I love that color of Series Gray with the black accents. It also has a nice performance motor and Subaru builds the safest cars. The Subaru AWD System rivals that of Audi and having the guts to still provide a 6 speed manual is awesome. The WRX is a sweet ride for sure. Great review.
I think most dealerships remove the tint on their used vehicles that way they can up charge you for tint when you by the vehicle. I traded my 370z to a dealership a few years ago and when I went back a week later I saw it on the lot with the tint removed. They do that so they can sell you their tint work which is crazy over priced.
...that's ludacris. 1) it's extra work that doesn't guarantee a sale. 2) they could damage the vehicle (rear window) causing more money spent. 3)they can ask for more money up front because it has tint installed and it's a favorable option, especially in FL. 4)the car is more desirable with tint (even if it is darker than state tint law)
@@K03sport doesnt explain why every vehicle I've bought I had to add tint and the fact they removed it from my 370z. Just commented based on experience

Wrx is actually one of those cars where its actually probably better to buy it new. Shoot 2011 sti are still selling for 20k and new they were only 37k. Thats actually not a very big depreciation compared to most others. I usually buy used cars as well(just got a 2017 outback 2.5 limited for 20k) and got my 2011 legacy 3.6r limited for 16k 5 years ago. Much better than the original 32k and 34k new respectively.
@@kbellanti the problem is a lot of owners know people look for stock ons so they keep all the old parts and switch them back when they sell it. So you are buying a car that is "stock" when it really wasnt.
You can find them stock and taken care of. You just have to look around. I bought a stock 2013 with only 23,000 miles on it, back in 2018. The car was babied by the previous owner. All records for everything.
I love the color and the blacked out wheels. I think I might prefer competitors in this segment but I know Subaru has its die-hard fans for a reason. I remember when this first came out, reviewers talked a lot about how rough it rode. That plus 21mpg would be enough for me to pass.
Yes, any of these Series.color cars and/or limited trims are the better buys. In hindsight, after 1 yr/15k miles in my '19 base WRX, I should have gone limited or series.white (or Genesis G70 6m), but even the higher trim cars aren't perfect. However, reasons why I didn't were based around color (and no sunroof). I did not want a white, black, or silver car. Gray was acceptable as a #4 option. All the limiteds available at time of purchase (at my dealer) were black, white, silver and grey. 👎. Premium trims were available in WRB, lapis blue, silver and black. I picked my pure red base 4 days before delivery (still in transit). The heated seats would have been nice, but the sunroof is a throw away option in my book. ALL trims of VA chassis WRX suffer from a lot of the same flaws in drivetrain, suspension and interior. Going limited or series.color helps lessen (not eliminate) or make the flaws more tolerable. The car still needs help in many key areas. Unless you are going to modify the beegeejus out of the car, skip the base trim, and look to higher trims. Lesson learned, never buy a base trim Subaru (any model).
Thats a nice one, I'm loving that gray color as much as I did for that Mazda carbon review you did. Unfortunately I need to learned how to drive stick😔 if I ever want one. Good video as always 👍 👌 👏
Great package you get from the Series Gray! I would agree stay on the stock side when looking for a used Subaru WRX or STI. And yes just a little things added like the short throw shifter can make that car even more fun to drive. Always love the Series Gray color of course and you know you have something special when you get one. Fun cars and I still love my 2015 STI that has over 90,000 miles on it.
So I’m slightly confused by the title of he video. I specifically waited to hear if the wrx grey edition was the best used wrx. You basically said this particular one was. It sort of smacks like a used car commercial. It feels sometimes like you’re doing paid media with clickbait titles. If these car dealerships aren’t paying you, they definitely, definitely should.
...if in the market for a WRX of this vintage (VA chassis), look at the series.color or limited trims for the best experience. Premium trims are good/okay too, but the other 2 are a better route. The only reason to buy a base trim is if you are going to modify the living daylights out of the car and junk most of the stock components. I have a '19 base and just added an AWE Touring exhaust (first mod). I guess I need to get a Cobb AP next to make more improvements. But the list is longer than that...happy car hunting.
