Vanessa H. They read a ton on their own. Much more than what I read aloud to them. The books I read out loud are a little above their reading level so it stretches their vocabulary and sometimes introduces more difficult topics that we can discuss while reading. A lot of living history books so it is like text books come to life. It also is great bonding time!
@@lelelanaee6968 No, they did not. I also don't appreciate the snark. I asked a question to learn about something I'm unfamiliar with, why do you feel the need to be condescending?
Sarah, I’m a teacher, and reading out loud to your children is just as important for helping them learn to read as them practicing reading themselves. Just want you to know that, don’t let the haters hate!! ❤️
Sarah, could you make a “new born 101” kind of video? It’s so rare to have someone as experienced with kids as you, and all of your kids a re so different now, so probably they were also different as newborns, what should new moms know? Pay attention to? What is something you fussed over with number 1 but learned over the years and babies not to worry about? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!
I love this idea! I’m expecting in May and I have picked up things here and there as I’ve watched you have the last two babies. Having it all in one spot would be mighty helpful. Anyway, I enjoy your content! Thank you!!
I'm no where near having kids, but this seems like such a fun video idea to me. I know I will ask my mom those type of questions, but it'd be interesting to hear another persons take on those things.
I've been watching this and caught myself taking deep breaths because of all that's going on. Haha. You are a machine and I'm in awe of your strengths! God is SO good!!! Love your family.
What a handsome little guy that Seth is. Having patience and going with the flow works every time when life's a little busy. You have a great bunch of kids that seem to make your life just work!! Hello to all of you. God bless and stay healthy.
Amie Rikke, me too. I also have depression issues and some days feel like it’s all I can do to get my husband up and fed. I retired early to take care of him since he’s had a stroke. Those days I don’t take time to shower, dress and put on a little makeup, I am in a funk all day.
SARAH & SOLO : YOU BOTH ARE HEAVEN SENT ! I JUST LOVE ALL THE THINGS YOU DO WITH ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN . (I CAN TELL IT'S A CHORE TO DEAL WITH THEM ALL , BUT AT LEAST YOU HAVE OLDER ONES TO HELP OUT) . I HAD 3 CHILDREN & I HAD THEM VERY CLOSE TOGETHER & THAT WAS A HANDFUL ON ME . 😀sibling LOVE! You are teaching infant, toddlers, preschool, elementary , Jr high and HIGH SCHOOL! GOD IS AMAZING! You are fearfully and wonderfully made!
We homeschooled our kids but there were only three. However, I taught some other kids also so the house was usually full. The best of times! So many wonderful memories! You do an amazing job and they learn so much from you that isn't in a book too! Your children are beautiful!
Seth is getting so big. You have beautiful, loving children. You have so much energy. I'm exhausted just watching you. You are so amazing. I admire you so much. Solo is amazing too! Love from Michigan. 💖
Sarah...loved this. Seth is so beautiful..as are all your children. I am a grandmother and mother of 4. My children attended Christian school but I did a lot of supplemental work with them at home. I read to my children from the time they were babies. I think they associated my voice with having a soft place to land after a rough day. So many great memories of those times. God Bless your beautiful family.
Sarah, you amaze me sooo much . You inspire me, your such an awesome mom and person!!! You make me want to be a better parent in the education aspect. God bless your family!
Loved this video. Just barely had my 5th. I don’t homeschool, but found so much useful info. It was also nice to be able to relate to someone even in the slightest and learn from an experienced mother. Thank you!
I am always so excited when I see the notifications for your videos! Thank you so much for giving us an inside look into your lovely life! Happy day! (:
I homeschooled my now 30 year old son. I used Sonlight and loved the books. I liked to read aloud and later found out he was dyslexic and had difficulty reading. My grandson is 9 years old and also dyslexic and cannot read by himself. He does go to public school but they have put Epic on his laptop so he can listen to the books. He now loves books and has awards all over the frig. Found out he's an auditory learner, every child has a style.
You’re an inspiration, sister! We’re currently trying for our 4th little darling. We homeschool using Sonlight as well, and love it. Thanks for all you show and do. I’ve learned a ton from your channel. God bless you and your sweet crew.
Greetings from Dali, China!!!! Thank you for keeping this real - this is my life right now and this video is great for me!!! Seth is precious precious precious
I bow down to you, mama! I have a 3 year old and a 5 month old and I often feel like I can accomplish zero things during the day with them, but here you are killing it with 10! You’re amazing. Thanks for motivating me that I too can do it!! 💪🏻
Such a busy moma, but it really makes you happy, and you can see that in all of your children!! Happy Moma = Happy Family!! Lots of love to you all xxxxx

We’re a family of 8. We homeschool our junior high and high school grade daughters, but we’re thinking of homeschooling all the kiddos soon. My youngest just turned three months today. So this video gave me so much hope in homeschooling them all with a little baby 😊 thanks for sharing.
"Super Why" was a perfect show for letter recognition. It was a win for both of us. And as I type this, I realize I should use it for my others who are learning the letters.
Seriously!? Who are you 19 people that don’t like this video?? Well, I for one, LOVE IT! You are always genuine, and tell it like it is! It’s not easy, you have to be flexible, not everything is going to happen as planned, BUT you love the Lord, you love your family, and that is FANTASTIC! You are a great role model for your kids and other moms! 💜💜💜
I have a Phd. And the biggest thing that influenced my love of learning is that I had a mother who read to me. Keep reading to those kids! You are doing a great job!
I only had one homeschooling when my youngest was a baby. I had a kindergartener that I homeschooled and two toddlers and an infant. My hardest thing was keeping the littles entertained. We finally found that doing his school during nap time was the best for us. I now homeschool all 4 kids. Blessings to you! I love and admire your big family so much!

Seth is so handsome. Just my opinion reading out loud allows the kids to listen and be able to discuss what they heard. This helped my sister when she was a young one

Maybe someone knowledgable can enlighten me: What's the purpose of reading out loud to the kids? Shouldn't THEY be practicing their reading?

I had to re-write that title twice so it did not seem like I was up here trying to homeschool a baby! 🤣
My three year old boy twins started school today and I feel like they're still too young 😢
