Heya! Which 2023 fragrance releases are your least fave? I should've emphasized more that when I first tested Guidance on skin (in the high heat of Summer), I really enjoyed it. It was deep, rich, complex and intoxicating. Testing it further in the colder temps Fall and Winter, it almost felt like a completely different scent, mostly in the drydown. This being a super strong beastmode scent, I would assume this would work better in cooler temps, but on me, the opposite is true. In any case, I'm completely put off by it now unfortunately, but I'm glad for those who can pull this one off. It's still such an interesting scent, one of the most challenging I've experienced this year, and one to test if you're looking for something much different from what's being released nowadays 😊
I tend to really dislike all the Arab recommendations like from lataffa? I tried oppulent red icky!! Gasoline! And then I got khamrah..sometimes? Mmm French toast. And sometimes I smell that gasoline note coming back 😂
@@heavenjbI really enjoy Lataffa's Khamrah or also Mayar (lychee/raspberry scent). My least favorites have been Valentino or Carolina Herrera (since they are too strong for me/too common)

My taste match with her, in some cases, of course not, but she is very trusted youtuber, I think I follow her ar least fo 5 years or so. Some YT is very clear that they are earning to say good things😢 But t it is how it is. I hope you can sell for a good price this that you mistakly got😢
That's why I follow YT'bers who most times have around 50k followers (who do reviews). I find them way more authentic with honest (less sponsored) reviews, and also put the same effort into their reviews at top percenters (whoever YT recommends you follow, etc.)✨👍
I feel like people love more the compliments they get when wearing Guidance, than the scent itself. Guidance is beast mode. If people can actually smel your fragrance, you are more likely to get compliments. It doesn't mean that it is actually the best scents ever. Because let us be honest, most people have terrible tastes in fragrances. And frankly it is not worth the 360 USD retail prices they are charging
Mugler perfumes used to be so "out there". Unique, polarizing, one of a kind. And the new fragrances on the market seemed to be aimed at pleasing everyone. They are okay, but not really memorable.
I love Guidance but it does depend on body chemistry and I think that comes down to whether the type of Sandalwood works with your body chemistry. The other issue is the fact that you need so little to create the magic, too many sprays and you will hate yourself 😂

Guidance was a scrubber for me . And husband really disliked it as well. I blind bought Baklava Royale… that just didn’t work for me either. Sold my bottle right away. The Sol de Janeiro After hours works beautifully when layered with Arianna Grande Cloud… I can’t do My Way Parfum either…
I take UA-cam video recommendations with a grain of salt. The influencers with a lot of followers want to stay on the PR lists of the expensive perfume houses. And they want to hype up their influencer friend’s new fragrances. If you read the reviews of Navitus fragrances on Fragrantica you will see the truth. I really don’t believe anyone loves guidance. I really feel that people either got it for free or they blind bought it and because they spent $360 on it they are convincing themselves it’s beautiful. It just doesn’t smell good.
I absolutely love Iris Absolut ! I sampled it in spring and thought it’s different from all scents I have and deserves to be in my collection. I purchased this scent in summer and hardly reached for it. It wasn’t appealing to me. However, in fall time i became absolutely obsessed with this perfume! I received tons of compliments. People are chasing me to ask what is it that smells so good. I also bought Oud version of this, but still prefer Absolute. Btw I don’t see any similarities with OG LVEB. That one is so heavy on the patchouli I never reach for it. But I absolutely in love with Iris Absolut 💕
I absolutely agree with all yoir sentiments re: each of these these fragrances. So glad I'm not alone! Some I started off loving, but then soon grew to dislike intensely 🥴😅 xx
Same story with Amuage Guidance! I was testing and testing it trying to convince myself that it was good but I just didn't like it - the drydown was offputting. The final dealbreaker for me was that people around me did not like it! so I stopped trying to like it and moved on 🙂 There're so many other perfumes to try, and I don't have to like what everybody else likes.
Well I guess I don’t need to rush and try the killian. I hated tobacolor. When I think about it, I realize that I rarely buy new releases. But I still get hit by the hype train. I blind bought a bottle of delina la rose because the price was amazing. I do not understand the hype with the delinas at all. I regret that purchase. I’m keeping it for a while to see if I grow into it.
My gripe with Guidance is actually the longevity. I really like the scent, but just one spray lingers FOREVER. I like a long-lasting scent, but I feel like if I wore Guidance all the time, my whole house and all of my clothes would smell like it forever.
LVEB Iris Absolu is one of my favorites! But I can see it being a little polarizing. I really enjoy Iris/orris so it’s definitely for me. I think it was a limited release so I’m happy to have a big bottle. That being said, I completely agree about Mugler. L’Oréal is killing the brand and it’s so sad. They just make boring crowd pleasers now.
I tried but ended up not liking Guidance as well. On me it mostly smells like wet pencil shavings and then it goes weirdly sour - just really bad. It was also a fragrance that I had high expectations for. I try not to do that, but..... :)

We can disagree nicely...I have to say I got a tester of Guidance and was in love..mixes well with my chemistry and I have gotten lots of compliments when I wear this. Agree with you on all but Angel Elixir - that was actually not bad but that’s because it didn’t smell like Angel which I do not like. Still not full bottle worthy though.
I’ve realised I don’t enjoy wearing Guidance as much but I always, always get compliments (especially from other women 🤔)I probably don’t fully understand this fragrance. On the positive side, I have just received Blanche Bette and I love it 😍 It’s thanks to your recommendations, Arlene. Thank you 😘
Guidance is the biggest disappointment for me this year... I was running to smell it (with money ready to spend , haha) and first impression almost made me buy it right away, as i loved the opening of this scent. Yet something was telling me that i should wait to see till drydown and wear it till the end of the day before making my mind about purchase. Luckily, I was gifted a small tester of Guidance with me by an amazing Amouage's assistant so i can give it a full test of wear the next days as well... But in a few hours I couldnt stand this smell, there is some very unpleasant note that is drilling my head and gives me migraine ((( unfortunately i catch the tail of Guidance too often on the street... grateful i didnt waste my money on it
I like Valentino born in Roma intense a lot. May be you sprayed also to much because it was for free 😂...me too! I think that sometimes the whole plane smells me 😅

Honestly with Guidance, I think the hype is because of the bottle. You combine that gorgeous Amouage design with blush pink and a neutral toned jeweled cap, I think people will try to make it work because the object is just so desirable, even if the juice is challenging and not to their taste 🤷🏽♀️
Yes, I think people who hate the OG Angel really like the Elixir because it doesn't smell anything like the OG lol. I personally can't stomach the OG Angel because of how dirty the patchouli smells in it (t o me) and how beast mode it is or at least was in the past, haven't smelled it on anyone recently thank goodness.
I only bought a 30ml of My Way…. Thank goodness! I couldn’t pinpoint what it was that put me off…maybe it IS the iris…. I’ll just wear it around the house so it isn’t wasted.

I love amouage parfums! I couldn't believe that I dont really like Guidance. Just couldn't. But it was true. And for me it is not beast! But my son (4 years old) adore it!!!! 😂😂😂
I need to test Guidance more. As of right now I don’t understand the hype. I smelled it in Neiman Marcus in summer and my first impression was “scratchy”. It was not a good sandalwood to my nose. I sprayed it heavily on a scent card and took it home. After several hours it finally smoothed out. I’ll test it again when I get a chance.

I agree with you regarding most of the scents mentioned in this video except Valentino BIR Intense which is a love for me, although I never liked the OG & the flankers. Armani My Way, I loved the OG & The Intense, But the Iris in The Perfume and in LVEB made me steer clear as both made me feel sick.
I don't think we should give fragrances a second chance. If it takes you a few times for it to grow on you, it isn't good. Imagine you use one of those fragrances while you're out and about, you pass people in the grocery aisle or wherever you are, and people passing you can smell it. They aren't going to be with you for it to grow on them, they will likely not like it either. They will think your parfume is awful.
For any decent Mugler fragrances you need to source pre L'Oréal bottles (under Clarins or Thierry Mugler). All the new stuff is safe and boring and they've ruined the OG's.
Yeah. 100%. I do like Alien Goddess Intense, but even it is nothing like what they used to make. I still love Angel Muse, Angel Sucre, AMEN, AMEN Pure Tonka , Ambre Redoubtable, Wonder Bouquet and Oriental Express. I think Angel Edt and Angel Muse Edt were both also before the buy out, and I adore those as well.
My least favorite of this year, that's a thinker! I would have to say Ariana Grande Cloud Pink is a personal let down for me in my opinion as i LOVE the original cloud! Good Fortune Elixir also isn't for me either, I really enjoy the original release though. Incense is not a favorite for me personally. Mugler I also agree! I feel the same way about Muglers gourmands as you did about the Valentino! I find to me, they are cloying and too artificial. ~ My favorites, one is on this list hahaha! I would have to say Valentino DBIR Intense is up there for me, i really enjoy how it transforms on my skin, and its still my highest complimented scent aside from Eden Juicy Apple and Vanilla Sky duo! Kayalis Pistachio Gelato, Floral Street Sweet Almond Blossom, and 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition are another few favorites! Also Sol De Janiero was another top fav for me hahaha!! To my nose, I find After Hours layered with just plain old Black Opium original, smells divine on me!
Guidance STINKS 🤢. I got a sample cause the original price tag isn’t for me. I have worn the sample soooo many times and it just DOES NOT smell good. I’m new to niche fragrances but I’ve tried enough to know what smells good and what doesn’t. You couldn’t pay me to continue to wear that fragrance.
1) Guerlain Mon Guerlain 2) Chanel Chance Eau Tendre 3) Burberry Goddess I think these 3 are easy to like, crowd-pleasers, not off-putting fragrances. ✌️
My least favorite.....JPG Le Male Elixir !!!! Instant headache and nausea. I do however love JPG Le Male Le Parfum. I also had a "weird" experience with Amouage Guidance....I agree with you...the dry down...nope ! And...I actually liked Angel Elixir @ first sniff in-store.

I love iris absolu ❤ its gourmand but iris and the iris is creamy.

The more reason why i stick to arabian perfumes and Zara perfumes. They are affordable and smell good.

pink cloud is good imo. The opening is fresh, fruity and very different than the original but the dry down still has the DNA of the blue bottle.

My least favorite.....JPG Le Male Elixir !!!! Instant headache and nausea. I do however love JPG Le Male Le Parfum.
I also had a "weird" experience with Amouage Guidance....I agree with you...the dry down...nope ! And...I actually liked Angel Elixir @ first sniff in-store.

Amouage Guidance is horrible. I sampled it months ago and couldn't wash it off fast enough! The worst ever!
A more appropriate title should have been "Perfumes release in 2023 that I don't like"...
