I revisited this video in commemoration of the great Ms Susan Ople. You’ll be missed. The dedication you gave to the country was very remarkable. No more pain, madam, rest in paradise. 😢❤
When she sayss "Its not really in the size of the house. The size of the house is secondary only to the love within the walls of the house" hit me hard.
Oo, kasi minsan fixated sa dami ng rooms, mamahalin fixtures, etc kaso di naman nag-uusap mga nakatira - from the start, ang nasa isip ko talaga no partition and maliit lang - basta comfortable and malinis. Ang mahalaga yung bonding moments namin while there. :-)

That's my dream house too. Leaving abroad for more than 40 decades was able to have 3 houses from 3 bedrooms to 5 bedrooms still dreaming for modern buy kubo, simple living back to my childhood. 3 more years turning 65, my husband and I are going back to province life. Exactly the same what you did. Thanks for sharing your story, it's an inspiration to Filipinos who just want to enjoy, appreciate life God gives us. Salamat po.

Congrats Ms. Ople for you made a lot of people happy to realize how important preserving and protecting our national heritage.

My oldest daughter bought us a bahay kubo in the Philippines which we ourselves repaired the roofing because of the past storm and rain, we varnished, painted and waxed the floor making it to shine and i do scrub with “lampaso”/coconut husk as to exercise my legs and give me a good sweat. Its so small to clean and tidy, we eat and rest there during the day while looking at all the orchids and plantitas in the backyard. I love all my Philippine vacations and for sure i will retire in the farm.

Niceeeeee!!!🙂 I think puede rin Kung install nyo sa loob ng bahay ay plywood, and keep bamboos outside as decoration! Para ma keep ang AC inside , Para di makalabas sa mga gap ng bamboos! Puede pang ma remediohan, just install plywood inside! Idea kolang iyon huh! Kung OK Lang sa inyo!!! 🙂

Ang ganda po ngpnagawa nyo. Bata pa ako gusto ko dn ng bhay kubo sa garden pero dahl sa limited space hndi ko natupad pangarap ko. Masaya po ako para sa inyo. Dama ko un ligaya mo sa napagandang bahay kubo nyo. God bless po
Nice Ganda. Ito talaga ideal house dito sa Pilipinas...dahil Ang dami nating kalamidad. Mura na at madali lang palitan in case ma damage sa kalamidad. Well vintaled & cooler basta salagsag ang sahig...hindi na kailangan ang Aircon. May poste o haligi na naka angat sa lupa... nagsisilbi sa baha at mabangis na hayop tulad sa ahas, baboy damo at iba pa.
Kaso na palitan na ng seminto na mahal at mainit pa at
kailangan mo pang mag aircon.
Tama dapat nating ipagmalaki.

Well ventilated house witch is simple living with fresh air around with plants.
Nice house po. I'm an architect by profession. Need lang po ng insulation in between the surface finishes sa air-conditioned rooms. For the non air-conditioned areas it's better na free-flowing po ang natural ventilation dahil yun ang purpose ng native construction materials. Sir Blas Ople is a fine gentleman.

Because of OG channel, my dream of having a dream house na 2 hanggang 3 ang palapag, I now want a tiny house for myself. Like something made out of container vans and it would be functional. Since I know I will be growing old alone and kung may makakasama man sa buhay dalawa lang kami. I am dreaming of maybe renovating our ancestral home since fruit of labor yun ng Mom ko and it will be passed on to me din naman but for myself, I want a tiny house na maganda and functional. A Bahay Kubo as a secondary house next to it where my guests can stay is also a great idea para sa lupa na nabili ko sa Batangas. 🧡
