Video info Update: Lane filtering and lane splitting are two different laws, both legal in California. Lane splitting is riding a motorcycle between lanes or rows of traffic moving in the same direction. It is sometimes called whitelining, or stripe-riding. This allows riders to save time, bypassing traffic congestion, and may also be safer than stopping behind stationary vehicles. Lane filtering (legal also in Utah) is the same as lane splitting definition above, but cars are stopped or moving under 10 mph for lane filtering to be legal. For moving to the front of stopped cars at lights or times of heavey traffic. Thanks to #road_rash_hd "Thanks for bringing this definition to my attention". 👍🤔

I think all lower 48 should allow it. It has been proven to be a safer more efficient practice here in Cali. Utah has legalized lane filtering, mabey other states will begin to change legislation soon. Thanks for watching and Subscribing. Ride On 🤙👍😎
I’d be much more comfortable with it is if cars paid more attention. Splitting and filtering here are currently illegal so nothing to worry about til it does. Nice video man.
I have noticed a increase in awareness from drivers here in California last couple of years,, not sure if there is just more riders driving responsibly or more responsible drivers. this video and in video's past that I have done, I show drivers being really aware, and have answered comments about it, 6 out of 10 cars make adjustments to lane positioning, when they here my pipes comming. Mabey it takes a few years for drivers to get use to it once legal in that state. Alot of ignorance in states its not legal. A learning curve mabey for states that may legalize it in the future. Good comment, Thanks for watching. Ride On Chopper. 🤙👍😎
filtering is the whole point of "comuting" ona bike - it takes a while to find the right ballence of acertiveness with out being agressive , drivers soon get used to it and on the whole are happy to see you go past them .When filtering I find if I asume evryone wants to kill me and pull out its a happpy bonus when I get to the front intact 🤪🏍️
Absolutely, Very well said, I was trying to say just that when I replied to road rash and chopperfetts comments above. Great point, Thanks for watching, Ride On 🤙👍😎
Another state has allowed this now,i just cant remember which one off the top of my head. We are trying to get lane filtering passed here at red lights
I just googled it. This was the answer. Today, California remains the only U.S. state to allow lane splitting (the practice is legal in Europe and Asia), and researchers and motorcycle experts say that lane splitting can actually reduce traffic and improve roadway safety. Canada is trendy mabey soon. great comment had to fact check it for an answer. 🤔 Thanks for watching. Ride On💥🤙👍😎

I notice a new trend in California. Drivers hear my pipes and really try to get out of the way as I pointed out in the video, California drivers are getting use to the laws and being more aware. I think it also may be that there are alot more motorcycles and new riders in Cali due to our weather and highest gas prices in the country. I know when I drive my cage,, I am more hyper aware for motorcycles. Ride Safe, 🤙👍😎
Are the lanes wider there??? Looks like you have lots of space.... Our lanes here are narrow. Sometimes I have to squeeze thru and wind up smacking side mirrors.
I think so" as I pointed to the groove in the hov lane. It looks like a wider hov/carpool lane, and a wide shoulder on the center divider, they tend to use to give me an exaggerated amount of room as I also tried to point out in video. So yes I think Our hwy's are designed with lane splitting / filtering laws in mind these days. researchers and motorcycle experts say that lane splitting can actually reduce traffic and improve roadway safety. #road_rash_hd also pointed out that Utah also recently legalized lane filtering. California is a trendy state and I think the rest of the country will follow suit. Great comment Ride On Ride Safe 💥☄🤙👍😎
I think your bike looks so good without the wind shield! That grey truck really moved over for you! A lot of times, the people doing that are riders! And you split lanes safely, which is wise! “Control the hover!” Hahaha 😆👍
I agree thats why I have a quick release windshield, off in 2 min, gives me the choice with or without on each ride, if I am riding long distance it goes on. Its been super hot, it was blocking wind so well I sweat out. I have picked my accesories for variables in comfort, wind, weather and temps. She looks best without the grandpa shield for sure lol" 😆 😂 Yes, courteous drivers "probably riders" I really have noticed alot of drivers starting to become aware so mabey more drivers aware its legal here now and respect it, "not sure" I was serious pull in that clutch and the bike just hovers right there, I was splitting one time and the driver suddenly blocked me pulled the clutch matched his speed and just hovered right at his tail light, could have smacked his blinker with my hand, when he corrected just went on through totally controlled it, thats why I used that word "hover". I wanted to show heads up lane splitting. Thanks for watching and comment, Ride Safe 💥🤙😆
