    Wonderful piece Trina! Love the contrasting layers of strata again, and the valley v-shape in the middle of the composition leading the eye in. The colors all work beautifully together, and again love the rocks texture stamp. Feeling very deserty landscape. Another WIN! 😍🤩😍 PS: Find out any more about adding memberships via UA-cam?

    Good morning Trina…well this was a great cup of tea this morning!😊 I love how this turned out. A part that I really love is the stamp in the right hand corner…it looks like a stone wall, kind of like looking over a stone wall at the scenery beyond. Wish I had that stamp because it sure is great for rock stone walls…stones…very versatile and does much of the work. Another great painting Trina…have a wonderful day!

      You are so welcome! Isn’t it fabulous! I saw an artist today using it with gouache and I wondered how it might work with the Kuretake watercolors since they are more opaque.🤔 I think I need to try it. Thanks for watching! 😍

    I bought some aquapasto from Jackson’s Art online. I’m in the UK and it arrived by mail in about three days. My local art store had never heard of it!! Anyway, I love it. My tube is 60ml, cost about £12 plus postage, and I can see it will last a good amount of time. (I also got some wax resists from Bromleys Art Supplies - UK, about £5 including postage for 5 sticks. Before that I had a regular wax crayon, but the new resist works much better for me.) Thank you for sharing, Trina. Great tips and skills. ❤

      I had never heard of it either but it has been around since the earlier 1900’s. It such a fun medium and you are going to love paying with it. I’m going to have another play tomorrow. Happy arting! 😍

    Adding the PR101 (and its cousin in crayon) pulled out the slightest hint of red from the adjacent apricot Neo II, which gave the midfield greater depth and interest. The rocky texture from the stamp was also a win. I’m enjoying your Painted Desert groove, Trina. 😊

      The brand I’m using is Winsor & Newton Aquapasto. It’s currently unavailable on Amazon but you can buy it from Jerry’s Artarama. www.jerrysartarama.com/winsor-newton-water-colour-mediums-0008026000000

    8:39 Right above where you’re putting aquapasto it looks like there’s a fish rising out of the sand. Both his eyes are on the front of his face (one is on his nose, but hey we’re not all perfect), but he has beautiful subtle lines. Particularly detailed around his face.
    And I was loving the light “water” below that dark land mass, but then you turned it on its head by adding that cool texture to turn it into dark cliffs. So very beautiful. I’m not at the end yet - I hope my fish makes it! Huh 🤔 by the end, it looks like a giant snake or lizard rearing it’s head up a bit as it makes its way to the water at the front. Really fascinating. Would love to use some negative painting on that to bring out the images I can see. I find them so much easier to find in other people’s work than my own

      I love it! It’s so much easier to find things in other people’s work. Maybe it’s because I stare at it too long. Thanks for commenting. I always enjoy your comments. 😍

    Never used aquapasto, but extremely tempted! I did buy some granulation medium yesterday & had a little play with it on a really richly coloured landscape. Put it on after the paint but I think it will be better to mix it with the paint looking at various videos, including the manufacturer’s. Also had my medical exam paper arrive yesterday. I don’t think it’s the same as yours though. Feels very soft & tears super easily. Was hoping it would be more durable like wet strength tissue. How do you make your collage papers using the med exam paper?

      How exciting! I’ve only had success with granulation medium when I use it with acrylic ink. Not sure why but I had no luck with watercolor. Let me know if you figure it out. For the MEP I use the same techniques most use for tissue paper. I think thinned down acrylic ink is my favorite. Have fun playing! 😍

    Love the aquapasto stamp mark! The pops of English red and the other pastel really made it pop! I need to get to my workspace sometime soon!

    Waiting on my Aquapasto , not due in until November, anybody would think I lived at the bottom of the world without airmail, never mind. I tried to substitute with gum Arabic paste but wasn’t so great, but that could be that I don’t know what I’m doing, will keep experimenting. Don’t have medical exam paper yet so using rice paper for my college, this is working out pretty good,quite transparent. I think the only different technique I have used, that so far I haven’t seen you use is stitching.

    • @MixedMediaArtByTrina
      @MixedMediaArtByTrina  10 годин тому

      I have not tried the gum Arabic technique. Does it make the watercolor thicker? Love using rice paper for collage. It’s surprisingly durable. I haven’t tried stitching yet. I’m terrible at sewing so I might leave that on for you. Haha! Have a great day! 😍

      @@MixedMediaArtByTrina The Gum Arabic, in a tube, is easy to use but I need to play some more before I can really comment. Watching you use aquapasto I think that it looks better. Will compare once my aquapasto arrives.
