say they don’t wanna get hurt playing 1 on 1
Players DO NOT want to compete!
We need a FRESH CROP OF PLAYERS!!
And NEW LEADERSHIP!!
Turn off the MAGNETICS and the game will be way better and real
Its the nba its beyond saving atm.. The game has been taken over by overpaid prima donnas.. Ive always said it Mj gave the best quote on oprah regarding this.. When u give some1 too much they are not going to try as hard..
We have millionare players who are mediocre at best n the only reason they look any good is because the game officially killed defence..
NBA vs G-League. If g-league wins they get the nba players all star bonus
We have players risking injury right now so they get selected as an All NBA or allstar and get a $45mm bonus.
But they see no need to put on a decent show for fans. Insane!!!
A wait for this?? Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Make the winning conference of the all star game get home court advantage in the finials like mlb
I never heard so many people that claim not to watch the current NBA complain about the All Star game.
Just make every basket worth 2 during the all star game
Yes, it IS beyond saving, it's a culture issue
This is my solution and I think it will work I don't even need credit for it whoever wins the All Star game East or West the whole conference gets a win, the conference that loses gets a loss in a 83 Game season.
This way you're playing for the whole conference.
It’s the media personalities and talk shows like this putting so much emphasis on a championship. It’s if you don’t win a ring you’re not an all time great. So players want to be healthy in the post season giving them the best chance to win a ring and not be a Charles Barkley at the table with Kenny, and shaq.
So ur saying Charles Barkley didn't win because he played 82 games?? What...
100% right.
Yup they do this and then wonder why the regular season isn’t as valued as it once was
You can’t have your cake and eat it lol, honestly it all started when greatest of all time debates just divulged into how many rings you got, not saying rings aren’t important that would be idiotic but they made it everything and disregarded everything else
That all star game was the worst in NBA history. Nothing else needs to be said. They should be ashamed of themselves.
the funny thing is this is the CLEAR proof that the players are not as good as they used to be in the nba
stop mentioning INJURIES as the reason for NOT PLAYING HARD
athletes KNOW that the easiest way to GET injured is to "dog it" (not hustle with concentration on your craft) while playing a high octane sport so please stop

@@josiahandre_ brush up on your reading skills homie; thats all it is

“Playoff level intensity”. 😂😂

The NBA has to make the all star game be a competition between NBA players and g-league players.
The NBA players would have to compete, or they would be embarrassed worldwide.
They are letting the players get away with too much
Move it to two weeks after the finals. Guarantee it will be better.
I completely agree

It can be saved. Do the USA vs the World. Have foreign players from leagues overseas and foreign-born players here on one team vs American born players. Or how about one nation's national team vs the NBA all-stars? Serbia, Lithuania, France, Greece or Spain. Maybe 3 games during the weekend. That would be fun.
Adam silver is the worst commissioner he too lenient
Mf hammer was the real deal 👀👀 if you know you know
Contracts should be drawn on a yearly performance basis. But for that to happen the league needs a reboot. Players jobs should be threatened by fans not watching games in arenas and on TV
The commissioner gave them an inch and the players took it a mile
You can't even look forward to the Marquee matchups during the regular season either. A star player is always sitting even on those games.
