@@Red-ux2ffJust read Penpal and it was creepier, but not as heart-wrenching to me as this book. Both have some similarities but I guess because I read Monday’s Not Coming before I felt more impacted compared to reading Penpal. Great recommendation nonethelesss. For me the terror of Penpal was that there was a threat unbeknownst to Josh & the narrator, and since they were kids (and their parents didn’t tell them the depth of the stalking), they were more at risk to be harmed. While in Monday’s Not Coming, the harm came from a family member, rather than a stranger who had an obsession with them. I enjoyed reading both, definitely went to bed spooked.
absolutely beautiful story and plot. Every aspect is balanced so evenly; romance, drama, character buildup. I read the entire book in one day. From 8 a.m to 11 p.m I was entirely hooked. I love the characters, thank you for this beautiful book
This was an amazing read. I was not prepared for how real, likable, and engaging she wrote the main characters. The plot was interesting and not predictable at all! Plus the setting was in my neck of the woods so I got a kick out of hearing familiar locations in the book. Great book! I will read her other books for sure.
I read this a few weeks ago and it was such a touching and sad story. I started crying at like page 200 and couldn't stop for the rest of the book...also I saw a story a lot like this on a crime channel and i think it's based off of it 😭
This book, Monday’s Not Coming, is literally the best book I have read in my life. It goes into issues like race, abuse, and the bias that lives in the justice systems and other systems that are presented as just and okay. I am so thankful to Tiffany D. Jackson for this true masterpiece and everything that comes with it.
I have depression and I can tell you I can feel Claudia pain even though she had a different condition than me. I remember me getting real close to this girl almost like my “best friend”. I was attached to her because I never had a friend like that. She reminded me of Monday but never went through abuse but she has a family I always wanted, but she never was as real as Monday so we split apart. Really looking for a friend like Monday. One of the saddest but most connecting stories I read.
This is so powerful. People of Color deal with these issues everyday and to have it in a story that can reach so many people is absolutely astonishing!
For me, while I read this book I WAS Claudia. Our emotions were intertwined, our reactions were connected so when I found out about Monday I reacted the same way as her and I was devastated. I cried as if it was MY best friends, like Monday was my best friend and that’s something I don’t feel very often with books so this was definitely amazing to say the least.
I loved her books so much, only read 2 but i love them so much. The story is amazing, it really gets me immersed. Like i think it's so amazing while reading her books i can see everything. This book made me tear up a bit towards the end, it was crazy. I don't cry from books often but both the books I've read (let me hear a rhyme & Mondays not coming) have made me tear up. She is truly my favorite and an amazing author.
Idk what she's talking about, when a girl goes missing all I get is an amber alert... I don't hear about any white girl gone missing, or a black girl gone missing... Where is she from?
How bout we all start reading The Bible instead of these books. So sad that very young adults are reading this stuff in schools now :( This is why our world is so messed up.
these are real life scenarios happening in the world everyday. the conversation is needed. books like these are NEEDED. if you’re religious, that’s fine, but get your head out of your ass.
This was one of the BEST books I've ever read.
yesss i read it in 6th grade it’s still my favorite but it’s sooo sad when you get to the funeral part :(
This book broke my heart. I need time to recover.
Same. Even tho I'm a white Male, this book it's such a horrible story about this girl who s best freind is dead. And I really dont know what the think
If you think this is traumatizing read penpal by Dathan Auerbach
Just got done reading it and I also need time to recover 😫
man like nofr.
