Still sad the cinema has gone. So many memories of watching the matinee there on a Saturday, or over the summer holidays. Especially the year Star Wars came out when I saw it every day for a week!
I have huge wall clock in my house which once hung in the pride of place in the town hall of Castle Douglas which was gifted to the town by the Lidderdale family in memory of Mr. William Lidderdale
Brought back plenty of memories.I lived there in 1981 working for decorator the legendary Niven Mcminn.Lodged at Mary Camerons then Edgar the dyker on Parton Road.Happy days, great people, wonder what happened to Monty Maguire and Kate Mcfaddian?

That really is very good, a lot of hard work very nice
Really good, great effort! Things look tattier now somehow and there are too many cars!
I disagree, the town is well kept and no litter. Cars are everywhere in every village and town.
interesting how in most of the comparisons, people have been replaced by cars
Sad that over 200 young died in WW1 never to return their homes in Castle Douglas.
