I don't know how more strongly I can say that Tyler is a lifesaver. I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm experiencing more ease and consistency in my mixed voice than ever before. Thank you Sir!
I literally love that I happened upon you! I’d struggled with studying voice since I got accepted in performing arts hs ages ago. The more I studied the more I felt underwhelmed and defeated. Here I am in my 40’s pursuing my childhood dream. Determined to actualized what I’ve always deeply felt and just like that… watching a few of your videos & techniques I can actually feel sensations I never knew was there. That buzz. I light headed full body sensation that happens when notes touch places you’ve never experienced. And let me tell you I’ve studied classical & jazz from greats but psychologically anxiety crippled me from progressing. Nobody could seem to help me… not even masters of the craft. I’m blown away!
For those of you who have been writing "learn to sing higher/better" in your manifestation journals, I'm here to let you know that just having hope of improving isn't enough. "Faith without works is dead." You gotta meet the universe half way and start putting that work in. When I started taking exercises seriously and started practicing for an hour and a half, five days a week, and letting my voice rest on Saturday and Sunday; after 4 short months my tone quality and range improved drastically. But honestly what helped the most was the imagery; Me just laying awake, imagining how good I'll sound. Imagining the people I'll make happy with my voice. The key to manifestation is having a clear image, and feeling of your goal as if you've already achieved it.
I've been following you for quite awhile now and I'm getting better and stronger. I love the disgust voice. that really helps me. I really am getting the buzzy feeling in "May I go?" that really helps too. Thank you so much Tyler. Your techniques really work.
The voice instrument is within our bodies and our minds. Thus, I consider it the most intimate and perhaps the most intuitive one. Learning about how it feels, getting to know the sensations as a guide to the correct path. The way you teach Tyler is just awesome. But your message at the end of this video is perhaps the most valuable message of this week. About having a vision: "where do I see myself in 6 years? as a person, and artist, a singer?". Having a vision, then a plan to make it happen. Leaving nothing to randomness, but taking full responsibility and action of who we are and who we become. Thanks for your content and keep it up!
Thanks Tyler! I am so going to try this exercise and build my mixed voice. I recently get a solo in the song The Circle of Life and I just can not hit a bunch of G5 with ease and power (I am a baritone). I kinda feel like the lion king singers are strong belters, they do not sound like using mixed voices to generate those powerful, wild high notes. I cant belt that high, so maybe build my mixed voice is a better approach for me.
Okay seriously I really saw a difference like I jut hit a high note so easily and it wasn't stressful at all and its so nice thanks so much ur the best
Tyler, your last message about our future selves was so good. It’s really a question everyone should ask themselves. Great video! Hope you’ll continue with your work, so many people including myself enjoy and profit of it so much!
Hi Tyler! I bought your mix voice masterclass and it's amazing. But I don't know if I need to do a mix workout 5 times a week and then move on to the other...Or if I need to do all four workouts in the same week, one each day. Thank you.
Thanks for being Mix Voice Masterclass user!! There is no hard and fast rule on how to rotate the workouts but I would rotate the 4 of them throughout the week.' However there may be times where say Mix Workout 2 is just amazing for you and you will want to do that one for a couple weeks and then move on. Experiment with all of them and take note of the exercises that really help you and make your voice feel good. Thanks again and if you have any other questions you can reach out to me at bookingtylerwysong@gmail.com
Tyror you keep answering the questions I have in my head. I have started working on my mix voice again since probably 2 years ago. You're saving me years of trying to figure this stuff on my own. For years I have been avoiding feeling the mix buzz in the back in the pharynx thinking that was wrong because you "should not be singing out of your throat"🤔..(lack of knowledge is distructive isn't it) I have been confused about this for so long. Focusing on that buzz in every other cavity other than the movement in the back as you explain here in this video. I have one question though that I am still trying to figure out. Does the voice start to tilt forward over the first bridge or does it keep going straight up behind the soft palette into the head. Thanks again Tylor🙏🏼
Can I find my mix by using a straw ? Whenever I go into my passagio, I'm wether pulling chest in the straw, or flipping really badly to falsetto, how do I need to do the exercise ?
@@tylerwysong Well thanks, now I can go through my first passsagio around C4 and sometimes I can sing up to G4 effortlessly now! Thank you a lot you're really inspiring!
I feel like it is a great exercise but you don't explain very well what you have to do, I mean how you do the transitions, like you have to do less breath in high notes or something like that, you are just showing how to do it
Hey Tyler! I’ve been following your work for a while and it really helped my singing while keeping a warm tone in my voice. Thank you and keep up the great work!! Please feel free to check out my version of “Fall on me” by Andrea Bocelli on my channel and let me know if you have any specific vocal advice 🙏🏻 I would deeply appreciate it!! Regards from the UK!
I’m pretty sure the context you wrote here is meant to be a joke. But in case it’s not I would remind you of this quote “Make sure you plan your own life, otherwise someone else will. Guess what they have planned for you? Not much”
@@tylerwysong Wow, that's inspiring! I can sing but I think I just don't wanna embarrass my wife when I make funny sounds in our room. Esp. I'm trying to strengthen my mixed voice 😅

Faith without works is dead!! Yes sir!! Should have added that in here.
Also I believe affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion.
Just wanna say I’ve been watching a lot of these and I really appreciate the motivational talks at the end!

🔥🔥 no one can beat you in the game of teaching mix voice to newbies!
Wow thank you!
Tyler is the sweetest! My favorite vox coach on youtube! Doing these exercises before my show tonight

Thanks to you i've been able to explore, discover and make some progress on my mix, now I gotta practice
That's so amazing!!
I have started working on my mixed voice thanks to you. I am starting to UNDERSTAND . Actually, my BODY is starting to understand. Great stuff!
Wonderful!
THANK YOU for explaining that you sing through the straw and not blow through it! I've been having so much trouble with the straw and now I know why
Yes! Absolutely!
I'm getting use to mixing now it it just took some time to build the coordination to be able to do it instantly.
Yes for sure! Keep at it!
Thank you for this precious Easter present, Tyler 🙌🙌🙌🙌❤️
You are so welcome!
Gracias infinitasssss

Sounds like John Legend uses this technique. I could swear the exercises have the same buzz and timbre as John Legend. 👌🏻

Yes! Amazing! Thank you for watching my friend!
Great exercise, Mr. Tyler 👍. Where could I buy straw phonation?
The straw I am using here is called an OOVO straw. They are a little pricey but I got mine for Christmas!
Wow. His larynx barely moves. You rock dude! Love these videos 😃
Super discussed 😍
your videos are the reason i can now sing ariana grande songs without having to skip the end super high parts when she goes off lol THANK U

@GIGI If I try to stay in chest voice in the straw, but I place the resonance in my forehead and I'm feeling it thin out is it the right thing to do ?
Yes absolutely. That is very common, keep at it!

I didn't understand anything about the language:😱😂but I'm imitating the exercises:👍✅
What size straw diameter are you using
I'm using the OOVO straw here so it's somewhat of a coffee stir straw diameter, maybe just slightly larger
Right... I watched the video. May I go? :D
Lol!!

The straw has NEVER worked for me in my 4 years :( it always gets caught in my throat.
Also my mix sounds like a piece of rubber
I can't stop my voice crack🙄
Don't get discouraged. This is very common. Keep at it and you will figure it out.
