Thanks for the rundown! As a Synthesia user, I’ve got to agree-it’s way better than HeyGen. But honestly, the avatar in this video doesn’t really do its real quality justice
Great video. You nailed it, Synthesia looks and feels more realistic, ease of use. If you plan on customizing in a 3rd party software, we use adobe, may not matter. That said, recent pricing model by HeyGen with unlimited video compared to fixed minutes with Synthesia is attractive. Depends on your usecase. We use both, customer facing Synthesia, internal HeyGen.
The quality of Heygen is way better than that, but the ai studio with preset backgrounds is nice. Loving the Premuim Heygen rn might add this 2nd platform too!
30 minutes of video a month for 89.00 per month for Synthesia vs unlimited for the same price on HeyGen makes this a no-brainer. Thirty minutes a month is a terrible value for 89.00.
Great vid. Overall Synthesia, but HeyGen cloned avatars lip sync better. Also I have a paid HeyGen plan and to me it isn't user friendly. Never used Synthesia but looks way easier to use to make a quality vid
I have only tried Heygen. Good quality personal avatar. But when I tried to make it follow a script, I found too many bugs. it is not easy to use. The limit of 3 minutes on free or 5 minutes on paid is too short. They have no easy way to split a 12 minute video into 3 videos with the paid plan. Support is fast but they don't read your email so they never answer your questions. I decided to just use me and real video and it would be just as fast. Will try Synthesia now.
You should have included moderation in your evaluation criteria. Heygen wins hands down. Synthesia can take up to a day to get through moderation review and most of the videos I tried were rejected. I was not doing anything crazy, just using it to provide stock market updates and trading recommendations.
Does anyone happen to know if, after creating your avatar in Synth using the higher-priced plan, you can still use it if you jump down to the lower-priced plans?
All in all great video. But the saying Synthesia is cheaper is not even close to the truth. 89$ (monthly plan) / 59$ (yearly plan) per month vor 30 min of video content PER month is a ridiculously expensive and a terrible value for money! while HeGen is unlimited! This disqualifies Synthesia 100%. Those 2 are not even comparable for that reason when it comes to price
Are you comparing apples with oranges regarding the translation features? I think what you showed for Synthesia is locked up behind Enterprise pricing? It would be great if it is in the Creator plan.
I have a different take on the realism of these AI clones. I think that beginning a video or ending it with an announcement that your personal AI is delivering the content is not only more transparent and honest, but it also allows instant forgiveness for any oddities in the delivery.
The problem with synthesia is that the free version doesn't let me download my video. Isn't that kind of the point? lol ...and when trying to do video capture on Win10, it slows down and breaks up so you don't get a clean capture lol
Synthesia is limiting in number of miniyes per month or year. Heygen is unlimited even though you can only do 5 minutes per video. But Heygen is unlimited minutes of 5 mins each. You can stich it up later
I think Heygen needs to improve the features that can be used in their trial version. For me Heygen sounds more robotic and generic AI based on their trial version, the avatar has no feelings, and you will recognize some of the voices available because you heard it already from AI videos in TikTok lol. Synthesia FTW.
I don't understand why you left out the feature of Unlimited Videos with Heygen. What exactly does it mean? Is it Unlimited 5 min long videos? As for Synthesia you can only create 10 mins of video per month for the starter plan? What?!?
Correction: Best is free HeyGen+Synthesia = 72mins a year................then never stop learning to express your own damn best self & keep hitting record! Do either allow to import and mix in real life clips? If not whats the best alternative? Just DeScript and use an integrator platform like zapier, make, n8n to pull in Avatar from Synthesia?
What if I want to record myself, then train them to create my own avatar and after that all I need to do is to give them a text and they would create a video from my script? Can any of these do that?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, you can only use a fixed background for your clone avatar (the one you uploaded) and cannot insert your clone avatar into other videos. Is that correct?
@leandroreis1978 i didn't quite catch the create unlimited videos when there is a cap of 5mins video. Does the cap apply to each video like you can only generate 5 minutes long?
@@AlexReyes-w1o ... Exactly! In this version you can create unlimited videos, but they only have to be 5 minutes each. It's better than having 360 minutes PER YEAR!
@@AlexReyes-w1o5 minute is export length you can do 5 minutes audio or video exports but unlimited times with the plan, the limit is 5 minutes at once because these tts websites are not optimized to handle big projects the website becomes so laggy if they allow 30-1 hour content exports for everyone
The main problem with Synthesia is their pricing structure - very limited video creation and it's very repulsive to lots of users-buyers not to mention to lots of freelancing activities Heygen can provide with a corresponding small amount of money compared to Synthesia. Yes, I observed Synthesia has better product although subtle but they aren't considering the advent of the creator economics these days. If Synthesia has no competition, I'll get it but the subtle difference in quality can't beat the ROI the user-buyer could get from HeyGen even at the expense of "additional subtle works". I prefer Heygen and I subscribed already.
On top, you have to pay it for a “Year/annually” when you start out. $850+ and not sure if you’re going to like it. Would be nice if they had a monthly plan, to figure out if this is for you or not.
This has got to be a biased paid sponsor Synthesia. How is he going to tell us Synthesia's paid plans are better when HeyGen can created UNLIMITED videos? And there's no way he thinks Synthesia's AI Clone is as good as HeyGen's based on the results shown in this video.
Try Synthesia: get.synthesia.io/aiandy
Try Heygen: heygen.com/?sid=rewardful&via=anders
Love how you are just outside on the porch filming. Well done video overall.

HeyGen has the knockout blow with the fact that you can make UNLIMITED videos with their plan.
The only issue is it takes 24 hours for their “unlimited” unless you’re on the enterprise plan

Your genuine nature beats any AI clone hands down ^)
I was looking for it right now! Anyway, Heygen seems better in AI Avatar (clone), but the Synthesia studio is better.
30 minutes of video a month for 89.00 per month for Synthesia vs unlimited for the same price on HeyGen makes this a no-brainer. Thirty minutes a month is a terrible value for 89.00.
Thank you for this summary! Is there any free or one-time payment clone avatar ? I really mean clone, not a random character.
Synthesia all the way tbh. :) Never been in hot water on AI safety and ethics, unlike Heygen.

Great fair and balanced comparison!
This comparison between Heygen and Synthesia is incredibly useful for anyone exploring AI avatar software.
Ok ChatGPT.
Super helpful comparison, thanks a lot!
Thabks Andy, was super useful 🎉

The 120 min limit on the lower tier plan is not worth it.

Heygen doesnt have a live moderation team that's why. Someone already made a phony avatar of their CEO to bump bitcoin
Did they give you a reason for the rejection?
@@gc7556 No
PLease compare with new HeyGen’s Avatar 3.0
One key thing here on HeyGen - the instant avatar is literally “instant” (or close to) vs what you mentioned on it being next day
He said that next day for synthesia not heygen

I've been planning to dub a few videos with lip-sync, and someone suggested I try Syn Monster. Could you help me with a review of it
Is there any free or one-time payment clone avatar ? I really mean clone, not a random character.
HeyGen uses Synthesia in the background as API, probably HeyGen uses more resources combined

In this video, he asked the AI to write the script and use AI avatar to read it. I assume it's possible to achieve what you want.

Best to upload a green screen video then you would have to do some editing after I would imagine.
I have created over three Avatar in Synthesia and they always look like my eyes are closed.
For heygen creator, the $24/mo is equivalent to 5mins video only?

You can now remove the clothing on the avatars. Only available to over 18s though.

Lip sync is awful in both. It will get there eventually but currently it just looks terrible. Reminds me of a bad 70s kung fu movie.
