Excellent railway and video. My 5” railway is also fully signalled using a mixture of colour lights and semaphores. I use to tablet machines for control. Sooo much fun!! Every home should have one!!
Brilliant trackplan, the operational signal box is the real scene stealer and of course the baby deltic and the other locos and rolling stock, love it.
It is so cool!!! There is so much track and it is amazing that the signal box controls the railway. There are also so many wagons and good job in the signal box. Rory
hello mate! Thanks yeah its performed really well! James is very happy with it. I must get him to give you a call actually, as we want to come and run at northampton! :-) hope you are well.
@@rivergladesgardenrailroad8834 Completely agree. This set-up is way beyond "model railway" in every way. This is a proper full-blown railway system, just a wee bit smaller than standard gauge. I'd love to see a really full-on operating session, with signallers on duty and a good number of trains running.
That is such a fun day out running your loco’s…I’d love to run mine with a full rake of coaches! How do you get invited to run on such layouts you lucky sods!!!
Wow how much would it cost to build say a class 37/40/45) locomotive from scratch as I might build one over winter they're fascinating and definitely cool I loved all the locomotives the baby deltic is nice definitely worth the time it takes to build one!!! 😎👏👏👏
looks like an excellent day out and a fine job of signalman if I may say so. Did you get those pennies back from James although considering where they have been you may not want them.............Cheers Kev
@@UndergroundEric Wow super impressive 😁 very talented ! I’ve got Doug Hewson’s wagon book and plans but I’ve never been able to find Mk1 plans anywhere. Looks like I will finally have to get to grips with CAD lol 😂
What do you have? Unfortunately we cant really be inviting random people we dont know though im afraid. Nothing against you. We get loads of people asking about it!
The model locomotive hauling the passenger rake does *not* look like a Deltic (Class 55). It *does* however bear resemblance to the later Class 37 (EE Type 3) locomotive. So don't know why you're calling this a 'Deltic'. Deltic's are characterised by having a longer 'snout', with driver observation through two-pane, split screen windows There are also six rounded, rectangular windows along both sides, unlike the Class 37's, which have two rectangular windows per side, with a three-pane windscreen at each end. Other aesthetic distinctions are the various louvered grills and air-intakes which are distinctly unique to each class. Thus, this model is a vague representation of a standard Class 37, which do *not* use the Napier Deltic engine as it's prime mover. The 'Deltics' (nickname) were exclusive to the Class 55, the prime movers being - the Napier 'Deltic' D18-25 motors (two-stroke - triple-crank, delta configuration) Whereas the CLass 37 used the EE 12CSVT diesel motors as its prime movers. Both classes use the 'Co-Co' bogie configuration (3x DC electric tractive axels x 2 bogies x2 prime mover diesel motors via 2x DC generators) whilst this model appears to only have two (tractive?) axles per bogie. So not expecially authentic then.... All very well having authentic trackwork, but the rolling stock lets that down... Not to mention the lack of concertina coverings on the passenger car, inter-carriage gangways. Which is the same glaringly obvious omission to just about every model passenger train I've ever seen. ===================================================================================================================== References [wiki refers] *English Electric/BR Class 55 - Diesel Locomotive* Prototype - DP1 - [Deltic Power unit One]. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_55 *BR Class 37 (EE/BR) - Standard Universal Diesel Locomotive (Note the resemblence to this model)* en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_37 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And.... Deebz270 clearly you arent much of a locomotive enthusiast, agreed. As if you were you wouldnt have just wrote such a stupid comment and made yourself look foolish. If you READ the title rather than try to be a smartass it is a BABY deltic. A class 23 - which has a single Napier Deltic engine. As for the passenger coaches, where are yours then? As obviously you can do better! Dear oh dear........ 🤔🙄

Awesome sound from that branch line crossing!
Its lovely eh
What a fantastic layout, and such a lot of thought and work that has been put into what must give hours of fun and satifaction.
Yes, love the Nissan Bluebird! Great set up and trains too. Amazing, subscribed.

Impressive layout. Swavesey is a nice place to live. Good community vibe.👏
Its a lovely area i must admit
I really enjoyed the signaling bit I would like to see some more of it, also I enjoyed watching the 08

So wonderful for the owner to share this...
So glad you are enjoying the Deltic. Great to see on ground level. Nice track.

Um.... NOT a 'Deltic'...
Deebz270 go and do some research! Doh
Enjoy the video thanks very much.
Really enjoyed the video 😁😁😁😁😁
So glad to hear it!
That signalbox makes dcc look boring, must be great fun to operate, especially if it gets busy.👍👌😁
Love it...how skilled engineer does one have to be to build that...
Hats off...

Probably 3-4 thousand for a kit ect mate, but well worth it. A lot of fun

Thanks pal! Yeah its so nice to get out in the sun with some pals!
I think they are long gone mate, he is like a slot machine 😂
Fab vid, a fun day was had by all 😊 I like the Mk1’s were they built from the Maxitrak kit or were they scratch built from plans ?
Super fun! The mk1s were all built by Brent who owns the railway, they are his own design. Laser cut steel sides ect

What a cool place, I wish the Hull & District Society of Model and Experimental Engineers
Where do you even start to build a thing like that!?
Il have to go back 25+ years and ask! Haha. Wish i had the space!
Can you tell me who's sound is in the class 23 ? Thanks
@@derekwarrington9503 its just an old Traxx sound unit. Very basic

This is just spectacular, was that a Nissan Bluebird?
Thankyou!!! Hell yeah it was 😆
Eric My neighbour had a bluebird loved the shape of it. There is one near to where I live now but it’s seen better days sadly.
Ahhh thats a shame! Its pretty cool to see old motors still running about! The deltic fits straight in the back too!
God damn

Well. Sorry but as you say, it is not a Deltic, but a Baby Deltic, one of a few built with one Napier Deltic engine, where as the Deltic has two.
If in doubt, Google it!!!
