Acctualy, the lore is that goofy and Donald were going hunting, and Donald splits up with goofy. Goofy doesn't notice though, so when he hears rustling in the bushes he blindly fires, and he accidently kills Donald. Goofy then has a mental breakdown and begins to think Donald's death wasn't his fault, and was acctualy everyone else's, so he grabs an axe, and Donald's head, and goes out to hunt anyone he can find.
