This mostly worked great for me. For anyone who has problems with the steps at 1:23 ish instead click on send feedback, type anything in the box and then highlight it and click assist. Then type chrome in the search box of the browser that pops up to open in chrome. Skip to 2:50 on this video and resume!

Thank you Stefan, purchased a lenovo for my 86 year old dad 2 weeks ago. Not sure what he did and neither does he, but he managed to set a password that he did'nt remember doing. With your walk through I was able to reset back to manufacturers setting. One relieved son and one happy old man. Thanks again 👍

The fact that so many other options have been cut off shows that both the Manufacturers and Google are aware of such issues people run into but rather than providing a legitimate way of regaining access, instead they just patch out any new found exploits.

Thank you, after so many failed attempts this tutorial worked. I also had a problem at 1:28 I did not see the video clip in Voice Access setting so had to do the trick as per Martyn2712 comment sort of. Go back to network settings, click on add another network, type gibberish, long click and select Assist, from there type Chrome in Google and proceed from there. I can't believe Google has such nonsensical "security" setting. My tablet was used by account which was fully closed since. So I cannot log back in using the previously signed account since it no longer exists.
Method also works on Lenovo TB-X103F If voice access isn't achieved go into network settings add another network then type in some random letters and numbers finger hold those random letters until you get a bar with options click assist you'll get the google page up then type in chrome from there it's plain sailing just follow the rest of the instructions step by step on this video.

Unfortunately, "Get started with Voice Access" doesn't show YT video, and there's no way to get to Chrome/YT navigator to follow the rest of the steps...

Saved my sister 90 bucks because people love to factory reset and not put in there gmail in. My sister had a s9 and had the same problem i would of fixed it but i had no laptop but i picked one up today but this still works 4/1/2019 if ur reading this it does work and he dont need to speak just do what he does step by step

Thanks 👍 the UA-cam to Chrome think is not working anymore, but you can go to any link, copy it and click on assist. Then tipe chrome and open the chrome browser.

I know the reply comes late ;) But maybe someone else sees this and gets helped.
It was the same for me, the touch in the beginning didn't get me into that menu. But I used the following method just to get into the browser, and then switched to this actual video (that we are commenting right now) and followed the steps from when the web browser is up and running. On new versions, the browser can be accessed by selecting a text box (for instance when adding manually the wifi network) and clicking in the Google icon, then type chorme and proceed. The browser is blocked now on talkback
Hi, I have android 5.1.1 but I can't get past two fingers. The assistant for the visually impaired (talkback) will start, but nothing else. When I highlight text (for example wifi) there is no assist. Do you have any advice? Thank you.
