I think in this video, I may have mistakenly stated “Standard 25.5 Gibson LP Scale” when in fact, it’s a “Standard 24.75” Gibson LP scale”. Been doing a lot of Tele’s recently…🤣👍

Love Firefly Guitars!!! My bank account and my wife doesn't!! Best bang for buck that Ive found! Taped off the logo on my FF headstock and had a good friend of mine, works for a guitar store for over 10 years, judge the guitars sound and build. Said it was every bit as good and built as a Les Paul. I asked Studio or Standard. He said Studio but, thinks it stands up to a Standard. Then I revealed the name. He was blown away with the quality of a budget guitar.
I'm in Canada and with shipping and going through a vendor that ships here comes in around 360 cad which is still a steal for these guitars, but yes I'm going broke trying to collect thier LPs lol

@JimmyStewart1 actually yes I own the yellow bat I scooped it up, has the ball end frets just the tuners weren't great on it, but 280 cad either way awesome deal, I've been able to use a local shipping company that has US warehouses which ship across boarder even after the conversion rate and duty I can't complain, but yes would be alot easier if Amazon canada had more to offer!

I love the Firefly road worn guitars I own two now, the white Telecaster and the black Strat and I have been playing guitar for 50 years now but never owned a guitar long enough to get it road worn and I love the vibe, it has nothing to do with fooling people to think I played it long and hard it's just a cool vibe. The one thing I don't like about the Firefly guitars is the locking tuners I've had to replace them every time with a better set of standard tuners and I own 6 Firefly guitars now.

I got 3 Firefly FFSP now. 1 with the Elite pickups, 1 classic, 1 classic with 3 pickups. I like the Elite pickups the best and all 3 are really good overall.

Thanks for the demo and review, Jimmy! For myself, I'm not crazy about relics, not so much for the"poser factor", but rather they raise a feeling of uncomfortableness like when I majorly ding my guitars - causing all sorts of self-recrimination...

The light “satin or matte” finish just feels good. Of course you can get those finishes in a non relic version in some models as well. I own two Firefly guitar... trouble is the website NEVER gives much stat info on a guitar... this model is not listed as having Alnico 5 pick-ups... so the assumption would be "Ceramic"... if Firefly put a little more effort in communication with buyers they would sell more 🎸...

I agree that the web site is a bit lacking, but it’s gotten better in the past year or so. They tend to do a lot of “cut and paste” when it comes to descriptions and specs and a lot of times, things get a bit confused. Firefly has been updating their models with Alnico 5’s on most of the newer models along with SS frets…they keep upping the game and the web site needs to keep up with it as well…..thanks so much for stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts. @@JimmyStewart1 very true, I have 4 lp style ff, 2 bucket, the bari and reg, this one, 2 pup and 3 pup bb elite, all great, and diffrent weights

I wish they would do a light relic. The front looks ok, but the back, not so much.

Well the back is usually where the majority of wear occurs over time. My 54 LP JR is a prime example. I have a couple of light relics (a IYV LP model and a Slick Jag style) and both are done well. Perhaps in the future releases? Truly appreciate your stopping into the channel and sharing your thoughts! 🎸👍

I have a smokey burst non relic when they came out with the finish last year. Absolutely beautiful guitar plays and sounds great can't go wrong

Mr Jimmy, do you happen to know if that’s a veneer or a maple cap? As inexpensive as the beat guitars are are I would assume veneer, but GG would normally let you know if it has a veneer or not. Thanks for your videos, very informative!

Is this the Vintage Sunburst or the Tobacco Burst? I am thinking it's the Tobacco Burst? Website doesn't have a Vintage Smokey anymore.

Hi DJ….it is neither….This is the Vintage Smokey Relic….apparently they sold out as I don’t see it on the website now either. The Vintage Sunburst and Tobacco burst look similar but I agree it is closer to the Tobacco burst. Thanks for stopping into the channel! 🎸👍
After looking at Guitars Gardens' SP relics again, that looks more like the vintage sunburst. The smoky looks drab in the pics. but the markings are the same on yours as the Smokey, so another case of the pics not doing justice to the guitar.

Hi Scott! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Not sure if the horn shape would make any guitar I was interested a “deal breaker” but I get it. Many manufacturers of the Les Paul style body shape have taken liberties with the horn shape mostly to keep the Gibson police at bay…I think the horn here is pretty well done all considered.

I kinda felt the same way until I played the 1st relic Strat from Firefly and the feel and vibe just felt “right”. This is my 2nd relic from them, and the feel and vibe is the same…not sure what it is, but the guitar just feels good…hard to describe. Not really having to worry too much about putting the 1st nick in it as also somehow therapeutic as well…😎

the FF-SP goldtop is 219! and i dont have a goldtop.....soo tempting haha!!!

Rosewood Tele? I bet it’s probably going to be a mahogany body with a rosewood veneer and a maple neck with a rosewood veneer on the headstock, similar to the Harley Benton TE-70 rosewood model. I absolutely cannot picture Firefly making it out of pure rosewood, which would almost certainly be VERY expensive, not to mention HEAVY, unless it’s chambered with a white sandwich stripe like the later ones from Fender, and I cannot picture Firefly going to the additional trouble and expense of adding this additional manufacturing complexity, either. I wonder what other models Firefly has in the pipeline now though! Do you know?

I would agree it not being a solid rosewood bodied guitar. The price point would be way too high for a Firefly based guitar. I bet it’s going to be nice though…😎
I get some feedback on occasion from FF on what they are working on or asking my opinion on certain things…right now I know pretty little…🤣

@@JimmyStewart1 I agree, it WILL probably be very nice, even if it is a veneer-in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being better than the Harley Benton version. I think a rosewood veneer could look very attractive, but that high gloss finish on the HB version just doesn’t look right somehow.

Have not seen the HB version, but heard from a few folks that it was just…ok…one guy said his had a lot of QC issues, but that can happen on any guitar so…
Hopefully we will find out soon about the FF version….pics I have seen look killer…🎸👍
Meh… It’s no doubt a good guitar, but I think I’ll hold out for more exciting models like the Walnut FFSP or the Walnut 12-string 338! 😂

Makes no sense to try and "relic" a brand that hasn't been around long enough to become worn that bad.
You could get away with it on Epi and Gibson LP's, but not these. Buy a new or used Firefly and wear it in naturally.

I have an FF338 that I absolutely love, and whose neck I would put up alongside a Gibson any time.
