Realistically speaking, it was pretty bad. A poorly thought out aircraft with an unreliable engine that both scorched the runway and overheated the pilot's ass.
They actually wanted to convert their pilots into the jet era & the idea was a jet aircraft but with minimal changes from a prop for the pilots to familiarize themselves with how a jet works.
In my first months playing WR, I collided with a I-16 in a P-38 (I think) and it took off the left wing up until the engine. The I-16 simply fell to the ground and I had critical wing damage and a LONG flight back to base. That was a stressful landing XDXD Your landing brought back memories

giffツ Air RB is the way to go for grinding. I also recommend playing the Tempest II because it gives you a 110% boost towards the Vampire (check the stats card).
Will there eventually be a video about AIM-7? I have a feeling that these missiles are overhyped.

Firewing131 there are ways to defeat radar guided missiles. I play DCS a little and there are quite few technique to dodge radar guided missiles. Cranking is probably one of the most popular technique.
Love the early jet footage. Would love to see some F-84G gameplay. That's the current jet I'm grinding for. Still very new to jets. Just got my first one (A21RB) and I'm loving Jet gamepplay so far.

Found a new bug in the update. It lets you fire all of your missiles at once. First, go into say, the phantom. Select a bomb loadout once you load into a match. Since you can now select the # of bombs that drop, say 4, 6, or 8. I did this with 4. Select that, then go back to a missile loadout. Once you fire, it should shoot all 4 missiles (bombs according to the game) at once. My drop bomb key is the same as my fire missile key (space).

you can land without the gear using the engine as a skid going 400kph and still stop before the end of the runway so long as you put her down slowly enough and you touch the engine nacelle at the very start of the runway...
this is not possible on later variant Yak-17 since the nose wheel below the engine pokes out even while fully retracted which also means that it is possibly one of the fastest jet that can roll on one wheel without crashing :D

Arado stalemates happen a lot, bombs are "suprise"ingly effective at dealing with light fighters, if you can convince them to chase

The point about the Ho229 being "tanky" despite being made of wood is a good one. I often wonder why the Mosquito accelerates and climbs so badly...despite it being made almost completely out of ply-wood. IRL the Mosquito had a good acceleration + climb rate (comparable to a P38 I believe). Surprised no other UA-camr has mentioned this before...
Yak-15 is my favorite plane. Sad you made a video on it because I liked it being a secretly amazing plane.

3p in a heartbeat. Tractor prop vs low power jet. Can't compare when it comes to stall fighting.
As a not really good aircraft player & getting to jets for the first time in this I struggled with it since 90% of my matches were against jets, I really don't recall me fighting props although I believe it happened, playing it stock/unspaded was really rough to the point of ruining a whole day.
23s are actually very good at killing ground targets (soft targets AND light pillboxed with ground targets belt (you need like 10-20 shells to kill a pillbox)).
Also for landing with 1 wing I recommend learning how to rip 1 flap so you can have a flap only under the damaged wing :)

I think they changed some of the elevator behaviour when flaps are deployed on the FW-190s and Ta-152s. It should make the tail lighter when the flaps are deployed.

The nerf I know about was like a month or two ago. I flew it once, couldn't stand what it was. I thought I was flying a C model.
@@WhooptieDo i started playing it again in op summer after they nerfed it , it was about the compat and landing flaps ,they made it very weak unlike before and nerfed the roll rate at high speed too ,but it was holding and out energy anything at diff altitudes it was hust my aim that made me switch to the c3 ,i thought they gave the c3 a secret buff the climb rate is insane and the abillity to take shoot at hight speed with extreme angles was very easy , most of battles i can came out with at least 4 kills even with 0 bomber kills,

I know, people dont want to pay 20000+ SL repair costs, i know for sure if i want to have fun and not to worry about dying and repair costs i pick plane that is cheap to repair, but even that i do less and less since most of that planes are not planes that i have fun flying.

Hay Whooptie, I'm on PS4, any tips how to control camera to defensively fly? I pretty much just use the force to look behind. I can do it a little bit but mainly just to see if someone is behind me. Or maybe a link.
I really don't know man. I've never played on console. I do know you can use keyboard and mouse on them, so if you aren't.... You could try that.

I just want to point out (cuz of OCD) that the Yak-15 uses tailwheel not tricycle.
But good video, I always found the Yak jets to be so annoying to face because of its good turn.

You should revisit the A-4. They buffed the roll rate to 270 degrees and its a much different plane now. Still bleeds energy, but first couple turns is highly maneuverable and has decent climb and acceleration.

It’s not the fact that the Hortons or wooden aircraft tank. It’s the facts that cannons usually blow right through and do minimal damage. They did accurately model that.
That would make sense with AP, not HE rounds. HE would blow the crap out of wood in a heart beat.

this plane has the best energy retention, i aced the first one and i can say if my engine was ever damaged i had enough energy to glide back to base
Yak3s in a nutshell. When I fly other planes I genuinely feel like Yak3s are ufos.
The Yak 15 is amongst my favourite planes as it is blatantly OP af... I can out turnfight Ho229s in that thing...

Were low tier jet queue times bad before the patch as well, or are tons of people just rushing to get Sparrows?
Pretty sure they've been bad for awhile. There's a large gap between the free to play players who are at lower tier, and they pay to fly jet guys. The result is a dead space in the middle. That's my theory anyways.
@@WhooptieDo Supposedly there's also a "psuedo-MM wall" between 7.3 and 7.7, since mixed jet MM starts at 7.7. Maybe 7.7 gets sucked up by the 8.7 BR blackhole as well.

sea meteor is now 7.3 and the meteor is 7.0
and i notice that the sea meteor is not easy to rip off while pulling 8 to 9G
There's those weird battle ratings that have long que times like 6.3 to 7.7
I think it has more to do with the lack of players, not as many people want to fly these clumsy early jets.
Long queue times are due to the lack of 24/7 mixed MM we get from 7.7 up. That and 9.0 premium planes eliminating the need to play through this BR! :)
But no guys Gaijin cares about queue times, they promise everytime we ask for decompression.
It looks like that the average Me-262 pilot as never flown FW-190s or American aircraft, because if you're turn fighting a Yak-15 you deserve to not survive that fight.

Im the asshat that uses this plane in RB and do air space control. Narwhal 262s hate this thing.
Point to note if your 262 is stock and the yak isn't you won't out run him I has one chase my near stock 262 A1a/U1 he was slightly higher than me but was within 1.5 km I knew I couldn't out turn him from one of yours of defyns vids so I kept the throttles against the stoppers and pointed her straight and level as I could and he very very very slowly caught me up till he got to about 600 meters then started taking shots making me jink around slightly ( I was trying to keep as much speed as I could but I just wasn't stopping his gain)
I’ve gotten sick of war thunder but still do watch your gameplays over the years I just feel like the games turned for the worse tbh.

It was noted in patches. She doesn't pull hard with flaps at 650kmh anymore....

I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times: I enjoy the sht out of tier 3-5 Russian aircraft but the cannons are just so bad most of the time.
The best part is this game used to have alot of Russian bias, now it's the other way around.
I like my plane to go fast, be nimble, and lightweight. I'm fine with shit guns.
