Just checked, didn't have any trouble with the tame with the parent in a trap.
The baby still played with me multiple times and tamed up.
The parent was in the box nearby for the entire duration.
I like playing ark but don’t wanna dedicate my weekends and free time getting mutations, do you think I necessarily need them to play the game?
@@gtfahy7626 They are hard work but deifnetly pay off and are amazing to get overall but to play the game they aren't a 100% necessary must have thing. You can beat bosses and still play easily with no trouble without them
I posted this on the previous video but I think it would be helpful to post it again, sorry. I did testing on the Gigantoraptor and here are my findings.
If the parent gets too far from the nest the baby can no longer be tamed/imprinted, but if you bring it back, for example with a Rhynio, you can continue the taming.
Creatures bonded to Gigantos have 10% damage resistance while within 100 meters. It may be that cryopoding messes with the bonded status, not sure. You can have at least 12 creatures bonded to one Giganto, haven't tested if it can be more than 12.
The alloparenting buff is a 2% increase in damage and a 1% increase in xp gains for the gigantoraptor per stack, up to 25 times. 5 stacks are obtained from bonding with a baby (killing the creatures with a red marker) and one stack is obtained each time a bonded creature gets a kill. This means if you take a Gigantoraptor into a boss fight, as long as all of your boss fighters are bonded to it they will have 10% damage resist and, as long as minions are continuously killed, the Giganto maintains a 50% damage increase. At 15 stacks the buff also gives the Giganto 10% increased movement speed.
The feather plucked from a Giganto is determined by its base stats. The highest base stat of the creature is the type that the feather will be (oxygen, melee, etc) and the percentage chance is calculated like so: 55 + (roughly .1342 * the base stat) up to a cap of 75. So if a Giganto's highest stat is melee at 50, the feather from it would be 55 + (.1342 * 50) = 55 + 6.71 = 61.71, so a 61.71% chance to take the higher melee stat of the parents.
Placing a feather in the inventory of the mother will cause it to be consumed at the point of egg laying/beginning gestation for mammals and do exactly as the feather says; increase the chance for the higher stat being taken for that egg/baby. I thought it was either parent but after seeing Syntac put it in the father's inventory and it not be consumed I have to imagine it only works in the mother's inventory.

Question, could you use multiple feathers for one egg or is it only one at a time?
so this means the highest possible percentage on a feather would be 65,065 %
what if you bred them up and increased the base stats? would that work to get a higher percentage
@@th3gr1zzlyk1ng8 One at a time, I had 2 Gigantoraptors breeding with 4 different feathers in the female's inventory and it consumed one seemingly at random, might have been first one in order but definitely wasn't the highest percentage one.
@@TheEleonore18 The highest percentage a feather can have is 75%. In order to get this you would need at least (75-55)/.1342 = 149, so 149 points into a single stat. Any stat above 149 would still give a 75% feather. Hope this clears up any confusion.

The feathers only work on the female dino you want to breed, and they get used up when an egg is laid.

More or less. I still don't want to create any hopes. Remember the new creatures are being added because FANS developed them and they gave the ideas. Wildcard sometimes modifies the creatures, but still. Not that I don't like the gigantoraptor, it is a very nice creature

The gigant is a mod so it’s technically not on any map it can be on all maps I hope that is not the case for the other creatures I want them to be special to their maps

idk if its been mentioned by anyone yet, but if one has a tamed giganto raptor, it can imprint on orphan babies meaning if a parent of one dies, and you have one of your own, you can use your gigantoraptor to imprint on the orphaned one. I found this very useful for when i find a nest but the parent ends up getting killed.
Have you tried using the feather on the female breeder? Wonder if it gets used up from her laying the egg or starting gestation. Also you can check to see what buffs your Dino has under the ancestor list tab
I'm glad is paused playing on my breeding world while this was being released. This will change so much about large breeding for stats. You will be able to easily mix final parents and make perfect male and females so much easier based on the mother-consumes-feather mechanic. And moving a mutated stat from a female back to a male during a partially bad generation gets much easier than the piddly 26% chance now.
I would 100% watch a breakdown of the Gigantoraptor. ❤
Haven't had the chance to play the mod yet but maybe attack it like how the maewing picked up babies
I guess a good way to test the feather percentage would be breed 100 babies and see how many per 100 get the good stat although heavily reliant on RNG if you did that a few times and compare them to the previous batch number-wise maybe you can see a pattern
I mean it doesnt matter if its heavy rng if you want to know the numbers as long as you have a good sample batch to test it on,100 gives you a decent idea 1000 gives the right number (or at the very least extremely close to the actual %) since were talking ark 1000 breed sample size is good if were talking mmo probably gotta go 5-10k sample size especially with the likes of runescape black desert etc
Syntac are you gonna plan an ultimate ascension similar to you’re ultimate ark if so that’ll be cool but if not I understand

A curiosity i have is will the feathers stack for instance will 5 health feathers stack or just the highest % out of those 5 and will the feathers only count if carried by the parent and the young or just the parent.

Oddly enough the gigantoraptor can fly.... kind of. If you hold space bar it flies like a terror bird and eases the fall damage. 😊

You ca do a dino wipe to fix it,if you dont know how to do that just look it up,now i am not 100% sure this will work

Ark survival ascended sucks I can’t even play when i load up the game i crash I crash immediately I can’t even load in as soon as I get on the map I crash and when I log back in I crash immediately this game is a cash grab they need to just shut down the game

Remember, they cant fix the new issues or the old issues that showed up in the totally new code....but they can stick their arm right up the new dinos rear to tweak the QoL hack we found to make sure its still hard. They don't have the man power to fix r up the way the community has been asking but holy moly they hit the pass up for this fix. Hey im Snail and i moved 60-70% of the jobs that were created for this game over to china where we gotta now hire smaller US teams to do the work cause we cant....ark logic irl. I went back to ASE. Ill be back when the new maps are out. Hopefully the real die hard fans can buy the paid mods and let us know how it is. Im not giving them anymore money for asa until its improved to a level that deserves more money. inflation is hitting the US and a Chinese game with English support needs to be darn tootin before i struggle for another countries game that isn't aligned with providing for everyone but instead focuses on their own. Multiple occasions my pillars were switched to Chinese tribes when im locking in xp note locations. I get raft spammed and the GM cant find the location lol. ASE has a stronger community atm. Most are vets that like the game as much as i do. remember the things they are doing and how they are prioritizing the changes. A mobile game company does not want easy unless its a paid option they offer. that is the future of asa.

You can get the egg into the basket by left-clicking the egg in gigaraptor inventory and in middle you'll see "put egg into left/right basket" it incubates the egg and you can hatch it inside the basket too. Also, try jumping from your base no using elevator needed you will get pretty far only with the "glide"
The gigaraptor feathers bring some insane QoL to breeding I love it
For real, even with upped rates and some mods my friend still took a week to get a base pair on his rhinos. This will be amazing for breeders

Unrelated to the video but I just noticed Syntac passed 1.5 million subs, that's just absolutely unreal! 1 mil wasn't that long ago and when I started watching back when Rag came out I think Syn only had maybe like 200-300k subs, so it's just absolutely awesome to see how much the channel has grown and it honestly couldn't be more deserved, lits of respect for youtubers who actually edit their own videos cus that's the actual hard part.

I'd love to know if the gigantoraptor feather works with the rhyniognatha taming if you put the feather in the dinosaur you get impregnated. as they act as one of the "parents"

It only consume 1 feather per breeding session at random if you put more than 1 feather.
So better have what thats you need to pass on.

I did try moving the parent Gigantoraptor far away from the nest and baby with a Rhynio but the baby just teleports to the parent after it's moved a certain distance.

So many ways to get a Gigantoraptor. I like using the Billboard method. Walling it off is best if the nests in a hostile area to.
You can def get saddles for them, one of my tribemates got a 79.6 MC saddle for one about 10 minutes into her logging in

If the Giganto is a lower lvl than the baby you are trying to imprint It wont let you. Your Giganto has to be a higher lvl so you can't just get a low lvl one to instantly get a higher lvl one
Soo the feather has to be consumed by the female and i think you might be able to pick things up with holding R maybe ?
Great video, I played around with using the gigantoraptor to claim orphan ones, works easy enough but doesn't receive the additional taming levels you get from taming it the normal way.

So if I find a lowlevel.. instead of killing it I should tame it quickly.. then go around the map for a max level
I doubt this would work, but have you tried refreshing the baby's imprint option with a different Gigantoraptor adult?
I had trouble getting one to spawn in, but eventually after I purged a mod I suspected of tampering with therispawns, and a dino wipe later found a 150 and tamed it up!
You put the feather in a mother dino that is breeding it will consume the feather and has high chance to pass that state on feather to baby that hatches
The feathers do get used up in breeding. You put yours on the male. You actually need to put it on the female. Stay in her inventory as she lays an egg and you will see it disappear.
I expect nothing from this comment but I would love for you to appear in second wave survivors.
So after doing some research, the feathers do get used up, you need to put them in the female dino's inventory for them to work, so without a reliable way to get high percentage feathers its not really worth it.
The feather percentages seem to be based on the gigaraptor's base stats.
The feathers are nice, but normal breeding you have a 50% chance on getting the better stat anyway. So it's only a 10% increase. Which is great, but not amazing.
If you kill the parents and then you claimbthe baby with your gigantoraptor he wont get get taming extra levels

Other people may have mentioned it but the innate breeding chance is 55% towards the higher stat so while 1% increase vs a 4% increase doesn't sound massive it is actually a decently large change towards helping you, doesn't seem like it will be crazy for mutation stacking since apparently it uses it in the mother, but getting your original breeding pair can definitely be sped up
If you get a mutation onto a female baby, you could work on using the feather to get the mutation to a male baby. Of course you could always try and keep breeding the main breeders to get the mutation again but on a male instead.

I bred and mutated some gigantoraptors and my main one ended up a really vibrant blue and orange, named it sonic haha
8:46 do you really want to use behemoth gates or would you rather use a dinosaur gates the regular sized ones the medium dinosaur gates, far far cheaper than behemoth gates
Materials are obviously a big thing but set up time is also a factor and on good terrain you could make the behemoth trap before the parent notices

Man your such an awesome youtuber, whenever i wonder something about Ark your the first that comes to mind! Im not a pro in Ark im pretty good at the basic beginning game survival but have never delved into caves, beat bosses, or done anything much other than survive and tame. I was looking at all your playlists of Ark and was searching for one that is just basic Ark Survival Evolved, no mods, just a playthrough of the game and how to do different hings, tips etc. i found one like it but it was 2018 and idk if back then things were different in survival, crafting, etc. Anybody know an up to date playthrough that matches what im looking for?
