  • Another bead weaving stitch I enjoy using is herringbone. This is a short demonstration of that stitch using 1mm round crow beads. Cylinder beads work very well for this stitch too.
    Hope you enjoy it! :)

I love your vids, and have just watched every single one on my television. I just logged on to post to say, firstly, thank you! Secondly, I think you are wonderful, creative, and have a great sense if humor. Next, we agree politically. Hah! Nuff said. And lastly, I don't blame you in the least for the attitude towards negative posters. Having seen all your vids, I know now, some of what you have been through. I just saw the Message to you vid, and it brought tears to my eyes. Keep being you, you are loved by many, some you don't know out here. Stay strong which I know you will, it's just you. :) Just had to add my two cents. I love what you bring to the beading and crafting community, I have tried new things because of you and your positive encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I like all your work, You are very funny and enjoy able to learn from you, but in this project as first I kind of confuse, because you use only one color it was hard to see, then I try little of my technique and your I put together. Now I get it.
Thank you very much for the lesson.

Thanks! The kind of thread of weaving medium you should use really depends on what kind beading you want to do. If you want to try weaving (like the stuff in my videos) there's a variety of threads to use. I personally use Fireline, which is a fishing line you can buy at the sporting goods store. I use 4, 6, and 8 lb test line.
Nymo is a very good beading thread, and comes in lots of colors and sizes. Do a little research, and you'll find just the right one. :)

Hola! Saludos y felicitaciones.

@Chaufoxy It never occurred to me to use two colors! I'm glad you figured it out, though. :)

I am really enjoying this! I just took a bead class in this but Had difficulty, They ended up taking a row of 8 and then folding in half. I think your method is much simpler. Do you know a good source pricewise for delicas?
I really enjoy your videos and have put them on my bead playlist!

@armedo109 To end the stitch, I usually just weave the thread through the beadwork for quite a while until it's secure, then I tug the thread and cut it close to the beads. I wish I knew what a "bead knot" was. A surgeons knot, maybe?

All she means is that she's rotating her work to where she is now working right to left again. Look where the threads are coming out and that should clear it up a little... it's just easier to work from right to left (if you're right handed), so generally beaders will rotate their work.

I use size 12 beading needles, but if you use bigger beads, you can use a regular sewing needle for this, or almost any weave.
    HTH! :)

@mrcheekycheeks Practice practice. String four, bring your needle up through the first two and pull both ends of thread. Practice.

use no edits. vid, not pics. use precise terms. put signs for top & bottom. always define "last", "top", "step.up", and skip nothing, assume nothing. do it over

  • @tsummerlee
    @tsummerlee  14 років тому

    Nope. Not yet, anyway.
Actually, I think I might be dangerous with a real video camera. Beading could go right out the window in favor of something like...catching the drug dealer next door selling crack. Stuff like that.
I agree it would be easier to follow, but you'd have to come over here and hold the camera for me, not to mention deal with my crime fighting antics. But if you're game, it might be fun.

@twinstar9 Aren't they giving you enough to do down at that pig trough on the Potomac, otherwise known as the Federal Government Employee Union?
I absolutely take it for granted, & much more than assume, viewers aren't as stupid as you mindless little dictators think they are. True to red tape, stand still bureaucratic form, you think more distractions, disguised as "instruction," would improve things. You wanna help? Get a life of your own.
