Jon English - Heaven On Their Minds (Graham Kennedy intro & interview)

Fresh from his debut sell out Sydney season playing Judas in "Jesus Christ Superstar", which earned Jon English rave reviews & set him on his own path to becoming an Aussie superstar, Jon performs one of the classic songs from the show live on the Graham Kennedy Show, with an introduction by Graham & Pete Smith. It was 1972 and Jon, who gives a sensational performance here, was about to debut at Melbourne's Palais Theatre with the show..which is where I first saw JCS...and this late great Aussie talent. Met Jon on several tours, insanely great with the Foster Brothers... lovely guy.. was born to be an entertainer.. hit singer, actor of stage and screen, G&S, reader of the classics, rock opera creator..a true Aussie legend. Great to see such an early clip is a pleasing surprise

I was lucky enough to see the production at The Palais Theatre.
Absolutely awesome !
We were up the back,... but man that whole theatre was vibrating to the rafters !
It was an amazing experience !
Gave me a love not only for this Musical, but for Jon English ❤️

Too me Jon looked more Italian than English
