ya i wasn't sure why that law past either a friend of mine hit it way worse. She was ready to take the written test and like every DMV that her parents were willing to drive to were booked up for tests for like 6 months
H.C.Brown Same thing could be said about Florida. So many reckless drivers here. Why is that? Most of the immigrants are assholes when it comes to driving because they never bothered to take classes and the driving tests here are apparently very lenient. It sucks.
Same thing here in Michigan. It's a slap in the face to people who actually went through the process of coming here legally. It never ceases to amaze me how so many other countries have incredibly complex and restrictive laws concerning immigration (Mexico's requirements are draconian to the point of absurdity, and you will NEVER have the same rights as a native citizen), yet the second anyone here says that we should enforce our own relatively lax regulations, we get called bigots and racists. The double standard is absolutely ridiculous. Can't read or speak English? We'll administer the tests in whatever language you want! I mean, never mind the fact that you won't be able to understand some important street signs, which could put other motorists at risk...
So that they could not be sent to jail for driving as driving is essential in life to drop off kids and go to work. It takes a while to get residency, even more for citizenship. In that whole span of time they can get their cars taken away or go to jail for driving without a liscense, and money is spent and time is wasted.
I remembered my brother failed like ten times on his drivers test and I got it on the first time many years later and I asked him how he failed and he swore up and down the test was freaking rigged. He had the same thing happen. He would pull up the booklet and be like look! Look! I got the answer right and they be like lolz nope. He finally just started guessing wild answers and passed.😂😂😂
i still have my learners permit. have had it for over a year. i dont really want my license because i dont like to drive and worry that the exact same thing will happen to me that happened to you. congrats on not be cursed anymore!
I live near two small towns and the dmvs for both are tiny and normally have very small waits. I love them. I remember when I was taking my written test for my permit and about every single question I got was about fines for everything under the sun. I hadn't really paid attention to that information in the handbook and focused more on the more important stuff like signs and actual laws for driving...I failed. And it was soooo frustrating. Who cares how much you have to pay for breaking a law, when the important thing is knowing what the law is that you could potentially break! That DMV is messed up though.
I'm so glad i came back to watch this video. I am practicing driving to get my license at 19 but i struggle with driving anxiety.. this has made me feel a bit better! i remember missed my permit test by TWO questions with the digital so they let me take the written after i failed like 3 times. This makes me feel like i can eventually get to driving regularly :')
Wow, that one lady from the "cursed" dmv sounds like someone I'd have to restrain myself from either cussing out or just flat out hitting for that bs. At least the driving school lady was nice about what happened to you and your family.
This reminds me that I still need to get my license. Would be alot easier if I could get some practice with someone other than my mom, who I am completely convinced, is insane. "YOU ALMOST KILLED ME" "Mom, all I did was park a little close to a palm tree." "THAT COULD HAVE FALLEN ON ME AND KILLED ME!" "Rrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiggggghhhhttt."
When the lady said its a crime to double stop at the stop sign you should've said "Lady I saved your life and beside I'm protected by the Good Samaritan Law which basically says if you do something against the law to save a life I am safe and can continue with this test" **I AM NOT A LAWYER AND DID NOT STUDY (unless you count Film Theory as Studying)**
Here in Canada, you have to wait a full year to take the driving test after the written test (plus after passing that, you still don't have your full license so you ave to wait another year...) I failed my test... because I didn't BACK my car in the parking spot on arrival... so I FAILED MY TEST... BEFORE IT EVEN STARTED
Hey, I've been in one of those training cars with the super hard breaks as well. I CANNOT stop in those cars. I wish they'd tell you in advance that they're such hard breaks. Poor Michie, but fun story! Glad things worked out in the end. :)
In NC, or at least at the time that I took the test, the instructor typically doesn't say anything if you fail immediately. I think for safety reasons, since they don't want you to freak out while they're in the car with you.
its ok just relax and breath! the driving physical test is only 15 minutes and normally very chill. Like i said i went to the second DMV and I had ZERO problems
Mine has nothing to do with getting the license more about trying to get a title in my name. I had no issue with getting my permit other than I failed the first time, because everyone told me "All you need to remember the signs" which I memorized to a T, but I failed mostly everything else, because I was told wrong. But whatever, I learned not to completely take everyone's word 100%, to study the whole booklet anyway, even if you didn't need to. BUT now, I always and still want a moped. Always have. And I figured if I buy a moped, I can learn to drive on that and then go into for my physical exam. And old co-worker told me she saw this moped for sale not far from where we worked, so me always walking everywhere I walked there to check it out. I knocked on the person's door and talked to them and said that I didn't know how much it was for sale for, or I would have called instead but the rain had washed the price of the moped and the number to call. They said they would sell it to me for 400. Now....I never dealt with car stuff, and no one ever told me anything about car stuff. I knew nothing about what a title was. It wasn't till after they handed me the title is when my mom and dad said "Oh you get that in your name and then the moped is officially yours." So, when I bought the moped and had it taken to my house, I went back to the DMV to get the title in my name. But the lady said "Oh we can't transfer it to your name, because they need to sign it." That's it...that's all. So I contacted him, because he gave me his number and we met up he signed it, then I signed it, but I had someone witness me sign it for legal reasons, then I took it back and it was a different lady this time. "Sorry, he needs to be here too to prove that he sold it to you." So I contacted him, and two or three months later he finally responds leaving only ONE day available to me, but I explained I was super busy all that day, so it would have to be after or before and he said no. So then a few more months went by and he texted me saying he was available to go to the DMV, now. But by that point, I gave up and didn't want the moped anymore and told him he could have it back, but I wanted my 400 back. He refused (By the way, I remembered to keep all the texts saved between us just in case I needed proof) he refused so I said fine whatever then take your bike back and don't give me the money back and he still refused. Then my mom read all the texts between us from the day I bought it to that day and she called him explaining that he was I was right, but he was saying that I was lying to her when she mentioned that I have all the texts saved in my phone, so I wasn't lying. A month later, he and my mom go to the DMV but then the same lady from the second visit said "Since you bought it out of state, then you have to get it inspected sir, then you come here and get it transferred to your name, then she can have it in her name" he fought with my mom on the phone for an hour trying to force US to pay for the inspection.... I just wanted to cry and I wanted to go to the police and tell them that the moped was practically stolen, because by law it was, and show them all the texts and everything and show proof of all the witnesses who were there for everything if he tried to lie, but mom said no. So then I'm already moved out, and its been about half a year. And he contacts my mom saying he has the money for the inspection, but she tells him I no longer wanted it anymore so to come pick it up and he said no and just hung up on her. THankfully, though, our landlord and one of his buddies saw the moped, offer to take it off their hands, which he did, so he could strip it down and use it for parts for his motorcycle. So, basically, because who you get your car from. Make sure they have the title in their and that they can provide proof that it's in there name before buying a vehicle from someone. Even if you think you know the person so well, and think you can trust them, not everyone are as they seem. So it doesn't hurt to be a little safe. Sorry, this was a long story.
also when it comes to a standard transmission learning the clutch work is the most important. when i taught my exwife and a few other to drive i had them kill the car with the clutch pedal several times, then had them get the car going without the gas pedal.
Lol this spooks me a bit. My driving test is in a few days and this is concerning me. And you have mentioned living in California, which is also the state I'm in. And I assume this is recent as digital tests weren't implemented until 2014... Let's hope I don't get a shitty tester Monday. My permit expires in a month rip me.
Anyone else before 1K views? Probably not for long! I say that because you are so loved Michie, for your videos, vlogs, funny stories, and everything else! We all hope you have an amazing life with more fun things to share! I'm not saying this because i think you're sad over this story, you're probably over it by now. It was only to make your day (hopefully) brighter! ^^
Yah I took the written test today and the dude who gave me the test was so rude and I heard him call me white trash to the rest of the cops like uuuh ok....then I failed and he laughed at me. The other cops looked like they didn't like him much but still he was rude :(
Holy shit, the process for getting your license in America(/just California??) is short as hell. I had to have 120 hours of supervised driving experience with no less than 10 night hours written down in a log book and individually signed before I could even book my test.
I love your wording when you forgot what a permit is. "What's is fuck" is something I want to use now when I forget words. I'm real sorry that you had such a shit time with that DMV tho what the fuck. Loved the storytime tho!!!
I do enjoy this story especially the fact, I lived in Southern California more specifically, Los Angeles. Although you don't need car in Los Angeles due alternative options and bad trafficking (that law giving illegal immigrants license has something to do with it. traffic here wasn't horrible when I was kid). however, there are time, when you need a car like when your job transfer you a location further away from your home.
When I went for my written test, I unwittingly went in on a Friday the 13th, my number was 6666, the printer wouldn't print for me and two of three computers just wouldn't work. I passed tho ✌
So let me get this straight: In California allowing a vehicular collision to occur is preferable to 'double stopping' at a stop sign? Is that what that moron was saying? I mean... bwuh... what... in what other situation would anyone actually 'double stop' in the first place, if not to avoid a collision? I'm struggling here. I've been to California. It's a fun place to visit, but between this and all the other stuff that goes on, I sure as hell wouldn't want to live there. Of course, given the absurd property values, I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. For what you'd pay for an average suburban home there, you could get one hell of a mansion here in Michigan. Three stories, indoor heated pool, the works.
...... 23 yrs old and still no license. I've been hit just walking four times. I still don't wanna drive. Finally forced into a position where i absolutely have to get one. shoot me i don't wanna.
"I can't watch anything now I'm busy-"
*Notification*
Past me was so naive.
When you've had a bad day but it's all heccin better cause Michi posted a storytime- ♡♡♡
There's definitely something not right at that DMV. The worst thing I or anyone I know has experienced at a DMV is long long long waits for everything
yup even if you have an appointment Honestly the fastest i was ever done was the day the DMV was down!
Lol why on earth would u give a license to someone who's illegally in your country, California makes no sense haha
ya i wasn't sure why that law past either a friend of mine hit it way worse. She was ready to take the written test and like every DMV that her parents were willing to drive to were booked up for tests for like 6 months
Whaaat! My two favorite artists are in the same place!

Ha ha! I’m sorry you went through so much shit! But at least you can laugh about it! I can’t wait to hear more stories!
Mhmmm trust me at the time i couldn't but thinking about it now i'm like PFFT this is funny

That piece looks like it was a headache to make lol still pretty!
Here I am @ 25 with no license in California....I want to learn but everyone either denies helping me or says I'm too scared.
Don't let them being you down!
When the lady said its a crime to double stop at the stop sign you should've said "Lady I saved your life and beside I'm protected by the Good Samaritan Law which basically says if you do something against the law to save a life I am safe and can continue with this test" **I AM NOT A LAWYER AND DID NOT STUDY (unless you count Film Theory as Studying)**
you and cody have been together since highscool?! that is soooo cool! good on you two!!!!!
YUP we're the rare few lol Thank you~
I don't have internet at home and my data ran out, so I couldn't watch it straight away. I'm glad I finally got to though! ♥

RIGHT LIKE ITS THE CAR YOU TRAIN IN WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BREAK THE DAMN THING

i like the art
In BC, we have to take the practical driving test TWICE! lol XD
(You'd think that means everyone is extra great at driving, but nope)
I misread the title as, "How Michie lost her Drivers License" and was so confused
*Jesus take the wheel*
Mmmm... break the law or die? Seems that DMV was definitely cured!

yup! and i know what you mean. LA traffic was not as bad when i was a kid either. It was always bad but it got so much worse once that law passed
This video makes me want to go get my license.
Yay! I love storie times
"They were talking about all the car accidents they'd been in-"
It's The Gabbie Show. Just- yeah. (You have a good taste in storytellers!)
i love your video's
