    How have I missed these stamping tutorial tidbits! Getting inspired by watching these today! I bought a few of the Van Gogh foam stamps, but I still want to buy your seed pod, citrus wheel and rocks rubber stamps. Going to take advantage of the Joggles sale!

    Stunning prints! The last one with the teal spirals was especially fabulous! I realized when I tried the very wet Golden paint on the reverse of the rice paper & foam stamping on the front last week that I needed more foam stamps! I ordered one with the 20% off sale and hopefully I can stock up with a few more with this sale!

    As always, I am inspired by your color choices. I'd like to learn more about the uses of rubber and foam stamps. Why use one instead of another? What are their relative strengths, etc..?

    • @ElizabethStHilaire
      @ElizabethStHilaire  2 роки тому +1

      Foam is more economical and easier to store because they are light weight. Rubber can have more fine line detail than foam but are more expensive to produce and are heavy. Mounted to wood they are even more heavy. Both have plus and minus!

    For a couple of days, I’ve been wondering what change I could make to freshen my POV. Nothing major, just something. Watching you, I thought: Aha, landscape orientation. Why don’t I try that since I always print with my plate in portrait mode? Originally, I did that to maximize my minimal work space. Do you remember why you started printing in landscape? Just wondering. Thanks for the other new ideas, too, since working with even the best stamps can feel uninspired if you don’t find new ways to use them.

      I always print landscape because it fits on the video camera best! But I have always worked that way right from the beginning. Happy to inspire!

    Hi Elizabeth! I've been struggling with knowing what drawer to put some prints in. The last print- yellow, orange, turquoise- what drawer would you put that in? I ❤️ using the foam stamps. They add that special 'something' to my prints and backgrounds.

    • @ElizabethStHilaire

      Divided into four pieces, and put it into four different drawers by color. :-) I split all my 9 x 12 sheets into four pieces

    Is there a finish or varnish I should use on my gel plate art to protect from sun?

    So this might sound stupid but I work mostly with water color, would water color work on the stamps and klimt stencils?

    • @ElizabethStHilaire
      @ElizabethStHilaire  2 роки тому +1

      Watercolor works great on the foam stamps in many different ways. The woman who produces them used watercolor. Yes! You can sponge watercolor through the stencils to form beautiful patterns. Check out David Lobenberg’s work !

    Why do my prints come out looking speckled from the plate. To me they look rough. Yours don’t seem to come out like that. Is it the camera that doesn’t show the speckling on your pieces (if they even have them) maybe?

    • @ElizabethStHilaire
      @ElizabethStHilaire  2 роки тому +1

      The plate releases some oil, especially when it’s new.
