To be fair, sin didn't only have a model, sin had a fan community mod him into the game, so there was clearly enough push behind it for them to go "okay let's put him in"
Yeah I think it's a bit unfair to say he was a model turn over when he was already the third most popular character in strive or something crazy (when he was only in the dlc story) great video either way of course!
You know what I find hilarious about the food mechanic? Sin needed it in Xrd cause he was in the care of Sol, who didn't even feed him anything besides water, so of course he would starve mid match. As far as we know, Sin was probably under Ky and Dizzy's care in Strive since Sol was travelling with Jack 'O, so for the first time in five years he was most likely getting three meals a day, so he doesn't need to eat it mid match to stay alive, he most likely just eats it cause he enjoys it now. I love how ArcSys incorporates the lore in characters' fighting styles and Sin was always the most hilarious example to me, so thanks for always staying consistent.
@@AdamSmasherReal a character becoming more simple doesn't make them less fun. for example sin is way more fun in this game than in xrd, he was boring in xrd. Hey for anyone who was wondering about the Kara super: you do a special move, then do double quarter circle forward, but when you press punch, press dash macro at the same time (TLDR do super and dash at the same time) hope this helps
It's quite easy once you figure it ou. The trick for me was realizing that for most of the moves, you input the super way later than you think you need to. If you do it too fast then nothing comes out. The only one you need to be a little quick is if you try to kara after the follow up from DP, that one is a bit faster. The rest, just casually input the super of choice and plink or press the macro and the attack button at the same time. You can also easily confirm super off of hoof stomp 214s overhead without even needing the follow up. If you practice it in training mode for like 10 minutes you can get the confirm down.
It also works if you input dash just before finishing the motion (like do double qcf dash and then p) or by doing a double qcf then press forward and punch. Personally I prefer the 1st method over plinking the input but that's just me.
You don’t even need to use dash button if you input super fast enough at the right timing and personally I think it’s more consistent if your hit confirms are on point. Same thing works with RTL since during super input you’re already inputting 66 during the super inputs.
They actually made Strive Sin a competently "fair and balanced" rushdown character. How tf did Arcsys manage this in a game full of Gorillas and Sniper Monkeys!??
Got me thinking: Would having a stamina bar similar to Sin's, but for every character and each character has their own maximums (Sol would have 2 Stamina, Pot be 4 Stamina, or something like that lmao) be fine in future GG? That way not every special is free to use, and certain character archetypes play around their unique strengths with stamina.
@@OatmealCreamPie I think that's how DNF Duel works (never played it, but watched some videos and read it's page on Dustloop, so I might be wrong), but instead of different maximums, each character has a different recovery rate and each move has their own cost. I haven't picked up on the Noontide reference, but that segment also ends with a combination of Holy Orders (in the left ear) and Awe of She (in the right). That placement is notable, because it might be mirroring Sin's human/gear eyes
To be fair, they literally added the story mode to showcase the new character WITH the season pass. If Sin didn't come out close to that story that flashed him out would be VERY weird
Although I haven't played much xrd, Sin is my favourite character in that game, and while this new sin feels more aggressive, I really really enjoy him and now have a massive character crisis between maining him again or sticking to strive baiken.
So as an Xrd Sin main i feel like chming in here. Old Sin players are probably enjoying new Sin because he's still doing what Sin did in Xrd, he goes about it differently but the soul of his gameplan is still there. It's about relentless offense while managing a resource (and having little time out sessions when you use too much), it's about ignoring everyone elses neutral because big stick energy. Sin would always 'go in' after poking a bit, he still does that. He was never really a midrange zoner who bunkers down, he could just play rushdown from midscreen.
I kinda guessed that it had to be Sin because of his appearance in the GGST Another Story. And as a side note I had my first ever online matches today, both against Sin and I kicked their arses. Never felt this good playing any other fighting game, love this game and I'm so happy to be part of it!

People are doubting him but I think once everyone figures out all his confirms he is going to be quite strong. He can get big damage off of many small hits, you just have to know the correct combo route to take. I think it will take time to internalize all these combo routes but I feel like in time he will have some of the best conversions in the game. As for food, people say use it on a 2k2d knockdown but you can just do beak driver for more damage which IMO is going to be better than whatever the food get's you 9 times out of 10. Sure if you get a big health chunk, that is pretty good but the odds on that are low.

I'm not huge into GG lore so forgive me if I make mistakes. I think this very well encapsulates Sin growing up, since he's part Gear he never really gets to have a childhood. In Xrd he had an excellent mid range with lots of ways to combo from a distance, this is what I can assume an underlying carefulness dispite his carefree nature. He doesn't really want to get hurt and gets hungry sometimes so he can't have the enemy attack him while he's snacking. Now in Strive he had some time growing up, Sin is in his dreaded teenager phase where he thinks he knows everything, getting closer to the enemy and not caring whether he's hungry or not, because he can always eat later, he's got someone to beat up first. And of course once you drain him of his energy or his cockiness, he comes to regret those actions horribly. At least those are my thoughts solely on his gameplay alone, and a few cutscenes about getting Ram to eat a burger and other family shenanigans.

"Can he cancel it into any other special move?" Lmao, Strive characters keeping their gimmicks, we aren't 11 DLC characters in yet their gimmicks are GONE
The thing that was clearly lost for me from Sin's transition from Xrd to Strive was the connection of his food mechanic with his gameplay. Xrd Sin lived and died by the food gage, it determined when he could go for mixups, pressure, when he could get away scott free from a setup, how he would play neutral and when he should give up space to refill his meter. In Strive it really feels like they slapped the food mechanic becouse it was iconic and nothing else, not only that but eating in Strive is completely worthless. A mechanic going from core to the character to worthless is kind of a really big leap and leaves the ability as incohesive to his gameplay. Why would you splat or knock down the enemy and then eat when you could do the same thing and either break the wall or pressure with your specials? Besides the randomness on the food effects is a big turnoff becouse not only is eating risky but it has a lot of chances to be extremely worthless and just loose you of an important hit.
I’m still waiting some NPC characters, like Crow, Chronus, Ariels, Asuka (but it’ll be useless, cause they won’t have ANY instant kills…) I don’t want characters what I’ve played in Xrd (Slayer, Jam, Johnny, Venom), their character choice for Strive is horrible.
@Seeox I'm mostly an Acent Core +R player ,and aside from Aba I don't have a proper main. I do enjoy playing as everyone else, this game's roster is perfect
As someone who isn’t that good at fighting games, Sin I’m Strive is so frustrating. He’s just so versatile and untrackable and any character that has full screen wall breaks is just insufferable. I understand liking him, and you can “skill issue” me all you like. I just think he isn’t all that fair at the moment
To be fair, sin didn't only have a model, sin had a fan community mod him into the game, so there was clearly enough push behind it for them to go "okay let's put him in"

I know I'm late but SIN KISKE ON TOP RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! 🗣️SUGAR WATER RAAAAAAHHHH!!!!
10:44 what is this stage
At least you can play the characters you like I am still waiting for Gabriel
"Can he cancel it into any other special move?"
Lmao, Strive characters keeping their gimmicks, we aren't 11 DLC characters in yet their gimmicks are GONE
What is wrong about sin, personally I wanted him
The thing that was clearly lost for me from Sin's transition from Xrd to Strive was the connection of his food mechanic with his gameplay.
No wonder I never see anyone eat playin' Sin. That shit's a worse gamble Faust's gamble move.
"theres always next character ig" yeah bro cant wait for delilah 😐😐😐
I like Sin enough but I won't be returning to the game until there is a character that properly calls to me.... Likely Slayer....
5:11 Sin… max your Cooking skill!
XD
FF Testament was in the story too
I’m still waiting some NPC characters, like Crow, Chronus, Ariels, Asuka (but it’ll be useless, cause they won’t have ANY instant kills…)
I don’t want characters what I’ve played in Xrd (Slayer, Jam, Johnny, Venom), their character choice for Strive is horrible.
Asuka is likely imo and I'd say Ariels has a very tiny chance but Crow and Chronus are like impossible.
so youre saying adding characters that people already have a connection to is a bad idea? weird take
Now Sin wears black wife-beater shirt.
Okay…
From a fighting game channel to a religious based channel, strange but bold move my friend.
Personally, I think Sin is pretty cool.
I actually enjoy sin quite a bit tbh which is weird I have liked none of the dlc characters play styles.
I want venom but that ain’t happening 😢
Same
We have Venom at home.
The Venom at home: Jack-O'
I'm still waiting for A.B.A tho
@Seeox I'm mostly an Acent Core +R player ,and aside from Aba I don't have a proper main. I do enjoy playing as everyone else, this game's roster is perfect
So is anybody going to try to get into the street fighter 6 beta?
As someone who isn’t that good at fighting games, Sin I’m Strive is so frustrating. He’s just so versatile and untrackable and any character that has full screen wall breaks is just insufferable. I understand liking him, and you can “skill issue” me all you like. I just think he isn’t all that fair at the moment
Catholic church type beat on the title
I need to stop playing yomi hustle and pick up strive again
