    Hello., just want to ask the ration between ground psyllium husk and psyllium husk powder? Is 1 tbsp of ground psyllium husk : 1/2 tbsp of psyllium husk powder?

      I don't really have the exact ratio. But based on experience and feedbacks, 1 loaf of my keto bread with 27 g (3 tbsp) of whole psyllium husks ground until half its original volume, you will need only 1 to 3 tsp of preground psyllium powder. Please check out this tutorial video for better understanding. You can see the difference between both loaf of bread using self ground psyllium husks and preground psyllium powder at the end of the video. I also have a list of baking tutorials in my playlist so do check them out;

    I was inspired by your recipe and just made my own bread very successfully!!! Finally!! Thank you so much! I made some adjustments as I didn’t have enough of eggs this morning. So I only used three eggs and was adding coconut flakes without measuring but by the look of the final consistency, similar to the one of your mix. I love the taste and it looks super presentable (I can proudly share it with my family and friends😊)
    Also, I checked your other video regarding mistakes. That was very useful and now I understand that I used too much of psyllium husk powder in a past in my mixes.

      Psyllium husk is the most important ingredient as it acts as the gluten. Flaxseed has a different function, so it would not work.

    I made a loaf of this recipe and the taste was really good. My question is my loaf was not as tall as yours, so I am hoping you can give me a few tips. I used double acting baking powder but used only 11 grams. I used a 8x4 baking pan. Thanks in advance

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  Рік тому +2

      The 21 g of baking powder is based on double acting baking powder, so you do not need to reduce it. Coconut flour when used in bread tends to be heavy and dense hence, more rising agent is required to help with the rise. Also, if you are using whole psyllium husk, you need to grind it until half its original volume then weigh it. Most issues with keto bread are caused by the incorrect use of psyllium husks so it would be good if you can check out this tutorial video, if you have not done so.

    What does psyllium
    husks do to the bread?

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  11 місяців тому

      It acts as a replacement for gluten. It holds everything together and provides elasticity to shape the dough. Without it, the bread will be crumbly with a cake-like texture. Please check out this tutorial video for better understanding and success;

    is psyllium husks replaceable with anything else? also i understand that eggs should be home temp for not to cook with boiling water, this is just for those didnt know, like myself, i found out a month ago, but im still afraid to pour boiling water on it with that many eggs, is there any suggestions, steps i should take?

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  4 місяці тому +1

      Unfortunately, not. Psyllium Husks is the most important ingredient as it acts as the gluten to make the bread more bread-like. When you mix the ingredients immediately after adding the hot water, there's no problem. Alternatively, you can give the ingredients a rough mix after adding the egg whites, then only add the hot water.

    I just followed the steps and ingredients, except:
    1. I didn't put psyllian husk (I don't have any)
    2. I beat the eggs instead of putting them directly into the mix
    3. I just used 2 1/2 tbsp of baking powder (1 1/2 should be the correct one)
    4. I used an air fryer instead of oven (but followed the time and temperature)
    Is it supposed to taste sour? I couldn't figure out what's wrong

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  10 місяців тому

      Keto bread is complicated therefore, a lot of experimentation is required before getting it right. You need to understand the ingredients. Psyllium husk is the most important ingredient as it acts as the gluten. Hence, it cannot be left out. And all the ingredients cannot be substituted as it will not work. Please check out the PLAYLIST for my baking tutorial videos for a better understanding and success.

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  Рік тому

      Actually, you can use whole eggs for most of my keto bread recipes that use egg whites. The ratio of whole eggs is half of the number of egg whites. However, there will be a lack of rise as the fats from yolks hinder the rise, while protein from the whites helps to boost the rise. If you do not mind the lack of rise then you can use whole eggs.

  • @jordanting705
    @jordanting705 7 днів тому

    mine didn't rise when baked. 1. i beat up the eggs first before mixing it into the dry ingredients 2. I packed down the dough without leaving the top "round". but from baking's technique perspective these should not be the reason that the dough did not rise. I followed the recipe measurement to the tee. troubleshooting please.

      Did you use whole psyllium husks or preground psyllium powder? There's a huge difference and most keto bread issues are caused by the inaccurate use of psyllium husks. Please check out this tutorial video for a better understanding;

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  7 днів тому +1

      @jordanting705 If you use whole psyllium husks, you need to measure that it was ground down to half its original volume, not more or less. If you grind too much, it will be more concentrated, so you are actually using too much psyllium husks.

    While I like this recipe, I think the net carb calculation is inaccurate. The 150g coconut power contains 24g of net carbs. Plus, eggs and baking power, it will be easily 30g net carbs in total. If you slice into 10, each slice would be 3g net carb. No intention to be rude, but I'm really curious to know your calculation.

    • @lowcarbrecipeideas
      @lowcarbrecipeideas  Місяць тому

      As every nutrition info calculator is different, I always stressed that what I have provided is just a guide. So feel free to track with your own calculator if it is more accurate. The servings for this recipe are 16 as mentioned, so if you divide 30 g Net Carb by 16, you will also get 1.8 g Net Carb.
