for jin players, you are blessed with arguably the best parry. against repetetive strings, this parry can make safe strings, into unsafe launch punishable ones.
This video is super helpful thank you, gonna save this for later, but the questions you raised were the exact ones I was asking myself, I did not want to lab matchups before even playing! Now I know that it moves either have evasion, big reward, fast, a mixture of the three, then it associated with bigger risk, meaning bigger punishment windows
I'm new to Tekken, hitting a wall around red ranks. This pretty basic framework of consistent risk/reward across the whole game might honestly get me up to purple ranks! I never considered it was so universal, just with different tools
You did an amazing job. Great video! Even seasoned players need to be reminded of this. Including me!! I practice punishment all the time. Slowly I’m getting the hang of punishment.
The video is right and wrong. Understanding frame data when you block is important -- for punishing and making good decisions like enforcing a 50/50 when you're +9 but considering sager options like SideStep at +3. But then also, in T8 you will be bullied for blocking if someone has legit offense. People can run 50/50s in their favor with plus on block mids and fairly damaging lows.
@@KingOfDarknessAndEvil it’s part of it but 50/50s change from character to character. Kazuya and shaheen have a lot of mixups but you deal with them in very different ways. Plus dealing with 50/50s involves a heavy mental game that is very difficult to summarize in a quick UA-cam videos
@@trashgamerxd7612 i play t8 yeah, but don't know what's the normal cuz it's my first tekken, the only thing that i know is that Law players can escape all grabs but can't block
Tekken 8 isn't a good idea. Actually the frames and a lot of useless numbers in this game. It looks like a mathematics which is too boring to understand. And a Naruto game (especially with those ART RAGE effects)
@@CoyoteEnix people aren’t always thinking about the numbers in every match. A lot just pay attention to important numbers like those that are plus and those that are super minus. Tiny audio overlapping problem but another high quality video.
Paul was a very good choice for this video. As a Paul main myself, I feel like he’s got some of the best block punishment in the game
Wait a minute, you can block in this damn game?!

thank you man for this simple and concise explanation.
Thank you very much. It was very hard for me to understand all these frames stuff as a beginner. Really helpful!

Great analysis vid man. Tekken 8 players def need all the defensive tips they can get.
Good clean video well done!
thanks bro for making this videoo✨✨
Very good video for beginners, I think the next defense guide should be about sidestepping

@@8bit_pineapple this is a beginner guide to understanding how to block punish. So it’s mainly about defense. 50/50s are an entirely different subject
