I didn't think he was trans at first, but the more I look at him I really think he is! If you look at the jacket it says heart, but the "he" is separated, which may be a nod at acknowledging trans individuals proper pronouns!
i don’t usually get boy dolls because they’re usually sooooo much more boring than their girl counterparts, but with cool lev, i think that’s about to change! i really want lol omg to revolutionize boy dolls, with fashion just as extra as the girls’!
When i was younger i wasn't aloud to get dolls (cause I'm a boy and my dad didn't like me play with "girly" stuff ) but i had bat man and super man figure's and I would make them go on dates with each other Edit:omg thanks for all the support you all are so kind!
So to be clear, Christopher Reeves and Michael Keaton or Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. Because I'm cool with either, but i totally ship the second one :-)
as a trans guy, this makes me really happy to see and i wasn't gonna get him at first but honestly when i caught on to the pronouns on the jacket and the color palette i was like wow... cool guy lev... cool guy me :)
I agree that he's trans, there are so many clues, including the (he) pronoun on his sleeve. And I love him! PS, I saw the pallet display of btws at my Walmart and I swear they were 29.99!
I love your positive attitude about wanting to change the world. I think it's great that you're using this platform to educate people and I hope that it works
I also love the nod to Keith Haring in the design on and in the box, which seems like a definite nod (again) to the LGBT+ community. Neiphling or nibling is often used for nonbinary neice or nephew. I've seen both used.
When i went to go get the rh twins it said they had them but when i went these 2 guys said they didnt have them but them i decided to ask a different employee and he brought out one The moral of the story: ask more employees because some are just gonna lie to your face
I want a female doll who doesn't wear makeup. In dolls it looks cool, but I hate and therefore never wear makeup. I just wonder if that would ever be done. I like that MGA seems to be branching out boldly. Nice
Also, we need more boy dolls in general. What's life without both genders, right? Life is much better with boy dolls dressed in style too. Doll lines always make boys plain, so it's nice to see the change up with MGA. REAL guys, not the boring things they give us that seem to never have character personality as if males only accessorize females. So refreshing and nice. I love this!
'melissa you want so much. I do' LMAO! For some reason that really tickled me. They left him ambiguous but I definitely think they came as CLOSE as a toy sold everywhere in stores will come for now as far as leading in that direction as an additional concept. I still wish his hair was either all blonde or all colorful but he lives up to his name & hype for sure!! Also, fun fact - my own walmart (in florida) has the tweens & miss glam in that display - and the deluxe barbie extra doll & new fashionistas on the shelves - but NOT Lev and I don't think the Rainbow High Twins have reached either of my Targets yet either. Stores will really just have everything and nothing sometimes lol
I totally see him being trans too! When his promo pics were leaked, the „(HE)ART“ on his sleeve immediately caught my eye. I saw it as a play on words, because people show their preferred pronouns online written like for example „(He/Him)“. So the writing on his sleeve might be a mix of his pronouns, heart and art. Kind of like, he proudly shows who he is, he always knew in his heart who he is, and every person is as individual and special as a work of art. And obviously he wears his heart on his sleeve. As an artist myself (illustration, painting and photography), I really love the way he is designed. There‘s just so many hints to his personality and so many references they incorporated. I see Keith Haring, I see Basquiat, I see Streetwear, I see Harajuku, I see queerness, uniqueness, pride, breaking cliches and boundaries. Even down to the broken hearts on the headphones and literally wearing his heart on his sleeve. Boys have feelings, boys can cry and feel heartbroken. Boys can talk about their feelings. There‘s no shame in that, it‘s actually brave to be that self-reflected and open. Every kid should have Cool Lev at home, every collector should have him on their shelf. Because this is peak design. He is an amazing doll, showing how much thought can be put into something as „simple“ as a doll.
This is gonna be my first LOL OMG doll. I love the Rainbow high dolls, but could never get into the OMG line. But this one looks so cool! I ordered from Amazon and am super excited for him to arrive! Glad you reviewed this one! x
I loved everything about this video 💖 It really captured why I love your content so much. Everything from whispering *"sometimes...I'm Lazy"* (mood by the way) to all the above and beyond support you show the LGBT+ community as a whole
Girl same I ordered fancy girl tween pre order and she isn’t coming in till next week 😭 meanwhile she’s in stores right now and I see everyone posting cute pics of her and I just can’t wait to have her in my hands !
Ive always wanted trans dolls and characters. Characters that have trans undertones as of the double meanings in things they say or wear then body types. Different distinct body types. But also women (cis or not) with masculine body types need to be normalized. I never see the celebration of cis women specifically with wide shoulders or narrower hips.
As a Barbie aficionado I always wanted to know about the series of Ken dolls over the decades that had facial hair kids could "shave" off with hot or cold water. The first one appeared in the 1970s. I would think that in a cishet, heteronormative world they would not have been targeted to cis girls since most cis girls don't need to learn how to shave off a beard, yet at the same time these Kens were too "girly" for little cis boys to play with even though they would be the ones needing to learn how to shave. I am on the autism spectrum and think about things like this sometimes because they make no sense to me.
@@MyWorldMelissa I did a quick Google search and found out that there have been at least 6 types of shaving fun Kens that came out. In order they are: 1) Sport and Shave Ken 1979, 2) Shaving Fun Ken 1995, Cool Shavin' Ken 1996, Shave 'n Style Ken 1999, Shaving Fun Ken 1999, and Shaving Fun Ken Set with bathroom sink 2019. I don't know if there have been others. I'd like to try to collect them all.
I would love a male doll with makeup! I feel like some would've freaked if Lev had makeup because "hrr trans guy wearing makeup??" even though trans guys can wear makeup if they want (its for everyone after all!) But yeah Lev is totally trans and I love it because like, he's clearly a boy but also likes more stereotypical 'feminine' things like pink and I love that!
And straight cis guys can wear makeup. I just feel like we’ve still got so many gender rules and in some ways men aren’t able to express themselves. Like women can wear pants now but men can’t wear dresses? It’s just one more thing on the list of things that I hope I will see change in my lifetime.
Very interesting trans guy theory! I absolutely can look at it through a queer lens and say he is kind of trans coded. The cynical side of me thinks that the cyan, magenta, yellow (hair), white, and black color scheme is pretty typical and gives a sort of 80s vibe, and perhaps MGA just wanted to make it clear that Lev is male...for whatever reason... I could imagine that either because he's the first OMG Guy to be sold by himself (and I think the first to have "OMG Guy" on the box?) they really wanted to push the "he's a guy" thing...OR...perhaps the long-haired-ness of Rocker Boi confused some purchasers who thought the two-pack was of two female dolls?...even though his name is Rocker BOI? I'm obviously inventing possible scenarios, but there ARE reasons for design choices. The male symbol chair is honestly a bit of a strange choice, and the "(he)art" on the jacket sleeve definitely made me think about whether it's supposed to reference pronouns, or if its just another "don't forget this doll is a boy" ham-fisted design.
I thought of it as a play on words about being an artist because of the "scribbles" and spray paint , his fashion sense , ect. ( he ) _art_ "skate , scribble & roll" is his motto / one of his mottos on one panel...In my head , he sees himself as an artist / work of art.
My younger stepbrother is constantly complaining about how he will get bullied for having dolls. He wont (his father is just lgbtqphobic and racist) and I live in New Zealand where people are very accepting. I might get Cool Lev for him as a first doll, since he doesnt seem to be an obviously "girly" doll
It seems to me sometimes that MGA puts even more effort into their boys' outfits than the girls' ones. For instance, Na Na Na Surprise boys tend to have more clothing items than girls. And here is another example: Lev's outfit is so gorgeous and has so many layers. Also I love that the color scheme is bright and vibrant, and I totally agree that a bit of makeup will suit his style perfectly, maybe some subtle graffiti-themed eye makeup similar to the pattern on his hair. Speaking of hair, it is honestly the only thing I dislike about Lev. Not that it doesn't suit him (it does), but I prefer guys with longer hair. Actually my favourite hair length is the most challenging one to reproduce on a doll, because it's neither too short nor too long, but MGA do a great job styling their girls' hair, so I hope sometime we'll get a guy with medium-length hair too. Thank you for the review, and yes, I think the theory that Lev is trans is absolutely valid!
Levi's "hair" is crazy! I love the colors and all but I have mixed feelings about the way it feels. I kinda wish that they had made him bald with the short hair being a wig or some thing ...I don't know how they would have achieved the look a different way but if they could have , I think they should have used different material for the hair. Overall though , I still love him.
ive grown up with and watched your channel for years, like since way back when kaiden was young, but im only now coming to realise that UGH YOURE SO COOL OMG
I couldn't find him at Wal Mart , thanks to the internet I decided to look in Target and lucked out , they did have him. If you have a Target near you and want him , I suggest looking at Target first. I usually think of Wal Mart first since Toys R Us is no longer a thing but now I know that if you can't find them at Wal Mart .... Target , Walgreens , and other stores might have what you want.
I’v been watching this Channel for the past six years and I’m just awed at how much it has changed over time, so THANK YOU for making my childhood what it was 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
The online sites never match up with the stores actually have! I got lucky and I went to a far far away Target and was able to snatch everything all at once! I have to say I love that MGA was very risky with the boys. The first release being a rocker boy with super long hair that was accepted by some and hated by others. And then to go extreme with the second release where he's almost completely bald! I love it I love the dramatic difference I can't wait to see what they're going to do in the future I hope there's more boy releases!
I love boy dolls, and it's amazing that such neat boy fashion dolls are finally being made. I mainly collect handmade Plushies and art dolls, but since doll releases have been so good lately I'm kinda getting back into my love of fashion dolls. I would've never dreamed of such awesome guy dolls like Rocker boy and Cool Lev. And I completly agree that Lev is trans. I think the male symbol in his room, and the (he) in (he)art being stylized that way on his jacket confirms it for me. Of course if it was officially mentioned that would be a dream, but this is still really great too. Congrats on nine years, and here's to nine more. I'm quite certain you'll hit 1 million before 60 though. 😉
I've never owned an LOL or Rainbow High doll before but the moment I saw an unboxing, I ordered him online. The colors, the pronoun on his jacket, and his name being Lev (a big fan of Last of Us 2)...I needed him. He's SO cool. I love all his accessories and his style. Thanks for the video.
Sad part is that I originally had "Is He Transgender?" in the title but then figured youtube would suppress the video, so I changed it. :-(. I would rather people hear the message than have a clickbait title that UA-cam suppresses anyway!
If only they didn't have such large cartoonish eyes... it's the only thing holding me back from buying LOL OMG dolls. The rainbow high dolls are much better (eyes wise), so i have 3. The majority of my dolls are Mattel (babrie, ken, skipper, stacie...) I love how proportionate they are. but lately, the quality has worsened, so i stopped buying them. but I can't substitute barbie with omg dolls, the eyes... i did purchase one lol tweens doll, waiting for her to arrive, she's a kid, so the large eyes make more sense.
"I expect nothin less than everything" Boy we all should live under those words. Boll doys used to be so lame that i never got them just to marry them to my dolls because that want my thing, but Bratz boys were the first ones that I saw that had actual personality and now Lev and rocker boy? hell yeah
I'd agree, although I loved Disney's Kocoum. Thank the gods for the Monster High guys, EAH Hunter Huntsman, the BMRs and now Rocker Boi and Lev! Progress. 💖❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
When I was younger I prefered to play with toys targeted for boys like cars and action figures and soldiers, and not so much with dolls even if I did had a few. So in my opinion toys should not be devided and be ment for all kids regardless of being boys or girls.
Yeah I chose to wait on them until I found them in stores, because Amazon and Target were charging me almost 40 bucks for each of them, so yesterday I was able to find Cool Lev and on Friday I found Miss Glam... And yes, I have found many of the Barbie Extra Deluxe dolls at Walmart (I'm in California) as I took a close look at her I could tell she had a lot of bald spots, it was disappointing lol... I don't collect those anyway but still lol also... Siblings? Is that the word? Lol
Your point at the beginning about people not finding him is the same with me I wanted cool lev and fancy girl but they weren’t there so I just ordered them and there coming Friday.I’m so exited for them.
I opened Lev yesterday and I absolutely adore him!! Such a cutie. I also picked up on the possible trans hidden message, and so did my kiddos. Its awesome to have boy OMG dolls.
I fell in love with this doll as soon as I saw your video last week. I finally got him at target today and realized why I love him so much as i was unboxing him. His style is exactly what I've always wanted to wear but didnt because im not a boy. I only recently realized im actually non-binary and im finally buying the clothes i actually want. Canon or not, my Lev is certainly trans. :) I'm with you on the normalizing boys with make up and skirts. Everyone should feel free to be themselves without being bombarded with hate from others. ❤️
I agree, Lev is definitely trans coded. I don't know if MGA would ever explicitly state that Lev is trans, because I don't think they've ever admitted that any of their other dolls are "inspired" by Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Dorothy and other real and fictional people. Do the OMG girls' clothes fit on Lev and Rocker Boy? Because if so, then you could make your own male doll in a dress. I've been binge watching the newer generation of Queer Eye (Jonathan, Tan etc and not Carson, Jai etc) and loving how much they're trying to highlight and normalise all the good things. Not just surface level things like skin care, but learning and growing as a person, being allowed to feel and express emotions, playing with gender/clothing/makeup, and being allowed to cuddle and have that intimate platonic relationship that guys don't always get to have under toxic masculinity. Even the Fab Five grow beyond giving straight guys a makeover, to include: gay men, religious and/or other backgrounds that the Fab Five may have avoided out of comfort (one in particular has a little religious based trauma he tries to work through during the show), cis women, trans men, and various combinations of all of the above. I guess that's my essay on why MGA or other doll creators should take inspiration/do a collab with the Fab Five. Or some of the many other queer fashion icons that have or do exist. ...I definitely didn't go down a googling tunnel to try and see what queer representation there has been in the doll world. Not much, clearly. But hey, if you really want to then you can sew your own doll clothes. That's kind of what I've started doing, not for doll clothes but for myself. Plus size women's clothing - especially in regional Australia - is difficult to find, ill fitting, boring and/or expensive. So now I'm starting to sew, but I'm better at buying fabric on sale than I am at actually sewing functional pieces. I am currently wearing a hooded blanket poncho I made from a fluffy purple fabric with sparkles in it somehow (they're neither itchy nor fall out, so must be magic). Right now it's winter and I'm depressed, so there isn't much motivation to make clothes to wear, even though I have an overlocker to play with now.
I just wanna say that your one of my favorite UA-cam doll collectors I've been watching you and Kaiden for as long as I can remember and I'm non-binary I've known for such a long time and I love having a doll UA-camr that understands and respects LGBT rights and people which I find it hard to find other doll collectors that address the issues and I've always loved dolls and my parents never once said no to a doll no matter the gender Im currently about to turn 19 and I'm still collecting dolls and I'm open about collecting dolls and alot of people often make fun of me for it so I often come home and see you posted a new dolls unboxing and it makes my day better and I was excited to see you posted this video and I can't wait to hit up the store to pick up Lev
I used to watch you the old videos with you and your son years ago, its such a nice suprise to see you on my reccomended! Also if it was just the colours of the trans flag I wouldnt be 100% convinced he was trans but with the he on his sleeve its practically confirmed to me
I am so blessed to have such a cool understanding mom! We went hunting for lev exclusively because we LOVE boy dolls! When I was little my first monster high doll was deuce (and cleo) but my mom bought it for Deuce. I love me a boy doll
I've come up with a theory. The target app shows you what's in the warehouse or "the back," but the machines (in store) will only show what's on the floor. Most of the time they are in the back, but haven't been added to the system to be taken out (and cannot be retrieved from the back to be given due to messing up the inventory numbers). I come to this conclusion after driving to multiple different targets that told me new dolls arrived, but didn't find them, then the next day when I went in for dog food, I found them in the exact spot they weren't the day before. Plus working retail, I can see that happening. It's literally the process we went though with every new tcg release
When I was a kid I only had 1 male doll. I gave him to my most ugly female doll, because i thought “even if she’s not pretty she deserve to be loved”. 😂 I was such social justice warrior since I was a baby hahaha. Other doll were mostly single. Until I saw TaTu on Russian TV 👀 Now as an adult I don’t play with my dolls but I still like to pair up some of them. Long story short I wish there was more different male dolls in different toy lines. Especially Barbie! With rooted hair pleeeaaase! BMR and Looks are the blessing so far even if somewhat pricey. I love green BMR guy.
I didn't think he was trans at first, but the more I look at him I really think he is! If you look at the jacket it says heart, but the "he" is separated, which may be a nod at acknowledging trans individuals proper pronouns!

Nibling is the word you were looking for as an alternative to niece or nephew. I'm torn on whether I like the way the word sounds, but it is the word!
Thank you! I wasn't sure if that was really the word or if it was just something I heard someone use. Thanks!

I’m currently saving up to get him. There was a bunch of him at target yesterday but I only had $5. I don’t collect lol dolls but ima get him
ive grown up with and watched your channel for years, like since way back when kaiden was young, but im only now coming to realise that UGH YOURE SO COOL OMG
My 5 year old little boy is so excited for this doll!! I can’t wait to get it for him!!
Now I want him AAAAAA
And also a David Bowie inspired doll,,,
They should of made the skate board battery operated and then a small snapper to snap the doll on the skate board .That would of been real cool.
I’v been watching this Channel for the past six years and I’m just awed at how much it has changed over time, so THANK YOU for making my childhood what it was 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you. I think the worst thing we can do is stay the same. That would suck :-)
We should get a female/fem presenting doll with a buzz cut and a trans femme doll
Yes!!!!
LOVE this guy!!! Your review has definitely guaranteed him a spot in my collection. 💖
My mom always offered me to get bratz boyz, however I just didn’t want them lmao
Cool Lev is awesome! Can't wait to see your reviews for the BTWs.
Hi! He's Gorgeous!!! I absolutely LOVE Him!!! 😍So much Style, so much Groove!🎧🎶 Thanks a lot for this video🙏👍
This title tho, also, you're cool, sweet and fun person. 💖
Sad part is that I originally had "Is He Transgender?" in the title but then figured youtube would suppress the video, so I changed it. :-(. I would rather people hear the message than have a clickbait title that UA-cam suppresses anyway!
@@MyWorldMelissa oh. I understand why. Don't worry. I'm here for you. 💖
The trans flag in the thumbnail pic tho 😏😁
@@PorcelainJoy ikr?
Also yes, we do shred on the half pipes 😂
(I’m a skater)
Lol
I’ve been waiting for Lev and the tweens and others to come out, if my target doesn’t have them I’m going to die
Loving your eye makeup and lashes! So glamorous 💄
I found the deluxe Barbie extra at my Walmart in iowa!
I just realized your nails are painted and I love them
is it bad I want a rainbow high or OMG male doll to have long acrylics...? LMFAO- I need that in my life 😌
Yes!!!!
I’m getting lev and I WILL be giving him top surgery scars
Lev is very cool.:-DHis jacket and Beanie are cute and great.
He’s the best OMG so far imo!
The background art that is swiggles reminds me of Keith haring
I found the lol BTW dolls and the Barbie Extra deluxe doll today at walmart in KY
Omgs so excited to hunt for Lev! He’s so cute
I love his hair and color scheme so much. Also the skateboard is a really cool accessory.
I'm not really a fan of LOL dolls but I *really* love Lev he's so cool I want him displayed on my desk right now!
Getting serious Dennis Rodman vibes with his hair!
why are him and his little brother THE CUTEST LOOKING DOLLS EVER
I love me a long-haired guy ... period! If I were to get this doll, I would definitely re-root it to have really long hair.
not to be old but
"he was a skater boi"
You've sold me on him! He's awesome. It don't think his color scheme is a coincidence... happy if he represents the trans community.
Melissa, what nail color is that?! I’ve been trying to find one that aqua sea blue shade😍
So nice that there are boys OMG dolls, I love it
I’m glad I found someone who isn’t mad about this
He’s so cool! I want him! 🥰
This might be the first and probably only LOL doll i like
i miss doll hunt videos 🥺
Me too... they are lonely now and I get sad...
I used to watch you the old videos with you and your son years ago, its such a nice suprise to see you on my reccomended!
Also if it was just the colours of the trans flag I wouldnt be 100% convinced he was trans but with the he on his sleeve its practically confirmed to me
I want boy dolls with more makeup and girl dolls completely bare faced!
I am so blessed to have such a cool understanding mom! We went hunting for lev exclusively because we LOVE boy dolls! When I was little my first monster high doll was deuce (and cleo) but my mom bought it for Deuce. I love me a boy doll
They got the supersonix are coming out separately now
I can't wait to find him in the store!! He is beautiful
I'm pretty sure the color scheme is only to match his little brother scribbles but he can be Trans if you want him to be he is your doll after all.
Omg you were my childhood Im now 13 and remember watching you when I was younger
FYI, people say it's dangerous for minors to state their age online. I'm not sure why, but I'm passing that along.
So 90s vibes ! Who's dose he resemble from the 90s lol and OMG always look like celebrities !
Robert Tonner made a playline transdoll, Jazz Jennings
When I was a kid I only had 1 male doll. I gave him to my most ugly female doll, because i thought “even if she’s not pretty she deserve to be loved”. 😂 I was such social justice warrior since I was a baby hahaha.
Other doll were mostly single. Until I saw TaTu on Russian TV 👀
Now as an adult I don’t play with my dolls but I still like to pair up some of them.
Long story short I wish there was more different male dolls in different toy lines. Especially Barbie! With rooted hair pleeeaaase! BMR and Looks are the blessing so far even if somewhat pricey. I love green BMR guy.
