  • It's been a minute since we went for a walk! This beautiful autumn day is just about perfect though, so let's see what kind of scrap we can find in the bins! Trash picking adventure, lets go!
    Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
    The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
    The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
    This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
    And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
    (If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

    Often when I go for my daily walk, a folded bag and snippers are on my pocket. Amazing what items people throw away, and cords aplenty. If nothing there it not taking up much space in my pocket. So it is a win for my health and wellbeing, and maybe a win for recovered items and scrap.

    Agree with you about the trees.q. love the bag size and logo. Price is reasonable, too. We suffered through two weeks of smokey air and just had our first 5+ inches of rain. Fall is definitely here. Love the alleyways. European planned community with cans and garages hidden away. Gloves are great. There are thermal gloves that are waterproof. Be safe out there. Really enjoy seeing other countries neighborhoods. Florida Scrapper, Mike the Scavenger, Scrap and Pallet Man, all stateside scrappers have reasonably nice areas. Poly Prophet in Melbourne, beautifully planned communities. Scrap is piled outside after getting allocated day to do so.

    A beautiful warm day in Minnesota, and the fact I didn't have to work today, meant I got out and picked up cans myself on a nice long walk. Ne deposit here, so it's strictly for the scrap value in aluminum cans, and the exercise. I like the bottle picking videos.

    2 things I don't understand (2:40):
    1) He said he'll buy an extension chord. Good pickers have lots of extension chords, phone chords, etc; no need to buy them.
    2) Why doesn't he & most pickers have a picker stick? It can rake thru contents & reach to bottom of containers, bins, under fence, subway tracks, & reach in locked bins, etc.

    • @thubprint
      @thubprint  Рік тому

      Happy to clarify! It wasn’t an extension cord, it was a desk mount power distribution box. The kind of thing you mount to your workbench and can plug all sorts of usb and ac charge devices into. I’ve yet to build my “charge station” for my many devices.
      The pick stick is a fine tool and it would be a clever bit of kit to hang in the truck, but if a person is walking and checking bins, less is more. Carrying a stick is the same as pushing a cart, it makes you a lot slower

    • @thatcanada
      @thatcanada Рік тому +1

      You cannot feel things well with a stick. Sometimes you have feel up those bags/boxes to know what's inside without tearing into them all. And as for reaching into locked bins - no thanks. After having spoken to the local cops about what they deem going to far - breaching locked bins and jumping fences/gates to get to bins were the two things they said would cross a line; here at least.
      And I don't think he was talking about an extension cord but instead a multi usb charger.

    Kinda disappointed in this one. That heavy duty rolling cart was a perfectly good working item that needed no repair. Ditto for that BBQ. Times like that I say, just leave it for someone who'll actually use it for what it is, rather than turn a $300 item into $3 scrap. Or Kijiji it. Hell even the shelves, shelves resell easy and are pricey. I know if you pass it by it might just be the next less-scrupulous scrapper that'll take it and make their $3 on it, but, sucks that those items are going to waste.
