Also, from what I've heard, the Chinese government has really been encouraging domestic tourism instead of Chinese citizens traveling internationally, so a lot of Chinese people including most of my Chinese friends have been traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu (where the pandas live), and Sanya (Chinese Thailand essentially).
